Today's gossip at the Dekalb County Complex seems to be forming that yesterday's Court hearing was an attempt by CEO Ellis and his sidekick Kevin Ross to block the public release of the almost completed Special Grand Jury Report, which supposedly will include serious allegations about crIminal conduct. I am not an attorney but evidently this Special Grand Jury is not authorized to actually indict anyone, but their report can be used by a Regular Grand Jury to indict the suspects. Some of you legal beagles will know how this all works and maybe enlighten us.

It sure didnt take DeKalb long to fall apart without Dunwoody. Just think of the spanking yaw are gonna take without Brookhaven and soon to be Lakeside.

"secret" was the media's decription on the hearing to make it sound sexy. a hearing concerning testimony or instructions to a grand jury will be avail after the GJ concludes its term.....this GJ does nt have the authority to issue indictments

Wow,every aspect of Dekalb County Government is screwed up. I agree with you, the citizens continue to elect idiots. Decent candidates will never get elected because they refuse to go along with the program. Dekalb has always elected self-servants, not public servants!

This comment was posted at the Peach Pundit blog:

"this past week, shortly after Dekalb CEO Burrell Ellis got a preview copy of the report from the Special Grand Jury investigating corruption at Dekalb County, 2 agency heads at Dekalb County announced their resignations. Now it turns out that Massey-Bowers has had their lucrative lobbying contract terminated by the Dekalb County Commission, headed up for now by Commissioner Lee May. Seems that Lewis Massey and Bruce Bowers have been sharing their $150,000 lobbying contract with Kevin Ross, and they have concocted a cover story that Kevin Ross was handling “Federal lobbying”…. the only glitch in their cover story is that Dekalb County already has a Federal Government lobbyist named The Ferguson Group…so we will have to wait a few more days to see what the Special Grand Jury reports says about all of these shenanigans. If Lewis Massey, former GA Secretary of State, and Bruce Bowers, son of Mike Bowers and head of Sonny Perdue’s Teansition Team, are criminally incriminated, then this Dekalb story will become even bigger."
