You will still get your beloved ticket money as GSP will refer the offender to the court of the jurisdiction and it will free up DKPD officers to respond to calls. However, don't expect the thousands of tickets daily as GSP is not going to send every trooper to Dekalb to make your money for you. For you officers who love traffic duty, you can work radar on the surface streets like APD has done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-10777026187201122862010-05-01T21:28:56.475-04:002010-05-01T21:28:56.475-04:00Caps. Just like they demand we respond to their alarms.

And I'll be honest, if I'm paying for police services and have a fender bender I expect my police department to show up. Try filing an insurance claim otherwise. The whole exchange information and file later becomes a huge problem later on. How can anyone determine fault if you don't see a scene. Now if Georgia becomes a no-fault state then that would change. But I'm guessing you don't even know what a no-fault state means. You'll find 95% of all departments respond to accidents.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-27394217910438802342010-04-29T13:07:44.607-04:002010-04-29T13:07:44.607-04:00Ok obviously some of the Anonymous writers are par...Ok obviously some of the Anonymous writers are part of the Command Staff "We do it that way because we've always done it that way rookie". Unless it involves a fatality we don't go period. The insurance companies have investigators and accident re-constructionist. Let them figure it out. The only reason we go now is because thats what we did when Bobby (and further back) was in charge and if we were not concerned about the money generated from tickets then how come every time a poor beat officer doesn't issue a citation he gets his a@% handed to him.
Let the alarm company's respond to the alarms and the insurance company's respond to the accident sense.
Sounds like some of you are afraid you will have to do some real police work. And stop beating up on radio. The only reason most of you have a job as a cop is because your to stupid to work communications.
See I've just solved two of your biggest problems and insulted most of you in one post.Wise Guynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-84628819106458562372010-04-29T12:18:04.535-04:002010-04-29T12:18:04.535-04:00Cause our pissed off Operators will automatically ...Cause our pissed off Operators will automatically say, Complainant request PD to 59Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-70647430632812864602010-04-29T12:15:06.436-04:002010-04-29T12:15:06.436-04:00Lets start with who going discuss the accident wit...Lets start with who going discuss the accident with the drivers.

Then later when they call to make the report over the phone.

Then when the drivers dispute the each other accident versions.

Then they will complain and guess what, we will put hours into investigating and writing this report.

Now it becomes a waste of time for everyone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-56892462557759739952010-04-29T11:05:36.634-04:002010-04-29T11:05:36.634-04:00It sure would work in Dekalb, we just need to impl...It sure would work in Dekalb, we just need to implement it. Its no different than with the false alarms we waste our time responding to. Again theres something Dr. Bell has let fall through the crack, when we were supposed to be charging for false alarms Dr. Bell forgot to implement a billing system (what a genius) just like he didnt know Recorders Court was not collecting fine. I say let the persons involved in an accident work it out with there insurance company's not the police, and if an officer needs to respond had out a SR13 and let it be a civil matter not a Revenue Collection for the County like it is now. Then the Officer can bill the Insurance company's for his testimony as an expert witness ($75.00) an hour since they will 10-99 us.Wise Guynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5067361049814621194.post-76320498382534236782010-04-29T10:52:16.416-04:002010-04-29T10:52:16.416-04:00Why is DeKalb different?
