Dekalb Fires 30+ year veteran officer from its Retro/Reserve unit for not having his body cam on during a confrontation with a transgender male who was using a Women’s bathroom. This happened  in a public library in Dekalb county. Instead of writing him up for not having his body cam on or educating him on procedures dealing with the trans community, they fired him.

Weaver is a good person and a good officer they used him as a political scape goat

I feel bad for weaver he did not deserve to be fired.

that retro unit has some great officers in it and it is being run by an idiot Sgt Cantrell, and Lt. Fritz has become a company man now.

95% of officers would have handled the situation the same way weaver did.

That is infuriating on a number of levels!!!!
Most of all, I am disappointed that Major Theodore Golden and Chief Greg Padrick concurred with a decision to fire/terminate him... I don't know Lonzy Robertson.
You know, Glen is 70 and retired so it is not like he has suffered a career ending termination. Nonetheless, what a shitty way to treat a veteran officer with (likely) a clean disciplinary record...

He might have been ok but he didn't have his bodycam, didn't submit a job request and didnt sign on over the radio. Any complaint with those three violations would have gotten a reserve officer terminated.
