UPDATE: Vernon Cuts Off Ellis From Talking to Chief Bolton About His Wasteful Spending

Thanks to your blog page, the message is getting out. At least C.E.O. elect Ellis and his transition team is looking into Bolton's Kingdom.

Vernon can block them all he wants, and he can cancel the transitions teams contract. But come January, the draw bridge will be lowered and the moat drained leaving Bolton exposed and his cronies left in the light.

We truly believe Ellis, given the proper time and evidence, will do what must be done to save the police department and insure the safety of the citizens of DeKalb and call upon Bolton to resign.

My fellow officers, the eight years of this ego, self centered CEO will be coming to an end in January 2009. Lets be patient... Also, Bolton will be out of a job. CHANGE IS COMING AND I CAN'T WAIT.

A jackass right up to the last miserable day.

I wish Ellis and the other commissioners, or perhaps even the GBI, FBI, or U.S. Attorneys would look into Bolton threatening CBS46 if they aired footage they recorded of Keisha Williams drinking and driving in a county vehicle! How many officers have been fired under Bolton for drinking and driving their personal vehicles off duty? I wonder why she's above the rules?

There had better be a defibrilator nearby when Ellis sees how much money Bolton is wasting by punishing veteran officers, Sgt's, Lt's, and Captains by sending them to undesirable positions that could be performed cheaper and better by civilians!

When all this is said and done, CEO Ellis must look to the Captains in the police department to hold the department together until he finds a police chief. These men and women and can carry us until this happens. They are some of the best. We can accomplish any goal with these leaders. Bring back Chief Burgess until you find a permanent Chief.
I bet I know who will be his aide.

Resign?!? Ellis should give him a good, swift kick in the buttocks and have two rookies not even off FTO escort him out or simply drop him off at the airport!

If not the airport, then a small office down at Animal Control with his name on the door.

Vernon Jones has a problem with $150,000 being spent on Burrell Ellis' transition team? Vernon didn't have a problem with his security team spending thousands of dollars on suits, or Bolton spending over half a million dollars on useless luxury RV's!

$155 thousand is $155 thousand no matter which CEO is funding the wasteful spending. I hope it will not be the norm for the CEO Elect. He doesn't seem to be off to a good start.

Anonymous stated, "$155 thousand is $155 thousand no matter which.....".

And so it begins....the attack on the side that is responsible for fixing the mess, assigning blame and holding Vernon and "the powers that be" accountable for their actions, decisions, and non-decisions.

I thought ICP and the command staff were out crushing crime....

Not on the computer manipulating the smoke and mirrors in a manner designed to cover for Vernon and cronies like Bolton.

If it weren't such a mess and Vernon's Administration was transparent, we wouldn't have a need for professionals on the staff.

No wonder Bolton put so much power in the hands of the PIO.

I don't think that 155K is an unreasonable amount for a transition team. If Ellis requires that much in order to identify the excesses and problems within Jones' administration and/or find cause to remove our Chief, then it's worth it. We can sell one magic bus and pay for it.

are we sure keisha williams wasn't hired off 14th street????

Changling,

Trust me there is no power given to the officer in PIO. Unless you call being told which pictures to put in or leave out of a photo album as having power.

The county hopefully will be better off with a new CEO.
