DKPD ANON thanks all of you who voted ... and especially those of you who voted for Commissioner Ellis. According to results released at midnight on the 15th, he had received 46% of the vote,
and will be on the ballot for CEO in November. I believe the best man for the DKPD has won the race.

You spoke too soon....There's going to be a run off election

DKPD ANON, I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT BEING THE BEST MAN FOR THE CEO POSITION. HOWEVER, I WILL AGREE MAYBE NOW WE CAN GET OF THE ANTICHRIST T-BO.

WHAT CONCERNS ME THOUGH IS THAT YEAR LONG STUDY THAT ELLIS TALKED ABOUT. I AM TIRED OF STUDIES. WHAT WE NEED IS SOMEONE TO LISTEN TO US. REMEMBER THAT STUDIES COST THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Anonymous,

You hit the nail on the head!

Officers at my precinct are asking the same questions when it comes to Ellis -

Study the issue for another year? What has Ellis been doing while serving on the BOC?

How can he ask the citizens to elect him CEO if he has no ideas on how to improve the DKPD and the county?

Lets see, where do we begin, Mr. Ellis made a great showing from the citizens of DeKalb. The next question is what will he do to address the problems inside DeKalb Police Department. We need true leadership and not political appointments. We have a Chief who is bringing in outsiders with no qualifications other than they might know Chief Bolton brother ( retired APD police Lieutenant) or some of the current APD appointees. We need professional leadership not someone like Chief Bolton who claim to be an expert but is never in DeKalb or has the qualifications to lead a department like DeKalb.

The majority of the officers will work under any conditions to protect and serve, they love this police department . They are tired of the favoritism and political connections .

I hope Mr. Ellis reaches out to some of the retired DeKalb Police officials( he has one already supporting him ) and ask them to help lead him in the right direction for our new leadership.

Mr. Watson is also pro-police and has made his statements concerning issues inside the department. He has a following of officers who support him. Will he reward these officers with appointments or will he thank them for their support and get us the best leadership available to bring this police department back on top.

This is very scary to the officers, because whoever wins will be in place for the next four years. The future will rest with next CEO.

We have been under a dictatorship for the last eight years and this needs to end. Let the police department have a police chief who has the power to lead and not have to worry about the politics.

I do not know who all of these officers are who are supporting Stan Watson. A few of you (fly on the wall) have made mention of them in a negative manner, suggesting that some of them may be appointed to a position should Mr. Watson win. Maybe some of them will be for all I know, and maybe some of them deserve it and would be good leaders. I can not say for sure either way. But regardless, it has occurred to me that some people are taking shots at them from the comfort of their living room while those guys supporting Mr. Watson are in the trenches fighting. I understand that some of those officers have been transferred and mistreated by Bolton’s gang for supporting Watson. Maybe more officers should get out of their comfort zone, get off of their ass, stop taking cheap shots and join the fight. If you would rather not, then at least give a little credit to the guys who are fighting!

dkpd anon, every person is entitled to their own personal opinion however it is interesting that you support Ellis while the Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Watson. I interpret that as suggesting the 'majority' of the rank and file believe Mr. Watson is the best person suited to lead this county and address the issues concerning our PD.

Some might recall that the late Derwin Brown came in 2nd place with 25% of the vote for sheriff. We remember how that election turned out in the end.

This vote can determine our leadership for the next 8 years. I'd suggest all citizens consider the candidate the FOP endorsed and supports, Stan Watson for DeKalb CEO.
