I wonder how many Dekalb Officers will jump ship
Let that person be HONEST, OUTSTANDING INTEGRITY, COMPASSIONATE, INTELLIGENT, and most important, NOT A CROOK.
If that person can be of the previous mentioned attributes, then the City of Brookhaven won't have any problems. If these attributes will last a long time, that remains to be seen.
At the very least, it will far better than ANYTHING or ANYONE Dekalb County has been prior to Chief OB. If the Dekalb County Gov't could be put on a barge and sent out to sea, it would be a blessing to the taxpayers. We all will see what and how Brookhaven tranforms from now on.
Good luck to Brookhaven and unfortunately continued disgrace to Dekalb County.
Once again people don't understand. Until the BOC stop running things, there will never be a good chief no matter who he or she is. People keep saying chief OB rocks and chief OB this. He didn't do a dam thing because he couldn't. So stop dick riding chief OB. His hands were tied, this new hands will be tied so stop it. Until u get rid of this BOC nothing will change. Same old excuses, same old politics same old shit.
As a police chief for Brookhaven you are expected to "stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl" well that kneeling thing is expected from subordinates by the crowd that created Brookhaven. And since we J1ed the mayor for DUI when he was a kid I don't think DKPD is high on his list of hires. Has anyone else noticed the guy kinda looks like Boss Hogg?
Leadership will not be the most outstanding characteristic for the Chief of Brookhaven. There is a difference in doing the right thing and doing what you are told to do. This Chief will toe the line for the angry old guys and politicians that created this so called city. He or she will not have much back bone.
WELL...? What's the new chief's gameplan? Time is wasting...
Dont worry folks, their city administration is already talking to a chief in North Fulton as well as several applicants in Gwinnett.
They are not at all interested in bringing white shirts from the corrupt dump of a PD admin. that has become Dekalb.
To the newly elected city officials of Brookkhaven, as a Dekalb County Police Officer I say look away from this corrupt place and run!
We all are not corrupt, but the majority are and ruined my reputation among others. How could I ever get a fair shake with a new department with my resume having Dekalb Listed.
Not like I cant list my employment history, hell I've been around over 20 years, what do I do leave that part of my life omitted, just to be asked so where have you worked in the last 20 years?

Maybe Moody,Graham,T.B.,or Flemister will apply .That will show them for bailing.
The most effective action a new chief could take in this dept would be to immediately drop all the pomp and circumstance, have an honest, candid discussion with line officers ONLY at roll calls, and have the supervisors handle calls proving their worth while frank discussions are being held. Then and ONLY then can trust and healing take place. Otherwise it will be the same broken record.

HAHAHA, YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE BEEN STUCK IN DEKALB FOR TOO LONG.
Brookhaven, like Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, etc have great chiefs and they actually use their resources widely to GASP!....serve the public and actually reduce crime.
They actually investigate cases now in north Fulton cities and Dunwoody instead of just throwing them in a file cabinet and never assigning a detective like what Dekalb does to half its reports.
Dekalb is the Detroit of the south, a place ruined by corrupt black democrats. PERIOD.

Even the greenest , most inexperienced , " rookie" homicide detective knows that the "SPOUSE" , is always , "ALWAYS" , the first poss suspect you look at . I'm surprized they didn't throw her a parade !! But , in all fairness to the Dwdy P.D. "chief" , he did hire old , burnt out , DeKalb detectives . I think the lead detective was a former "juvie" investigator who worked for Nikki- "THE CHIEF'S BARBER" Moss. They did good to solve a smoking gun domestic murder . SO MUCH FOR THE SERVING THE PUBLIC AND ACTUALLY REDUCING CRIME plug . You can't blame all the incompetence on race or gender in this job , anymore . INCOMPETENCE IS INCOMPETENCE , any way you cut it .( wrong people in the wrong jobs.) . Bad supervision . Just plain old bad supervision !!!!!!!!!
Dunwoody PD has a far higher clearance rate for part 1 crimes than Dekalb ever dreamed of having when it had Dunwoody.

No , the stats are about the same. The Dunwoody cityhooders lied about the policing they were receiving from DKPD. They needed some rally point to enrage the masses and scaring the citizens into believing crime was out of control was their rally point to get out the vote. If the perimeter center decides to break away from Dunwoody for its own city expect to see the same tactics.
Dwdy P.D. ,seriously ? Part 1 crime clearance ? How stylish. Guess that " spoiled little rich kid " crime is totally out of control. Dwdy parent's response has always been "How dare you accuse my child, you obviously do not realize to whom you are addressing. I pay your salary. I belong to the same country club as your chief". Out here in the "badlands", we still call them felony and occasional misdemeanor crimes. This agency has never,ever been dogged/punked out on t.v. by the G.B.I., for gross incompetence, for any kind of investigation. Certainly not a high profile homicide. But,please cont your "hug a thug" program , so our perps will all come up there. It will lighten our staggering case load. You might want to ask for help, next time.
