Motor Officer Goes Down UPDATE

Scott was released from AMC today (December 9). With the help of the Motor guys he has a hospital bed in our study, and a special walker. He is happy to be home and resting comfortably. He is looking at 7 months until he can put weight on his right leg and return to light duty.

I can not thank everyone enough for their prayers and support.

Jacquie Armistead
Sergeant M.S. Armistead was involved in an on duty motorcycle accident. His injuries consist of a compound fracture of his tibia/fibula, a fractured knee cap, a broken thumb and a concussion.
He is scheduled for surgery at the Atlanta Medical Center.

Our prayers and thoughts are with him.

Guys....keep Scott and his family in your prayers.....he took a hell of a hit on that motor....and he won't be able to walk through a metal dectector ever again without setting off the alarms.

Like, love, hate, don'tcare for him....matters not....in these times...we help our brother. Go by and see him at Atlanta Medical Center and offer any assistance if you can.

He's old school type of an officer guys...so take a minute and go by and say hello....from what I saw....he's lucky to be this side of daylight.

I witnessed this terrible accident and was screaming w/o realizing I was doing so. Didn't know the Officer's name but kept praying that he survived. Just so happy to know he'll make it! Concerned.

I want to thank everyone for your prayers and thoughts. Scott's injuries are very severe. The surgeons were able to save his leg, and he'll hopefully recover 70% usage in the next few years, barring any infections. He has pins in his thumb and a severe concussion.

He will be at Atlanta Medical at least to the first of next week.

If you stay in this line of work long enough you WILL get seriously injured or worse. Treat it like military service and exit when you can after serving.

Get a competent workers comp lawyer now, and not one of those that advertise on the TV

One to many of us get injured on motors, keep them for parades, but regular traffic enforcement is not cost effective with the the attached liability of personal injury.
