There will be a candlelight vigil to honor slain Officers Barker and Bryant, January 15, 2009, 6:00 PM at the Barker/Bryant Park.
Our hearts are still heavy from their loss. But our hearts are just as heavy with the loss of all 28 DeKalb County officers killed in the line of duty.
Why can't they all be honored?
Just wondering. We miss you Step!

I received this today from Ellen. She was very helpful last year with making arrangements for the Bryant family.
On Wednesday, January 16, 2008, Dekalb County PD Officer’s Ricky Bryant and Eric Barker were shot and killed as they were working an off duty detail in Police Uniform. Their Department has ruled their deaths Line of Duty. Ricky was flown to Rochester and buried here.
On Saturday, January 10, 2009 6PM – 1 AM, there will be a benefit for Officer Bryant’s four children at the Diplomat House 1956 Lyell Av in Gates, NY. The fundraiser is being held by Ricky’s Mother Vicky. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door. Any questions, please contact Vicki Griffin (Ricky’s Mother) at 284-5250 or Brandy Bryant (Ricky’s sister) at 285-2223.
Please come and give support to Ricky’s family.

Rock on Step we truly miss you and all the officers lost.
Step might be fully recognized now that Vernon is gone.
Honored by this Administration??? I just read in the AJC that Officers Barker and Bryant were removed from the end of year Homicide total released to the Press. They released a total for 2008 of 110 murders instead of 112. This allowed the Brass to claim the county had one fewer murder than the 2007 total of 111. Barker and Bryant are so important to our Chief that we won't even bother to include them as victims of Homicide; so important that our Chief can't be bothered to stay in town while we hunted for their killer.
Do you have the link to the AJC article? We can't seem to find it.
Margarita pushes a lot of these events for those two officers. Why won't she do it for Step. All of them were equal. She is the reason.
Why not coordinate a memorial here. Clearly you all are getting the readership.
When you sit around waiting for others to take the lead, you get left behind.
Note: From DeKalb Officers: We would love too, but we fear it would jeopardize our anonymity. But we would support one trough our blog.
Chief Bolton and his pet bitch care for Officers Barker and Bryant about as much as they would care to have gonorrhea. The hypocrisy and phony concern makes me want to vomit. Bolton obviously cared so much that he left town the week they were killed. We all know Keisha's attitude towards those who wear a badge; I havent heard of her being decent to anyone but her siamese twin that works with her on the 4th floor.
Yeah, as much as I would like to go to anything to remember fallen Officers, any and all of them, I wont go to anything put on by our current leadership. They are fakes and hypocrites and are an insult to all Officers both living and dead with these stupid "look good" self-serving events they have. Piss on them.
