This statement was received by an anonymous email so I decided to post it.

The big question is what will happen with the Dekalb county police department now?

Chief Ramos is obviously not happy here and it seems very apparent that the officers who work for her do not want her here and do not respect her. After it was made public that Chief Ramos had applied for the chief of police in Austin Texas, she had made the statement that she had done all she can do for Dekalb county and she wanted to take on a new task in Texas.

After Chief Ramos did not make the final three in the Texas job, she stated she has withdrawn her name from the position to make it appear it was her decision.

Ramos does not want to be here in Dekalb county and is not under any contract so why is the C.E.O. keeping her in place, the morale is the worst it has been in 30 years and more officers are leaving than we are hiring. Ramos is just one of many problems with the police department, but it would be a good start and a good step in the right direction to show the officers you want to do the right thing and get rid of someone who does not want to be here.

it looks like we are stuck with chief Cardi B for a while, please throw me a life preserver so I can survive.

if we all donate some money and sick time can we entice her to leave

Austin is a liberal city and they saw how screwed up she is and what she did to our department, now no one will hire her.

she can take her two side pieces Curtis Williams and Tad Golden with her, please just leave

The media is working on this story at this very moment. As usual, Dekalb will fail to get out in front of it and once again look incompetent.

I have had 6 chiefs since I became a DeKalb officer and throughout my career and promotions, I can honestly say I have never worked for a more incompetent leader or chief in my law enforcement and military career. I am thankful for my career here and the friends I have made I am lucky that I can leave in 4 years. I do feel very bad for those who are stuck here and those who have to work for our current command staff.

when you have a Captain who commits adultery on a weekly basis and the chief just protects him that tells you we have a bunch of clowns running this department. look at who she is promoting, the likes of Albritton and Williams, we have spineless idiots in leadership roles.

all I ask is if Albritton gets promoted please let him stay in SSD, we do not want him in uniform we deal with enough BS on the road we don't need a prick like him breathing down our necks.

Ramos is not going anywhere because she has ruined this department and no one will hire her, we are stuck with the evil woman.

Michael Thurmond please open your eyes and get rid of her! She is a disgrace!

Life outside of this shit hole department is very nice! Why would you stay there unless you have the old pension? And even then it’s still worth more than gold to leave this place. You’re risking your ass for that shitty retirement. What is now like 1% a year!?! Is this a joke? After all your contributions insurance and then you got to deal with dick holes like Golden and that turd Albritton?? Get out your life will change for the better! Misery loves company right Chief?????

Golden is now compared to Albritton. Hahaha. What a shit show this department is.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to reach out and tell you there are other options, especially for younger officers who are not locked in to the 82% pension. I left Dekalb in 2014 after being there 12 years. I have not looked back. There are much better places to work. It is easy to make the change? No. Not easy at all. There are many difficulties that come with changing a career. But they can all be overcome.

If you are younger than 35 (technically the cutoff is 37) and still interested in law enforcement you should look into the federal agencies. They all have better pensions and pay than Dekalb. They also have a 20 year retirement plan. Other former officers who have joined one of the federal departments can give more insight into their recruitment and pay.

If you are looking at doing something different altogether, the private sector pays more and is overall less stressful (For me personally it has been). The company I joined when I left Dekalb is currently hiring in Georgia, many other states as well. I have been in Los Angeles since 2014 and I love it. The pay rate for Georgia employees is significantly higher than starting pay for local or state police. Right now the guaranteed pay for associates in Georgia is $51,500.00 after 16 weeks. It then goes up to $57,500.00 after the first year. At the two year mark it is $62,000.00 with the potential to being $76,500.00 if promoted to a leadership role. Not to mentioned the OT and travel opportunities. There is plenty of OT for people that want it. Also the associates that want to travel get to see the world - literally.

I know it's not for everybody but if you are in relatively decent shape and have a desire to leave Dekalb check out GDBA.com You can also reach out to me directly if you have any questions or want to chat. My email is surefire2248@gmail.com
I wish all of you luck and hope you all remain safe out there.

Albritton the Turd!! Lol

She's the highest paid Chief ever and makes more than the Director but is gone like one week out of every month. If anyone tried to take off as much time as she does they'd be written up. She's hardly ever here and when she is she doesn't know what's going on in the department.

You all could re-hire John E. Pearson. Sheriff Scandrett just ran him off last week.

It is time for the people in the county to demolish the DKPD and let the Sheriff handle all law enforcement At least the people can decide who is in charge every 4 years. If a Chief is trying to leave then that person looses e ability to encourage officers to stay Be safe. Retired Sergeant Harry Stiles
