Bolton’s Kingdom building has been slowed by a hurdle. Many thanks to the readers and contributors of our/your blog page; the Board of Commissioners have chosen to “table “ Bolton’s requests to waste even more tax payer money by creating an Assistant Chief position over-seeing Animal Control and Code Enforcement, and all the baggage it brings. Having a motion “tabled” is pretty much a death sentence for the motion.
It has been brought to our attention, Bolton is so incensed he is being held accountable by the people who read and contribute to this blog page; he has dismissed all Captains and Lieutenants from attending Compstat. The reason being, he believes there is a “Judas” within his ranks. Don’t know if we would go so far to call that person “Judas”, but more like a protector of the citizens…....
Even more news from the pumps: Captain Dan Jagoe has been reassigned from Animal Control to the Communications Section. A couple of reasons for this latest move; the department currently has 8 too many Captains that are not justified. Bolton is starting to put some of these Captains in created positions, such as communications, property, animal control, etc. Who’s to know who will take Jagoe’s slot? Maybe a soon to be demoted Major?

Here we go again, putting ANOTHER unqualified person in Communications. When is THIS going to STOP.....We need to get ALL of the sworn people out of Communications and back on the street and give it to the PROFESSIONAL communications people who know how to run it. It seems Communications has now become the dumping ground that Animal Control was/is. This is getting old....
Dan Jagoe is a good captain but what the hell doeas he know about the communications division? Put people where theie expertise is..Jagoe is uniformed command and CID. I always thught the Animal control unit was for..... let's say, the ability challanged. Property is for injusred or pregnant..come on, let's use the best people where they are of the best use.
The commission took up the agenda of vehicles, what department has 50 take home vehicles assigned to a Interactive Community Policing specialized unit. That's one reason we do not have any new police cars this year. Chief Bolton has exhausted our vehicle fleet for the year. I understand we have plenty of black Crown Vic's for the Command Staff to have new vehicles. We cannot even get a police unit to drive when we go on duty after roll call. We still have to stand around in the parking lot waiting on a police unit. The smartest thing to do is to put those 50 officers back in the uniform division to answer calls. This way I won't have to explain to a citizen what took me so long to answer their call for police services.
Well according to this logic I have even a better idea. Why don't we scrap the 4/3 and go back to a 5/2. The 5/2 will put more officers back on the street because instead of up to 50% off on any given day you'll only have up to 33% off. We can also go back to the early out program of 3-4 cars per shift which will help with the waiting for cars at changeover. Doesn't really sound fun does it? Most would rather wait for a car under this current system than go back to the great off days of T/W and rolling back every 2 months.
