Bolton Calls For GBI Investigation of Burrell Ellis

Brings to vision of fingernails scraping the side of a ship trying to hold on as it sinks.

Haaaaaa...Investigate what? They won't even consider it.

In what case does the investigatee get to name the investigator?

Both Vernon and Bolton want to involve the GBI? Something smells fishy!!

GBI Investigation? What credibility do they have when it comes to DeKalb?

Remember when twenty plus vehicle and license backgrounds were checked on department computers, and Vernon brought the GBI in to do an investigation? Every single person had just one thing in common: He/she pissed off Vernon at one point. The waas an AJC reporter, Hank Johnson, Elaine Boyer and other completely random people who had somehow offended Mr. CEO.

Well, the GBI "investigated", but did not contact any sungle person who had their tags checked??!!

The one thing they admitted to was that Don Frank was illegally checking on his ex-wife and her boyfriend, but Don got away with no punishment.

Everyone knows Don Frank, Vernon's former driver, ran those tags for Vernon. But the GBI did nothing. I'm, guessing Vernon had a GBI buddy, and that's why TeBo wants them to investigate.

If you probe me, I'll probe you right back. I probed you first - no you didn't - I probed YOU first. Who got probed? Let's all get probed! Probes for everyone - probes all around!

Slamin Ethel says Bolton you are an idot, tuck your tail between your legs and go home like the dog you are.
Dont you get it, even if you were to stay here no one wants you. You are like a planters wart, you get under the skin and never leave.
Not one officer around this place likes you, wants you, and sure as hell would never go into battle for you.
There is now someone who is well respected and sitting on the 4th floor his name is Major. O'Brien you should take notes from him on how to treat people.
The only thing left to do and get this department back on track is to remove the title "Acting" from Major. OBrien to just plain ol Chief Obrien.

Amen to Slamin Ethel's post.

Remove the "Acting" from Acting Chief O'Brien's title.

Wanna see a the flood or resume out of Dekalb dry up fast....that would do it.

I have yet to find an officer who does not have the utmost respect for the new Acting Chief or who would not hesitate to go through a door with him.

That ladies and gentlemen is a man that I'd trust my life to without a second thought. Show me the door and I'd go through it with him without a second thought.

Its sort of noteworthy to see an IA commander who has not been badmouthed on this blog. He has been with the county for 24 years which says a lot about his loyalty for the county, especially the last eight years, a trying time for all DeKalb employees. Let us hope that Mr. Ellis will fore go an expensive "national search" and opt to make Major O'Brien Chief permanently. 'Me hats off to Mr. Ellis with his aggressive handling of this issue!

The only "Acting" chief around DeKalb was Bolton. And he did one hell of a poor job "Acting" like one. I left DKPD just in time to miss the "Romper room" and "Me, Myself & I" style of leadership demonstrated by the last two chiefs and their cronies. Bill O'Brien has the ability and potential to bring honor and high morale back to a deserving police department and it's officers. Most who are true to the job just want to be part of something worthwhile and that they can be proud of. Time to focus in on the true abilities or "lack thereof" on all those commanders Bolton promoted. Let's see how many of those guys have been "Acting" and who actually has the experience, knowledge, respect of others and leadership to hold those important positions. It’s about the privilege to lead others and self sacrifice, a principle that has escaped many who are currently in charge. Good luck DeKalb on your rebirth and God's speed.

The only people that would badmouth Bill O'Brien are those that were guilty when they got hammered by the Rat Squad, and I don't believe that even they would. He would not make you wrong if you weren't wrong, nor would he just because the Chief wanted it that way and you were on someone's s---list. Unlike the current commander, Lapdog Kissypants Yarbro, Bill O'Brien restored the badly needed integrity to that unit. We are sittin' in high cotton now.

Somehow this article seems even more ridiculous when the headline is in 36 point bold type in the newspaper.

Seriously, though. You don't really think SO and To Bro are going to be thorough or fair...aren't they just the CEO's lapdogs? Seems to me like it's more of the same.

If Bolton's brothers are the chief deputy sheriff in Forrest County, Miss., and Frazier Bolton, police chief of Hattiesburg, what were they doing in DeKalb on a weekday workday to begin with?

Probably taking comp time like they're brother taught them.

Ellis needs to find real evidence of Bolton's incompetence and produce it, something that will hold up in court. There is no doubt that Bolton is nearly as sleazy Dorsey, Cuffie, and the whole crew that Dorsey brought in at the DeKalb SO. (I still want to write a book about that.), less sleazy than Dorsey because no criminal thugs were hired by Bolton, only incompetent, which is not criminal. What does make Bolton a sleaze is his obviously pre-meditated plan following the M.O. he pulled on Dallas. Bolton is showing that he has zero concern over what is best for DeKalb County citizen, this drama is all about money and abused privilege. Bolton means to make a pile of money and dragging the county through the mud is Bolton's weapon of choice. I mean who needs 8 cars for work? And how many drivers? And whats this about 80 uniforms? The gold braid alone would probably weigh a ton.

Morale just went up 110 percent with the new appointed acting police chief.

Bring Dick Hand Back he would fix this damn mess, in short order.

Is this guy a perp, or what?! "If you have any questions, talk to my lawyer!" Really? Your lawyer? Why can't you answer us, the tax payers you are accountable to and who pay your salary? Lawyering up sure makes you sound guilty of something to me! Oh, and speaking of sounding guilty, now you want the CEO investigated by the GBI?? Yet another perp tactic!!! If I had a nickel for every time I was threatened with, "I'm going to IA and I'm going to sue you for false arrest! I'm going to have your badge" I wouldn't have to work anymore!

Keep it up, Bolton! You're just making yourself look more and more guilty! Speaking of "guilty." If, or should I say when, Chief Bolton is accused of any criminal activity, what about everyone in the command staff who had knowledge of his shenanigans?? Shouldn't they be held accountable too?? Aren't they supposed to uphold the law??

It would be fabulous to see all his toady yes men in front of a grand jury answering both for their own misdeeds as well as supporting Tebo's misdeeds. Better yet make it a federal grand jury where they can really put the pressure on. What a wonderful sight it would be to see these people in a perp walk, Damn i can't wipe the smile off my face just imagining this event.

I'll tell you what should be investigated. It's why the Dekalb County Police Dept has an uncany knack of HISTORICALLY, not just recently, but historically having the knack of producing an unbelieveable number of "disgruntled" emplowes. They always blame the disgruntled employees for being that way but do they ever try to find out why they get that way? Give that a try for once. Nobody wants to be disgruntled but DKPD is able to generate more than any other dept. Ask around.

Well, by what I have read, Your Bolton, was exactly like My Bolton. And, since My Bolton is Your Bolton's brother, (F) it sounds like we had the same chief. I live in this county, but police somewhere else. But, with the exit of (F) things haven't changed much. The term same shit, different day applies. (F) is alot like (T). Brought in people who resembled him, corrupt, and or corruptable. Divided, to conquer. Transfered "good cops" to undesireable assignments. Hired people that wouldn't have been hired elsewhere. Had these corruptable cops spy and dig dirt up on the "good cops". And, use the carrot and stick method of making sure corruption, and dishonesty flourish. The carrot and stick being using a carrot to reward officers that behave badly, and the stick method to punish officers who refuse to cut corners, take short cuts and refuse to compromise their integrity. You know, police corruption flourishes NOT by lack standards, failure of a successful psych exam , or not a thorough enough background check. But, it flourishes by hiring over and over, the same police chiefs, where corrupt officials keep hiring them over and over, despite indicators where a fifth greater could discover why these poster children for sess pools of corruption should never have even had a second interview. I am as pissed as y'all, mainly because things haven't changed where I am. At least y'all have someone that wedged himself between you, and everything we defend against. The problem is that these things would be stopped in their tracks if the people in command positions that are not tainted, would treat corrupt chiefs like the people they fight against. But, people in the know weigh keeping their oath, and losing their jobs, because in this state, the lowly officer, or command officer has no where to go to report this.
I am glad y'all don't have to deal with this anymore.
