Any word on how the investigation is going in to the Officer's wife that was assaulted last week. Hope an arrest is coming soon.

Just how is DeKalb county government going to get out of the financial mess it has gotten into?
1) DeKalb government leadership must do their jobs and negotiate in good faith with Brookhaven citizens immidiately to avoid seccesion from the county.
2) The county must reorganize and downsize to a sustainable level. Mangement staff should be reduced by 1/3.
3)It is more than apparent that DeKalb governments CEO form of government has been ineffective and inefficient for two decades. CEO staff is bloated and overpaid. The GA legislative delegation should move to abolish the CEO and enstate a county manager form of government.
4) County political leadership needs an attitude adjustment. The CEO and much of the BOC seem intent upon grabbing all the perks and entitlements they can for personal and political gain. If a serious investigation was made of DeKalb political leadership, just how many commissioners or CEO would be indicted? My best guess is at least three.
5) DeKalb citizens must start electing political leadership based upon character, qualifications and financial responsibilty to the citizens.
My opinionated opinion.
Best of luck mates!

To 0653 am, my take home car is doing just fine, thanks for asking. I made $320 riding around on my J2 last weekend. Mileage on my p.o.v. is holding steady. Still enjoying the new car smell! My morale is holding just fine, I appreciate you asking. Can't write those tickets fast enough.

Sgt. Adkinson, Officer Sinclair, Officer K. Jackson 10-42 for the remainder. Thank God we are starting to clean our own house by taking out the trash....

Ken...Give up. It's a Socialist BOC and a Socialist population. You can't change that mentality. They should change the Dekalb County to the flag of Greese with the two little guy's from the Dekalb Co logo in the middle of it.

I'm with anon 9:30. Any update on Mrs. Banks or the investigation? It's on the news for a day and then you hear nothing else. I'd like to know how she is doing and who did this to her.

5:01 that was low, but quite amusing.

6:03 hang it up. That sh*t wont happen. You wont that take–home, get ready to take that CID test next month. And if your lucky, or have a buddy up there, you'll get that TH.

Anon 8:01; Hargh!
As JP Jones said "I haven't begun to fight!".
We have been through too much together for me to give up on y'all.
On the lighter side.
I propose a new DeKalb county logo.
On a roundral,
two figures, one buns up kneeling, the second wearing a crown, superimposed and mounting the first.
underneath the county motto.
"Nos irrumbo omnes"
The very best of luck guys and gals!

Take Home Cars!!!....I've told you all once....I'll say it again...uniform is wrecking brand new spanking cars left and right....a brand new crown vic(black one) totally out fitted is 62,000.00 a shot.....I know...I see the invoices....but if you talk to any prec. motor pool officer....or motor maint. personnel that works on these cars.....every swinging month..like clock work...a list is completed and sent to lavista road for a monthly over sight before it goes to Decatur.

Now I know your saying...if we had take homes....we would takecare of them better.....maybe...maybe not...you know how many officers I caught speeding.....take the paint of my car...or being just flat out stupid out of jurisdiction......go head and say it....then punish them......

One concern is that officers that live in apt. complex's.....staff is afraid the unit would be broken into and .."Official Equipment" be taken.........

bottom line...you guys...want...want...and want more.....that's cool...and I'm all for it....and I want as well....but until we slow down and re-think the way we ABUSE the equipment......take home is going to be off the table........

It would be a great moral booster.....God Knows we need something.....but until we start taking care of what we have.....you can crap in one hand and want in the other......

THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO PUT IT!!!!
TAKECARE OF THE EQUIPMENT-REDUCE THE COMPLAINTS AT MOTOR MAINT. TO LAVISTA ROAD=

Then maybe....command will re-look at things.......WE ARE IN CHARGE OF WHAT WE WANT!!!!

Everyone wants to complain....but no-one is willing to do anything about it......just like the comm.'s meetings in Decatur. we know when they are.....we all bitch about the conditions...but I DON'T SEE ANYONE DOWN THERE SAYING OR DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!...If my wife and I can go down there and get 6 minutes( 3 a piece )why can't anyone else????

It's up to us.....I've told you what it will take.....

NOW!!!!...WHAT ARE YOU PREPARED TO DO?????

As usual......nothing...I'm sure....until then...I'll kept writing the J2 up and sending it up to Lavista Road.

To Anon. 6:53 - We don't show up at the meetings (and will not in the future) for one simple, honest reason: RETALIATION. It's been shown time and time again that if you speak against this establishment, you can kiss your "life" as you know it goodbye... You WILL be shipped off to some horrible shift in some precinct 3 bazillion miles from your house and you'll stay in time-out until they decide you're not a threat anymore. Unfortunately, some of us have to stay quiet and count on those without a job in this department to scream for us. It SUCKS, but it's the God's honest truth. I pray EVERY DAY for some anonymous whistle-blower (that can't be traced back to a cop) to BLOW the WHOLE TOP off this place and it's corruption!!

As far as the issue of take-home cars, I WISH that was our biggest problem in this department. Prioritize, people.

You guy's are lucky they give you take home pants.

To the s**thead who keeps bragging about his or her take home car we get the point. You kissed ass and wrote a million tickets. This is why we will never get a raise because people with a personal agenda continue to try to suck up.

Anon 3:21 - don't take the bait. Probably someone (maybe even a higher up) posting trash to turn one division against another. Divide and conquer, it keeps the rank and file from uniting... and it works.

I am so glad I finally retired from DeKalb. I never have to see that evil place again. I pity my police officers brothers and sisters still having to work there and I pray for you every day.
I gave the best part of my life to help protect the citizens of DeKalb county only to have them continually elect thieves and fools to run the place. I watched as the best department in entire southeastern United States was driven into the ground and ruined by politicians and corrupt cops put in places of high authority by these same crooked politicians.
I grew up in Dekalb and watched fine neighborhoods turn into war zones so bad that I could not even take my children to show them the places where I played as a child. I watched Belvedere Plaza and Columbia Mall (Avondale Mall to you newbies), and even I-285 being built and then watched it turn into what it has become. I remember when certain parts of DeKalb were rural agracultural places with farm fields and pastures.
Ive watched a lot of folks come and go and ive lived in a place where jobs were everywhere and the quality of life was outstanding. Now there are no jobs and the quality of life is awful.

Someone please tell me why this happend. Who allowed this to take place. While I was working the graveyard shift for decades protecting yall, and getting injured constantly and almost killed several times, who decided to ruin the place? What happend to DeKalb didnt just happen, it was an intentional, planned destruction. I hope your happy with they outcome and I am glad I retired and moved away.
