Lieutenanatard and Occupy Atlanta....The Rest of The Story

We hate to seem like we are ganging up on one of our own, but come on! What was Rorey thinking? This smells like a deliberate act of fraud to us.

That 5 minutes of fame kinda sucks huh?

From Gwinnett Post article:

" In an order denying the Rorey family an emergency injunction against eviction, Superior Court Judge Karen Beyers wrote she wasn't convinced that Fannie Mae lacked the rights it exercised when it sent an eviction notice.

"(The Rorey family) has also waited until well more than a year to bring this civil action, during which time no mortgage payments were made," Beyers wrote in an order signed Monday."

Come on now some of us have been here long enough to remember ol Lt. Sticky Fingers himself.
Chris why and the world would you allow the bafoons to shame you and your family.
You dont air your laundry out for everyone to know your business dumb ass.
Besides you should have been fired for stealing from the part time job you were working for.
What ever happened to thoses DVD's anyway, did the store get em back after all the camera dont lie.

Going beyond this specific instance, just how would DeKalb political leaders respond to an "occupy Dekalb" performance at Mason Mill park complete with tents, generators and catering. Undoubtedly DKPD has an updated contingency plan to deal with the problem, but the question is how would DeKalb's Commissioners and CEO react? Has the CEO or commissioners even asked DKPD what the contingency plans are or received a briefing of the contingency plan? This is kindergarten stuff for a local government but from experience my guess is that no DeKalb elected official has a clue to DKPD contingency plans for an "occupation" event.
An hours worth of preparation by the elected officials could avoid some damn foolish behavior and cost to DeKalb citizens.
My opinionated opinion;

Rorey was a militant loser when he worked the road. Now he's a militant loser LT. He should have been fired for stealing years ago. The county screwed that up too. Pull open records on him and see for yourself.

Anonymous said...

Didnt Rorey get in trouble about 7 years ago for stealing on a part time job. I knew he was suspended over the incident. I was surprised he made SGT and now he's a LT???.

Anonymous said...

Rorey what were thinking? Now that is out of the way how bout conduct unbecoming while off duty? Well at least this time no game boy and video is involved.

Anonymous said...

I think im going to stop paying my mortgage for a year, then blame it on someone else, and ask a group of thugs to hang out in my front yard to obstruct law enforcement from doing their job.

So a police lieutenant requests a group of people who have all been arrested by atlanta pd in the last week to come hang out on their property?? oh I mean the banks property??

Anonymous said...

Hey I have an idea the trust worthy Lt, can get a free home in Dekalb courtesy of the BOC.
Now that would be living at it's best, and news worthy, so whata say Lt how about a fine fine home off Candler Rd for you and the misses.

And where in the hel is Slamin Ethel on this subject.

Anonymous said...

At least to show a good faith of intent to pay, Rorey should show where he saved his non-paid mortgage payments in escrow. That is what any honorable person would do when disputing a contract.

Anonymous said...

I see the promotional exams are working as usual in DeKalb.

Anonymous said...

Let's see, deliberately default on your mortgage, don't make any payments for over a year, file a BS lawsuit, then convince a bunch of dumbsh--- to come over and camp on your lawn and declare that society is unfair. He must have been using County math.
Did you see today's Commission meeting? Classic County math at work. Rader is questioning Stogner, Dir. Miller and Janet Anderson about $620,000.00 due on a 12 million dollar contract and he says that the 620K is about 20% of the total contract. He doesn't just say it once, he says it twice. Do your math Rader, it's just a little over 5%.

Anonymous said...

"Rorey's husband, a law enforcement officer with DeKalb County , sent Occupy Atlanta an e-mail detailing their plight last week"-AJC. How many different policy violations or laws did this violate?

Anonymous said...

Duuuuude, Put down the crack pipe. What were you thinking? Stepped right into a hyooooge pile of public embarrassment for yourself and us. Not very smart. Maybe animal control has an opening. You can't make stuff like this up.

Anonymous said...

Who's next on the Lt's promotion list? Looks like there may be a vacancy soon.

Anonymous said...

He should resign. No one here likes him.

Anonymous said...

He deliberately defaulted on his loan. That's "intent" in order to get the bank to give him some kind of deal. That sounds like an intent to defraud and that's legal??? All of the government programs created to try and keep people in their homes were designed for those individuals who truly needed the loan restructuring, not for scamming the system.
On another note, how would the commissioners feel if the occuturds camped out in front of their homes?? Do you think they would expect us to come and rescue them?

Anonymous said...

Did anyone read the comments posted by the readers of the news article? Most are pushing for his prosecution. Tawanna Rorey says she hopes the government will investigate this, that it is happening to people all over the country. I say that I agree with you on that. I hope they do investigate it so they can tell me how what basically amounts to fraud is all perfectly legal.

Anonymous said...

Lt, you're not the victim of a scam just because the scam you were trying to pull on your mortgage company and the federal program didn't work!!! You chose to not make mortgage payments for a year!! You got to live mortgage free for a whole year!! How are you the victim??

Anonymous said...

Apparently in the near future, Rorey is traveling to Florida with his little league football team. How do you have travel money when you can't pay your mortgage? Oh wait, since the mortgage isn't getting paid there must be "mad money" just laying around.

Anonymous said...

He still has a job after getting caught stealing on video, while other DeKalb officers have been fired and arrested for the same thing? Maybe they should have played the race card like he did.

Anonymous said...

Part time jobs are very hard to come by nowadays. If you are not assigned to special ops you are lucky if you can even fill in anywhere. I am a single parent of three and I am barely making it on DKPD pay. No raise in sight and insurance, etc are steadily being increased. Whether Rorey could afford his mortgage or not the BOC needs to revisit the pay scales that they are not paying to the officers because more and more will result to criminal activity.

Anonymous said...

I am struggling so hard to hang on to what little I have left and have worked for all my life, and to read yet another story about yet another dishonest person with a sense of entitlement makes me sick to my stomach. Is there any hope for humanity at all ??????

Anonymous said...

Have I mentioned how GRATEFUL I am to be away from that shit-hole and all the criminals running it? Rhetorical question so you can safely assume everyone that left DeKalb is MUCH healthier for it.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't even bother listing Dekalb as a prior employer at this point it is such a disgrace.

Anonymous said...

This is one of those memorable stunts that cements ones place in the really stupid bone headed! What were they thinking hall of fame.
I can see a young officer confessing to his sergeant, after a really dumb screw up, Well I did a "ROREY"!!!

What's with the South Precinct? One scandal after another....

As The Precinct Turns!

Anonymous said...

You would think that a Lt (who makes alot more money that a MPO, PO1, PO2, and detective, even with the county budget cuts, would have more sense. Not to mention all the part time jobs he works. Rorey is a piece of work. Once again, one of DeKalb's finest that made it up the ranks in the good old boy system.

Anonymous said...

In the famous words of Paul Harvey "and now the rest of the story" Rorey went well over 1 year without paying his mortgage and did not make any effort to do so. He is a scam artist that is always looking to get over on someone. Rorey is a thief and should have been terminated a long time ago, remember "DVD Gate" he also has a reputation since he made LT for trying to steal part-time jobs and intimidate subordinate personnel. I am so glad that Sgt Barden stood up to that clown. Chief OB get rid of this clown, he is a BUM and no one respects him!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Didn't Rorey try to steal the part-time job at Perimeter Mall from Sgt Barden? Can anyone provide details on this?

Anonymous said...

Let's stay on track with our overall emergency pension situation (http://money.msn.com/retirement-investment/article.aspx?post=4983a5f8-bc82-4d24-8aaf-43893d580bee). If the BOC will freeze our benefits as is at least the pension is mostly funded and sovereign for those currently vested. Granted it isn't sustainable and newer employees will be converted to 401 scenario but let's not loose it all for all those vested, frozen, and retired.

Anonymous said...

This is the true pulse of the health of DKPD. Let's hope someone is smart enough to pay attention.

The normal method of prosecuting such a case would be to obtain the original application for loan modification as the hardships to qualify would have been grossly misrepresented (blatant lie) in this case.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget the guy heading this occupy Atl group is a known convicted felon many times over which is a blatant county policy violation to invite him to your home and otherwise associate with him. Come on IA, get busy enforcing your own rules and regs.

Anonymous said...

Can you say NEGLIGENT RETENTION?

Anonymous said...

How many different policy violations or laws did this violate?
Possibly:
Professional Image 2-2.12, Truthfulness 2-2.17 , Prohibitive Association 2-2.27, Subversive Organization 2-2.28, Private Benefit from Departmental Association 2-2.34, With Holding Information on Criminal Acts 2-2.35, Duty to Read and Understand 2-2.39, Payment of Debts 2-2.55, Violation of Law 2-2.56 and Conduct Unbecoming 2-2.71.
Has the Gwinnett Sheriff's Office has quietly opened a criminal investigation?
This action if true has clearly brought negative attention on DKPD and will impact officers' ability to do their duty. This action if true clearly brings into question his decision making ability and his leadership abilities.

Thats exactly it Fruad. Rorey is a snake and has been very lucky to still have a job.... Thanks chief Homles.
Any officer that has lost thier house to foreclosure, deserved to lose it.. There are many ways while working for Dekalb County to make extra money.. And for you that have the criminal mind, I dont mean illegally... I dont give a rats asss what you say, there are plenty and I mean plenty of part time jobs out there to make ends meet..And with three days off get a second job outside the dept.. That having been said, Did the officer that lost thier house have cable, a real nice cell phone, real real nice bling car, so f=off with it being Dekalb County's fault. Its like the food stamps,WIC, SEc 8 and Welfare..I cant afford food, a place to live, but Ill driver up to the sec 8place with a brand new Escaladeyyy, 200 dollars sneakers, gold in mouth and around my neck, cable tv, a 500 dollars cell phone but complain at Public because the food stamp allows publix's bread and not wonderbread,, What a joke... Obamanomics at it best baby.. An officers that loses thier house, its that officers fault... I know for a fact, an officer at South Pct did not pay thier mortage for 2 years.... 2 years. Said could not afford it but it did not stop that officer from having a cell phone ,nice car and go out drinking all the time....2 years and did not pay the mortage.2 whole years living there and did npt pay anything. 2years of my mortage is $30,000 Live there for two years free and then just left... yea thier credit is now shot, but really, I mean really do you really think they care... But itsssssss Dekalb Countys Fault... Remember that officer saying if anybody else was having problems with thier mortage, they should do the same. Something like that, to me, would be embrassing and I certinly would have been bragging about it. Welcome to Obama way of thinking and doing. Well that Officer deserved to lose thier house and should never be allowed to own anything ever ever again. F--ing Slugs...

Anonymous said...

If he didn't male payments for a year, he should have saved the monthly $$$ and been ready to write the back a check to hang on to his house. Remember, he signed a contract to make the payments. I make my payments and I'm under water. WTF Rorey. Not good ethics as always.

Anonymous said...

Its a shame, not one comment of concern for Lieutenant Rorey. Has anyone asked him his side? We are all one call away from a life changing experience. We can't predict what might happen and who might have to help us. Most of you are one pay check away from a bad situation. I don't know Rorey personally. From what I'm reading he might have a flaw or two, just like us all. I'm going to say this. If you live in a glass house, you can't throw rocks. "Put the rocks down" he is one of us and this is how we support him? Oh I get it he's not in the club. Not a Herman Cain type of guy.

Anonymous said...

Jafferson Co Alabama(Birmingham) just declared bankruptsy. I wonder what happened to their pansion. More important than that..IS OUR PENSION PROTECTED>>>IS ANYONE LOOKING OUT FOR OUR PENSION?

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:09pm, being in "the club" is the only reason Rorey still has a job here. Years ago when he was an MPO he was caught on camera stealing while working an extra job. When he was caught he cried that he was being picked on because he was black and the whole thing went away. I guess you could call that a flaw.

Anonymous said...

Guess he should have treated people better and perhaps they would have come to his defense. What goes around comes around...

Anonymous said...

Three Words; "Attitude reflects leadership"...

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:06 PM, that last comment sure smells a lot like Rorey's worn out race card. Is that you? Never mind, it doesn't matter who wrote that uniformed, stupid comment. You asked, "This is how we support him?" No, this is how we call him out for his disgraceful behavior yet again! Why should we support him? Just because he has a badge he can do no wrong? You "claim" to not know him personally. Well a lot of us do and we don't like the way he has made our department look bad!

Rorey's wife was interviewed for this story. Read the article for yourself! She made no mention of financial hardship facing the family! She said they always paid their mortgage on time but wanted to get a lower interest rate by not paying their mortgage for a few months! His own wife said they chose to not pay their mortgage based on the advice of a "scam artist" who told them to do it. They were trying to run their own scam, it failed, now they are crying about it, claiming to be the victims! What about their mortgage company that hasn't received a payment in over a year from them because they CHOSE to not pay their mortgage for a year?

If you have some information we don't, please share it. Otherwise, piss off!

Anonymous said...

He isn't the only one in DKPD who's home is in foreclosure. Word on the street is our Assistant Chief Dale Holmes house was foreclosed on as well.

Anonymous said...

South Precinct consists of nothing but misfits from the Major down!!!! What is Mr. Ed saying about this? Oh -22 he is too busy getting his subordinates in the sack just like A1

Anonymous said...

Oh for crying out loud people get a life stop bashing officers on here we have more important things to worry about than this issue. And for the owner of the blog way to go for encouraging our employees on bashing each other by keeping post here that shows what kind of department we have and unity no wonder we have issues.

Anonymous said...

Anon 11:48, you can piss off too! We're not bashing officers, we're bashing shitbags making us real officers look bad! Foreclosure can happen to anyone who has a some bad luck. I have sympathy for those people. But I don't have sympathy for people who decide not to pay their own mortgage as part of some scam to get a lower interest rate on their mortgage!!

DeKalb Officers said...

A Note From DeKalb Officers Addressing Anon, November 9, 2011 11:48 PM:

The officer chose to bring in a group of degenerates and the media in hopes of winning public sympathy for him, for what some would say is fraud. He chose not to make his mortgage payment for at least a year. He chose to attempt to scam the system. He brought this to light, not us.

Just like Terrell Bolton, when we see corruption, and when you bring embarrassment to our department, we will call you out.

Anonymous said...

Another Dekalb supervisor doing something shady, embarrassing, idiotic and borderline corrupt? You'd think that someone up top would realize that the widely known and blatant promotional testing based on race and gender instead of competency has crippled this department for years to come. I will admit, we have some top notch supervisors, but half are obviously semi-incompetent and could only have gotten there based on something other than their own capacity (everyone talks about you, you just don't know it). I do love how this blog always points at corrupt Decatur when all we have to do is look at 34 and all the admin helpers, non case related detectives, PALS, asst. chiefs, majors, captains that everyday day maybe do one hour of work. While uniform officers are humping call to call, real detectives being assigned 60 cases a month. Our own redundancy is right in our own faces!

Anonymous said...

Dekalb Officers and others......AMEN! If you disgrace the badge and/or hadppen to be a dirt bag.... you need to be called out.

Just because we have badges doesn't mean we are above the law or deserve special treatment. It doesn't mean you can drive 90 and 100 miles per hour...it doesn't mean your food is free or 1/2 price.... It does mean "We've taken an Oath and we should do things a little better."

Trying to scam or circumvent the process and the law is not honorable and has no place in the list of options for a police officer....much less a supervisor who leads and holds others accountable.

IMHO

Anonymous said...

Has anyone of you people thought to stop and pray for this family? None of you REALLY know their story...Rorey, don't be distracted by criticism. Remember-the only taste of success some people have is when they take a bite out of you. May God continue to be with you.

Anonymous said...

@8:43 - So like the guy that chose to rev his engine and ride his motorcycle through a crowd of pedestrian protesters at occupy atlanta, at an intentionally faster speed than called for, inevitably creating a dangerous situation, and then crying about assault for being stopped and having his bike tipped over - is that an example of being a "dirtbag" and "bringing disgrace to the badge"?

Anonymous said...

Pile on Time....Remember when he (Rorey) got written up and suspended for having kept pieces of evidence in his looker? Won his appeal because the SGT used the wrong charge and only charged him with 1 count instead of 10. None of the upper management caught it. Yep at Center when his lock was cut off by the admin officer he got caught because he didnt read the notice explaining the reassignment of lockers. I would say he wouldnt of made rank because of that but who was in charge then. Making LT pay plus extra job that pays well he still didnt make his payments..Gezz latest it was cause he had educatinal expenses...Geezz welcome to that club didnt you hear of saving bonds or borrowing from 401? They have an emergency clause..Stupid is in all races, ranks and walks of life. ... PS at least it was car tags out of the property room...

Anonymous said...

IS THAT YOU ROREY?

Anonymous said...

@9:06 Is that you Rorey ??? I pray daily for officers in need...this is not an officer in need this is an officer that takes and takes and apparently has gotten away with it over the years...it is a shame. This job is had enough to do and to gain and keep respect from the public without officers nevermind commanding officers behaving this way and showing this type of code of ethics and morality.

Anonymous said...

@10:32, I call it Felony Obstruction, for assaulting a police officer, and Interference with Government Property. Stop trying to change the subject, you whinny dumbass. Rorey has no one to blame buy himself. He could have paid his mortgage but chose not to for a whole year.

Anonymous said...

In to response from my comment. Yes I do believe calling him out. But when the things we say on here think about who looks at what we say. Dekalb County Citizens and the public. Comments like these should stay behind closed doors. Not made for public to see. If you act like this I wonder how you act on the road. Requardless we still have more things to worry about. And everyone who works for the county has done nothing about it including me. It takes more than a ticket strike. Your tired of the CEO and his staff burning the county to the ground. Its time for something drastic that hits headlines. No! everyone afraid of losing our jobs. Hello the county is going bankrupt and we as employees sit letting the CEO and his staff do it. If everyone demands the CEO resign and refuse to work they can't do nothing what are they going to do fire us all. We have no raises, pensions going up and benefits are higher than before, furloughs forthcoming and were now losing officers and the fact that Brookhaven may become a city.

If we do nothing then we all are doomed and we still just suffer!

Anonymous said...

Its said that Rorey planned this whole thing of not paying because of a seminar he went to that advised him not to pay. Something about original paperwork must be transferred to the new loan holder. He fell for that and is now paying the price. He should have known better than to try and scam a bank. Trying to get something for nothing. Screw him for putting his family through this ordeal.

Anonymous said...

? Is what will Chief O'Brien do about this issue. If Rorey walks away with no demotion, termination or prosecytion. We will be let down as a whole!

Anonymous said...

@1:21's response to my 10:32 - I have no opinion on Rorey one way or another; never met him. He very well might be a scumbag (though I don't think stealing DVDs exactly qualifies for that, but it sounds like he is just generally lame and looking for cheap tricks), and/or more likely an idiot.

So I wasn't trying to change the subject in order to defend or deflect any criticism from Rorey. I'm just an amused spectator. I asked about the opinion on the motorcycle guy's actions because I was genuinely curious what you guys thought about it, particularly in relation to the kind of statement @8:43 made, which was great. Just making conversation, you know. And I thought it was sort of topical, because it was brought up several times either in this thread, or the comments on the previous 'Occutard' post.

SO - I never suggested what happened to the motorcycle wasn't felony obstruction or interference with government property. I was just wondering if the motorcycle's guys actions that lead to that situation would fit @8:43's statement. Obviously I think it does, I just wonder how you guys excuse it on your end? Again, I'm not defending the people that knocked him over - I'm just wondering if and why you would defend the cop, particularly when he makes you guys look really bad, which is supposedly one of the reasons y'all hate Rorey?

Wasnt Rorey was caught years before the video incedent with possession of others ID's? A lot of them....? Didnt he get a slap on the wrist from Major Farley or something like that? I think he played the race card then too if not mistaken. Just curious since its been aver a decade ago. Maybe an open records investigation is in order here...unless the records were secretly destroyed. Farley took care of one of his own thats what I understand. Maybe I'm totally mistaken.
Rorey you disgust me. Your a prime example of what wrong with this country. Im glad I never have to see you or Dekalb County ever again.

Occupy Atlanta has already shown the will cause problems for police, so what does it say about a cop who invites them somewhere else so they have an opportunity to cause problems for yet another department? Consider who we are talking about. Rorey got caught stealing on a part-time, tried to screw up a traffic job because the sgt running it wouldn't accommodate his Evening Watch schedule and has chumped other officers out of their part time jobs. Always looking for "something for nothing" and "what is in it for me?" And I am supposed to believe that his wife did this all by herself and he didn't know? This is typical behavior for him and Fate finally caught up. Ain't life a bitch??? He will probably play the race card and skate again, but that is his game. We as a department are the fools because we keep him.

Rorey is not a superior officer..merely a higher ranking one. He personifies the term backstabber. He steals PT jobs and he truly doesn't belong in the rank and file. Hopefully OB does the right thing and cuts ties with him. He is a sorry example for young officers of accountibility and integrity. IMHO

If any punishment is handed down it will be for appearances only (if that) just like the APD Major who let the mayor's brother drive off on a suspended license. He'll ultimately be rewarded later via promotion, etc. This is corruption as usual but they think we are too stupid to realize what happens behind the scenes. Sadly, DeKalb is so corrupt and arrogant they don't even bother with the appearance sake maneuvers any longer.

Anonymous said...

I worked with Rorey as an officer and when he made sgt. This is a prime example of a connected, protected, and corrupted DeKalb Officer. He was or is over the basketball team or something... He is ruining the department and the small shred of respect officers still have. DKPD needs an overhaul and terminate all of the scum. Just investigate this guy and you'll find plenty to send him packing. He is a thief and a fraudster. This isn't the first scam he has pulled.

I-Team....where are you? Here is another one you can bring down.

Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of D.U.I.s there are quite a few higher-ups in DeKalb with them. They should be retroactively terminated IMMEDIATELY.

I can tell you one thing regarding the promotional tests here, besides the obvious manipulation of the list (stacking). The boards frown upon anyone using a stronger vocabulary than their own. Try and keep it at one or two syllable words in your responses, throwing in street lingo such as TRU DAT whenever possible. Then they will see you as one of them and not be intimidated because you have not shown them any education or superior intellect. GOOD LUCK...
