Dekalb County is one of the lowest-paying Departments in the Metro area. Dekalb has the worst benefits and retirement package in the state.

the command staff will tell you we have over 600 officers in Dekalb, if you actually count each officer and all the divisions the actual number is around 400. they do not want the public to know the truth. we are losing officers and cant hire new ones that want to put up with the crap in this job.

if I could leave Dekalb I would do it tomorrow, worst thing i ever did is come to work here, now I am stuck for 5 more years.

I have two interviews with other agencies next week. I will be gone by march.

Chief Ramos "Cardi B" has single-handed ruined this department. the worst Chief in Dekalbs history. What a shame to let her continue to stay and destroy what used to be a great place to work.

if you are reading this blog and thinking about coming to work here please do not apply to work here go somewhere else. this place is not fit to work for.

Between Chief Ramos and Captain Nicole Rutland, they’re running officers away daily! Rutland just ran a great officer away this week. They don’t care about officers leaving. An internal investigation needs to be conducted, on how officers are treated within this Department. CEO Thurmond, I’m ashamed of you.

Captain Rutland should have been fired over the Gwinnett theft of services incident, but nothing was done. certain people can do whatever they want and get away with anything. Captain Golden has had numerous affairs with female officers and nothing has ever been done to him.

Chief Cardi B loves for her command staff to be bullies and snitches, as long as you kiss her ass she will protect you. she loves Lt. White and Lt. Albritton the two biggest cowards and snitches in the department. Albritton is her man he is a direct line to her, that is why he is next to be promoted to Captain.

this police Department is a disgrace, I do not tell people I work here. I cant wait to find a new job and leave here.

just the facts ....Dekalb is the worst in pay and the worst benefits package in the metro area. Yet we have the highest crime rate with the highest call volume in the state. Officers are leaving because of the chief and how the commissioners have treated them. no one wants to work in this enviorment.

They want you to be more and act more than human. Yet treat you like you are a idiot. They do not care about their employees or their families. Like to talk down to you and tell you, you are ungrateful. Remember no cost of living increase, no raises, crap pension and increase in medical benefits. They truly believe in their Law Enforcement in this County, they show how much they care (Can You See).

everyone is leaving this department, the command staff will tell you our sworn officers are the same over the last few years and they even post that we have 650 sworn officers. this number is a bald-faced lie, we are below 400 officers and that is very dangerous for the citizens and the officers of Dekalb county.

Dekalb county is the joke of the metro area police agencies, because of the low pay and poor benefits we offer we cant hire, well-qualified applicants. We cant keep officers here because of the way they are treated and abused.

Albritton is the biggest snitch and ass kisser in the department, he brags about getting officers written up and in trouble, he hides behind his badge and rank.

Why was Captain Rutland not charged by Gwinnett police when a theft of services report was filed by the dealership.?

Tut land wasn’t fired because she’s a black female. Just like Golden

You all like to keep hashing over the same things! You complain about Lt. Albritton , Lt. White and Captain Rutland in every post on this blog site. You constantly complain about Chief Ramos and Major Williams as well. You are aware that hardly anyone reads this trash right? All the mud slinging and axe grinding is getting old, but I guess this is the only way to vent huh? I have worked with and for Captain Rutland and Lt. White throughout the years and never had a problem. I did my job correctly and was respectful to people I came in contact with. I’ve heard officers and sergeants complain about both of them only after they got themselves in a jam that couldn’t go unnoticed. Maybe the lot of you anonymous folks are the ones who got called out for your stupid stuff and you want to write something to make you feel less stupid. Albritton on the other hand, I only worked with while he was an MPO and he is a great guy. I gotta take up for them, they were good to me. Chief Ramos is treated unfairly a lot, and has a job you all don’t have any understanding about, but yet you constantly armchair quarterback her every move. Y’all silly!

you obviously read the blog and you obviously are one of the ass-kissing snitches who is trying to gain rank or get yourself in a good position. I think you are probably one of these people and writing about how good they are. No one and I mean No-one in this department can stand any of the people mentioned, they are cancer to this agency and they are why people are leaving in droves..

Albritton stop typing good things about yourself everyone knows you have no friends here and no one likes you, the same goes for White, Rutland, and Chief Cardi B

i am a veteran supervisor and I have 3 years left, I agree this blog is not and should not be used to talk trash about other officers and supervisors. it makes us look bad, I do not care for some of the officers and supervisors mentioned either, but I am not going to air out my thoughts on here. this blog should focus on why we are losing so many people and how can we make our department a better place. the commissioners and the command staff need to take a close look at how they treat the police and how they show us they do not respect or care about us. everything from the pay to the benefits and how overworked we are. you cant change the character of a person unfortunately we have bad apples in every profession. these people know they are disliked and they know how they treat people and they do not care.
so let's just state the facts and figure out how to make the best of the garbage we deal with.

the actual number of sworn officers working for Dekalb Police is 409 state post certified officers, this is dangerously low. please stay safe out there men and women. this county does not care if you get hurt or die and the citizens do not care either. back each other and come home safe each day god speed.

OMG, I am LMAO, at Albritton typing something good about himself, how pathetic are you.

Anonymous at 5:57, if you worked with and for them and never recognized a problem then you have blinders on. I’ve sat in numerous roll calls where they berated officers. Do officers jam themselves up? Absolutely. On the flip side of that coin, I’ve seen them try to “jam” officers up when they acted within the law and policy. Most of those situations ended in no disciplinary action or were won through appeal by officers. Rutland has served suspension time at every rank she’s held. She threw an officers transfer request in a shredder, she was listed as a suspect in a theft of services case. White should have been fired back when he was on star team and let a drunk go because he was scared. His LT test results were mixed up with 2 other people with the same last name. The results were sent to his house by mistake and he opened the letters that weren’t his. The promotional test results are not public record, they are owned by the testing entity and there is no means of appealing the results. If you can “take up for them” because they were good to you, you need to do a personal inventory of your ethics.

If dekalb didn’t have double standards they would have no standards at all.

They do not want law enforcement in DeKalb County. Criminals are given more respect than the officers. According to most of the politicians in the county, there is no crime and we can blame a virus for any uptick in violence. We do not hold people accountable for their actions. The proposed police budget is a insult to anyone working in the Metro area. Plus they treat their Officers, Detectives and most Supervisors like a bunch of animals (no respect).

It's so interesting if you think about it. All one has to do is file a FOIA, Freedom of Information Act, request to Georgia POST asking for the number of POST certified officers that are currently employed with the DeKalb County Police Dept. Its public record Boys & Girls.....

409 is very close but that number is just a tad bit high. You all Have a Nice Day!!

Oh, almost forgot, Albritton...that boy Clint well he's just a damn fool, White is a cowards coward (still have a copy of that cowards STAR Team video with the drunk) maybe we need to share it, and Amar (Rutland) well, she's just pissed cause she has no idea on how to get and keep a man. She's just a bitter person with notches in the bed post.... needs to go back to working Mall Security at Northlake Mall.

Serenity Now!!

Hey Anonymous at 4:11, I think it’s hilarious that you and other alcoholics let Albritton, Rutland and White live in your void of brain cell minds rent free! It’s absolutely amazing and hilarious! LMAO. Since I’m currently employed I will hang my hat as anon as well. Drink up fools

1:45- apparently you forgot why this blog was created. It was to air the grievances and corruption because there was no other forum. it's also anonymous. sign your name if you want folks to behave better.
I left 6 years ago. I miss the people, I don't miss the corruption. Get the experience and get out.

Imagine in the very near future. How there will be so very few experienced and decent officers in DeKalb County. We are in dire straits and to be honest it appears to be irreparable. The community can thank their elected and hate filled politicians for ignoring the crime and violence. I hope the communities feel safe. Thank you for treating your employees like ungrateful and abused animals.
