So far, no one is talking furloughs here in DeKalb County. But we do know how being short on manpower effects morale. Mainly because of Bolton and all his ineffective special units, promotions and transfers, we have been short on manpower for the last two (2) years in particular.
At least Atlanta will pull people from specialty units to man the streets. Not here in DeKalb. Bolton allows beats to go uncovered on a daily basis. And we are already under a restrictive leave time policy.

Being short officers in Uniform and CID effects morale not just in the area of manpower on the street.
It also means vacations and time off denied because someone else has already requested that day.
It means the temporary, 3 month restrictions instituted back in October or November of last year are still in place. No end in sight!
It means having to put in for time off 3 to 4 months in advance.
It means if you are not driving a black crown vic or large black SUV with tinted windows you can't readily use YOUR comp. time or vacation time.
