The advisory board for Chief, well one was fired from DeKalb and has been nothing but a headache working extra jobs in Dunwoody. The other one from DeKalb , left Milton Police when he realized he have to do real police work and do it with a straight neck.
Do some research Dunwoody.

It was an interesting read but it didn't address the main concern for veteran officers....

What is the Pension?

Veteran officers with Dekalb are under the old plan...2.75% per year of service. Most are still here because of the pension.

What will we have if we jump to Dunwoody.

Retirement - 401k/457 type account (zero balance to start).

Benefits to start - zero balance on Vacation/Sick and Holiday.

Good chance for a take home car

Salary will be low to mid 40's for patrol officers

About the same as Sandy Springs

I thought I read somewhere about the city matching or exceding 401k contributions. I would assume they are goin to have a 401k type plan. Usually only your larger cities have a dedicated pension fund.

What I found really interesting was the the county is losing that part of I285. First I had heard of that.
