Will Chief Cedric Do The Right Thing?

Ok Chief Cedric, what are you going to do now? If an officer is indicated he is immediately fired.

Of course you can't fire your boss, but are you going to continue to guard his house? At taxpayer expense?

Come on Cedric, do the right thing, pull the officers off guard duty detail now!

Show that you are different..........or show that you are the same.

DeKalb County is the "Laughing Stock" I can't wait to get out of this county. -CEO indited, What's next?- A Dekalb Co. officer letting his girlfriend drive his patrol car? (Grant Forest Sub-division in Ellenwood -Redwood Trace-) Dekalb Sucks!

Let's get a petition signed and submitted to Governor Deal to remove Burrell Ellis. If Burrell don't stand behind the Police Department, Police Department don't stand behind him.

OUST ELLIS FROM OFFICE IMMEDIATELY

One thing I noticed about CEO Ellis is that he is/was fearful about his personal safety. His decision to oust his DKPD security detail in favor of DKSO deputies was based upon Ellis's analysis of unpredictable Chief Bolton. That later on Ellis ordered DKPD to guard his home indicated that Ellis had lost his fear of DKPD.
DeKalb politicians spend a hell of a lot of the citizens cash to ensure their personal safety. This all occurred when bizarre DK sheriff Dorsey assassinated our beloved Derwin Brown, God rest his soul.
DeKalb politicians allocated millions to beef up their security, Card key locks and officers were supplied for both the CEO and BOC.
This has had extremely negative effects for DeKalb government and its citizens, effectively isolating the politicians from their constituents. Ellis threw the GIS department out of their offices and took over the entire top floor of the Ponce bldg. He then locked out everyone but his staff from access to the top-floor. Both the CEO and BOC consistently refused to tour the county departments and facilities unless it was for political gain or expediency. DeKalb politicians lost touch with the employees and under good 'ole Vern's eight years “reign of terror” effectively quashed any form of dissent from the employees and directors. The CEO/BOC started taking poor advice from their political advisers and making insane decisions such as antagonizing Dunwoody and Brookhaven citizens to incorporate into separate political entities.
That is one of the reasons I hammer the DeKalb politicians so much. Its one thing to make an idiotic mistake but most learn from them. Not DeKalb politicians and the citizens that vote these jerks into office.
It takes real effort and hard work to ruin a county government in less than 30 years. DeKalb politicians are proud of their efforts.
Kinda sux mates!

Dont't get your hopes up to soon!!Indictment is a long, long way from conviction! Bet he doesn't do "a single day"! It was a constant stall tactic re; prosecuting V.J.,promising the fed's were building a "super case",to prosecute him from a--2--z!! BULLSHIT! NOTHING EVER HAPPENED!! Untouched/unscathed/no worse for wear!! Now the crooked son of a bitch is running for a vacant senate seat. This already cash strapped, financially mismanaged county will wind up spending million"s of dollar's just to prosecute this case. If,by the grace of God,he is found guilty,he will probably be sentenced to minimum incarceration,if at all,or the ultimate joke/PROBATION. Is it just me,or has anybody else noticed that all of this has been happening since the "county/departmental heads demographics" has changed in the past so many years ??(CEO'S,SHERIFF'S,CHIEF'S/UPPER MANAGEMENT IN P.D./S.O.,DEPT HEADS/COUNTY SERVICES,BOARD OF EDUCATION,on,and on,and on).Everybody want's to be in charge, but none of them can be in control !! Don't be surprized if this doesn't turn into another "govt conspiracy" against the black man. NOT HATING,JUST STATING THE OBVIOUS!!

Hey Ken C., how about the posters suggestion of a PETITION. Is that a possibility? I for one have NO confidence in him, and his ability to be honest. You don't get 15 charges filed against you when your innocent. Oh he may get off through some fancy legal team, but he isn't innocent. Is that something the DA himself can initiate? Or will it have to come from citizens and or employees? Anyone have a clue how to get this started. Seems I've heard of people being removed from office in a similar type method????
Oh, and by the way Chief are we still providing him security? Seems kinda illegal in itself! Sure glad I'm not asked to perform that duty. Don't know if my oath of office covered anything about providing protection for a suspect. Might have to stand for something before I fall for that...Don't believe I am the only Officer that feels that way, and don't believe you could be fired for refusing the detail. Written up maybe, fired don't believe he could fire everyone if we all stood together and refuses. Come on Chief, integrity is what you have when NO one is watching. But rest assured WE are watching.

Alert.... the CEO's new ride's were purchased using the Police Dept's budget line.

The chief was quick to jump in front of cameras a few weeks ago and say, 'I have zero tolerance for foolishness,' when referring to officer misconduct. I'm sure he won't say one word about the CEO. In fact, I heard him say at his swearing in ceremony that the CEO was a GREAT man. The more things change, the more they stay the same!

The Chief Embezzlement Officer might have a few charges dismissed, certainly not all.

What this means, is that when the trial convenes and a conviction comes along, the beloved CEO will be changing residences without the various luxuries that he and his family have been accustomed to all these years. No more drinking fine wine, high priced dinners, personal driver, fancy salary, and all of the perks.

Bread and water, $.75 per hour salary, hard bed, small window, little television and radio, told when to get up & when to sleep, buying personal items from the commissary, and the other stuff that is supplied by one of the State Of Georgia's hotels.

The days of wine and roses are going to be over (hopefully soon) and this could not have happened to a finer individual.

Hopefully, DeKalb County will overcome WBE and his bullshit.

Holy Sheet Bat Man !!!!

OMG !!!

Lee May will now be the New CEO !!!

How can things get any worse ???

Anon 0840,
Our chief is a hypocrite! He certainly will not say anything about the CEO. I think we should refuse to write another ticket until the CEO steps down. Why should we generate revenue for a crook? Just write all warnings. Lets see what supervisor or chief tries to stop us. All county employees should be teated the same. Get indicted - get removed from your duties!

Lol....Something tells me those officers guarding Ellis will be receiving an 83 courtesy of the Department of Corrections.....not quite the same status symbol.

Per county policy officers can't fraternize with felons much less guard them at their home. Rules are rules...

Anon 9:53, I hadn't considered that thought. Brilliant! After thinking about it a petition from the citizens to address issues is an important right of American citizens and been used successfully many times to rectify real and perceived improprieties.
It would be easy to do, set up a web-site, post volunteers in public areas, and troll for signers. I don't think there will be a lack of volunteers or signatures.
Now this brings up several questions. Exactly what are the goals of the petition?
My opinion is that it would abolish DeKalb's CEO form of government and install the county manager/county chairman form of government. That needs to be debated and specified.
We need advice on the legalities behind a public petition and where we can post volunteers.
We need discussion and advice as to who and what to address our petition or grievance.
We need to find enough volunteers willing to spend a couple of four hour days canvasing for signers.
We need to survey the county for best public locations for access to the citizens.
I like this idea of a public petition and will research and run with the issue.
The DOS blog can help by providing guidance on what the DeKalb rules and regulations are on canvasing for signers on county property.
One last thought. While many of you might be tempted to sign a petition to abolish the DeKalb CEO office consider the past and present history of retribution by DeKalb political officials of employees dissent against DeKalb policies and political decisions. This is no game, I advise no active employee or officer participate in this campaign. You can anonymously advise us but this “game” is best left to people like me that the county cannot reach out and touch.
I intend to pursue this.
This county has too many good employees and citizens to allow the politicians to run the county into the fracken' ground with out trying something to stop these bozo's driving the county to ruins.
Who's with me?

No the chief will not do the right thing, he is a very smooth talker and tells everyone what he thinks they want to hear. I was very impressed the first time I met him and he said and acted like a police chief I would want to work for. So I did what he asked I became positive and tried to get my officers and my peers to give him a chance and to stop all the negativity about Dekalb and start supporting one another and be positive about our department. It’s hard to stay positive and keep other people believing when the chief does things that only show his true colors. He keeps an assistant chief because she looks good but yet she can’t speak without sounding like an idiot and she is incompetent. He has a Major who is a bully and all he does is threaten officers and truth be known he should have been fired a long time ago for being paid for part time jobs while he was attending a school out of state. This is just two things the list goes on and o, no chief I don’t support you anymore and you are just a typical spineless puppet for the board of commissioners and your values and ethics well you must have left them in Texas

Chief- you need to do your job. You need to clean house and the corruption within it. You have assistant police chiefs who have no business being in the position they are in. You know who they are and I know you've heard of their past discrepancies. You have worms in the dept that think because they are "friends" with some of the command staff that they can do what they want. Look hard at who you have in charge. This place is a joke and will continue to be so until someone has the balls to do what's right. If that's not you, please leave. We have enough corruption and people turning their heads.
As far as the CEO, same rules apply to him as a cop indicted on felony charges. Wake up people of Dekalb. Look what you've created with the crooks you've put in office. You can't turn on the news without hearing of multiple violent crimes. If this is the community you want to live in, so be it but the results are the fault of the citizens and your children are the ones suffering. They are not safe and can't get a descent education in this county. Think about it.

The chief has shown his true colors. He says Ellis is innocent. Wow! Ok chief, if you believe Ellis is innocent then you obviously must believe that our DA is a liar and dishonest. Is that really the message you want to send to your officers? I say we take a stand against Ellis and the chief right now by not showing up for Ellis' meeting with employees Monday, or the chief's upcoming meetings with supervisors. It would send a powerful message if not one officer showed up to these bullshit meetings. The DA has my full support!

Anonymous said...

Anon 10:56.
Im with you! I cant believe the chief supports the CEO, nor can I believe he's dumb enough to say it. This chief is just like the rest, only concerned about making himself look good to his boss. News flash chief - your boss is going to prison! Why would the new CEO keep you as chief, knowing you supported Ellis and not the DA? The DA isnt going anywhere!

Anonymous said...

Did it ever occur to anyone that the Chief is smart enough to know he shouldn't go around publicly saying that he thinks his boss, who can still fire him, is guilty? I get the Chief knows Ellis won't be around much longer.

Anonymous said...

Can't we all just get high together ?

Anonymous said...

Anon 1219.
We get that; duh! The chief should just keep quiet on the issue. Instead he feels it necessary to say Ellis is a good, honest man. How stupid does that make the chief look? A man indicted on 15 counts of dishonesty. Like the earlier poster said, if he believes Ellis is honest, then he must believe the DA is dishonest. Besides, I thought the chief had low tolerance for foolishness? Obviously not!

Anonymous said...

Chief how much longer do we put up with this foolishness as you put it. first you have an idiot in charge of CID. you have an idiot in charge of uniform. you just put an idiot in Tucker pct who made a false arrest. I believe thats false imprisonment, lied in a police report to cover it up, and she only gets 8 hours really. Then you let your idiot CID chief put the idiot back in charge of Narcotics who screwed it up to start with. Hell why not put Mears back in there also. Now you have an idiot who has never been a detective running Property Crimes. Way to go Yarbrough oh wait you have never been a detective either. No wonder CID is screwed up and no one wants to be a detective anymore. Hey Lee May when you do get in office maybe yo can send this glorified airport security guard back where he came from and get us a real CHIEF of Police.

I don't know which Major or Asst chief anon 2:01 is speaking of and don't really care but if you are calling someone out for being a coward and not revealing who they are dont you think you should reveal who you are. It's just funny your anonymous and are mad because someone else is also.

Anon 2:00pm,
Dont forget Yarbrough has a lieutenant in CID who has an Untruthfulness on his record. Some get fired for lying, others get a specialized position with a take home car.

Which CID lieutenant has an untruthfulness? We would like to know because that should immediately disqualify him/her because of court.

At least two comments say Chief Alexander say's he believes the CEO is innoncent and that he is a good honest man. Can someone please give the details as to when and where the Chief said this, if he did say it (a link to a news story or something)?

re; 6/24--2:00. Unqualified Lt's definitely "ain't no new thing", in C.I.D.! Remember that super ass kissing/back-stabbing N. Moss?(they just don't come any more incompetent than that)! There was another(1) one, though. A Sgt whose job was to keep the Chief of D's unit washed, oil changed, and picked up his laundry. While he was posing as a C.I.D. Commander of Property Crimes, his job, according to a senior Det. was to be the phone watch, and keep the lump's out of the sugar bowl ! If I'm lying, I'm flying !! If the "good",experienced, motivated Det's gave up like ,everybody else had, nothing would have ever been solved.(but, that was when the cream of the uniform crop, were chosen by C.I.D to become detective's. If they couldn't cut it,they were "busted back to the bag"! FAR,FAR CRY,FROM NOW !!! At least I understand they are "forced" to wear suit's and ties again, and at least look like "a real detective"! Could you imagine a detective coming to your house, GOD forbid, to perform a death notification, wearing a Dick's Sporting Good's athletic shirt ?(why, hell, might as well run by Party City, and buy a chicken costume! Makes you want to laugh,or cry,or BOTH !!

To : The New Police Chief, Cedric Alexander

Got your phone number the other day from my Commissioner, only took one day.

So I called the Chief's Office to get someone on his staff's e-mail addresse to express some of my concerns about crime in South DeKalb. This was over two weeks ago, haven't heard from his office yet.

I've seen the new Chief on TV now several times after killing's and mayhem in the county.

Well Dear Chief alexander, take yer ass down to Moreland Ave and Cedar Groove Rds. That's in extreme South DeKalb. We got some fine dancin whores, drugs and illegal video gambling machines are everywhere. Take care of these things and we will know that you are serous about crime in DeKalb.

Illegal Video Poker machines abound in East and South DeKalb. When we see you busting this shit up then you might be helping the citizens of DeKalb County = The New Chief showing up after someone is shot dead in DeKalb don't do shit to protect me.

Anonymous said...

Captain Mears - anon 10:28 is calling you. Cant you contact your "special friend" at DOR to work on this together?

Anon 2pm
Yarbrough doesnt need CID experience to run CID. He's one of the smartest people ever to walk the face of the earth. Well, at least in his eyes. When he got hired here he didnt even have to go to the academy. When he was in the Marines he managed to get 12 confirmed kills. Dont know how he did it from his type writer, but he'll tell you he did it. He doesnt always drink beer, but when he does, its Dos Equis. Stay thirsty my friends!

Remove Ellis and assume a form of gov't like other counties around here....the savings would be astronomical. Dekalb Co. is the only county with a CEO form of government.
I do not trust Ellis or think that there is an honest bone in his body.
