"I suspect that the creator or creators of this blog will have this termination letter framed and on a wall somewhere. I really can’t blame you and I may do the same thing myself. There has been much speculation about who is behind this web site and after all the speculation I still do not have a damn clue. A very well kept secret indeed!
I have not agreed with everything that the creators of this site have said but overall I believe you have tried to be fair. I know that you have allowed many posts that you personally did not agree with. I think that you have provided a valuable service to our police department and for that I commend you and thank you. Perhaps some day I can thank you in person.
With the exit of Terrell Bolton and hopefully the exit of his command staff cronies in the near future there may be the temptation to think that this web site is no longer needed. I would disagree with those thoughts and hope that this site is up for a long time to come. It helps keep supervisors honest and it gives people a place to agree and disagree. Can only be a good thing".

A note from DeKalb Officers: Thank you for your positive comment. Indeed we have tried to be as fair as possible, and yes, we have posted comments we do not agree with.
It is our intention to keep this blog page up and running for as long as possible.

I have to admit that I have speculated and even accused the creators of this blog of not being "one if us" (police, that is), but I have to admit that they have always posted my comments and flames. They have always been fair, even though some of what has been posted has been incorrect. Keep up the good work and know that you this blog is a public service that has done more for the police department and citizens of DeKalb than VJ, Bolton, Keisha, Horner, Waddleton or Curtis Williams has ever done.
I may not always agree with what is said but I will defend until my dying breath your right to say it.
But that is Just Me.
I wonder if Waddleton & Horner are preparing for the new flavor of Kool-Aid...I'm not in any way suggesting that Chief O'Brien will brew his own, he's to good of a man and is highly respected. I'm just sure they'll do whatever it takes to try and land on their feet..like a sneaking cat. They both are an embarrassment ....oh and in response to the blogger who defends them ....yes I do know them...for over 20yrs and very disappointed so I can make the comment. When the dust settles around this place I only hope that we're left with Chief O'Brien. He is the best thing that has happened to this department in my 20+ yrs....and I'm sure he can see through those 2 clowns.
Wow. As a citizen, I am greatly concerned. From the comments on this board it doesn't sound like you all think (other than AC O'Brien) there are ANY qualified leaders on our force.
Could some of their actions and reactions be due to their leadership? What's the alternative to "bucking" the system? Lose your job? Get demoted? Don't most people just play along until the powers that be make a change?
To the citizen poster, please realize that this site is being used for personal attacks on people. It is obvious they are coming from the same people who have a personal ax to grind. We do have some good people in the command staff and the people who need to know are aware of them. It would be more credible if people would stick to the facts. However we all need to realize this blog is a place where people can hide as anonymous and bitch and moan about people they dont like.
One must realize that the name callers here are the true losers in ths organization. The 20 year clown has been passed over for a promotion or disciplined by the command staff or is one of the command staff that should have never been promoted and is trying to keep other names out there so maybe he or she want be called out. It is all a game and when that dust settles the real commanders will still be there and the ones who should not have been promoted will be demoted.
This blog serves multiple purposes: information, venting, celebrating, humor, and I think it has been a great asset not only to DKPD, but to the citizens of DeKalb who want to understand what is happening with the police department day-to-day. This blog gives greaat insider information during a critical time.
It is very easy to filter out the venting from the information.
Agree with "Citizens like me need info said"
Just because Tebo is gone/leaving doesn't mean I don't care about how DKPD is doing. Even if Dekalb County becomes as crime free as Mayberry I still like reading a point of view from the insides to make sure what I read from PR and the press is accurate.
Please keep up the good work.
To the person who started off Wow. As a citizen: I will answer that question, even though I am not a Dekalb officer, I am a Dekalb resident and police officer who worked under Tebo' s bro, Frabo. When Frabo was hired, there were your usual dramas, a couple of prejudiced supers. and rank and file between black and white officers, but absolutely NOTHING like it is now. Frabo came in and paid the rank and file officers almost 17.00 an hour, they were married and HAD to work the same shift and have the same days off, while the rest of us were making in the thirteen range, entry level. Now, at that time I had years of exp., with a superior agency. Now two officers who didn't know much about processing an arrest are making more than Lieutenants. Did I mention they were black and the first thing Frabo said when he came to our dept., was that, this dept. is too white. I am not prejuduced, nor did anyone at our dept. behave that way, but when you pay someone that much money, because they were your friends, just because they are black, and have no other compelling skill to justify that, you are not only sending a conflicting message about compensation for merit, but you also risk your agency getting sued for paying unequally, against labor laws. He fired his secretary, who was black, for dating a white LT.,after writing her up 3 times during one day. But, all you had to do was google him, and you would find out most of what you needed to know, NOT to hire him. He was also from APD, where it would have been found he was demoted for sexual harassment. The fact that he was former APD, should be no surprise, since Frabo, probably gave a reccommendation for the current command staff you have their from APD, you know the friendlies, versus the "enemy". I know a few APD that are okay, but the majority of command staff are like the MRSA
bacteria, they are immune from anything and spread like flesh eating
virus.
To answer your questiou you do risk losing your job. If you perform as trained, you will have to eventually refuse to follow orders when a super, or command staff tells you to arrest when there is no probable cause, hide cars and you know they aren't his, refuse to take something out on a report, or put something in when it is not true. Literally, sometimes everyday, you have to decide and weigh losing your job,and violating your oath of office. The clearest example I can give is watcing "Clear and Present Danger" and you'll understand the struggle we face every day, to remain untainted and still do our job. The way corruption exists is that command staff and chief set up a carrot and stick system. The cops that sometimes go against supervisors because they refuse to follow an illegal direct order, are nit picked and punished"stick".?The officers that kiss up, break the laws to make arrests and maintain "control" over weaker officers, they get plum assignments, promoted up the chain, "carrot". It sets up a silent dialogue, where the officer gets the message of outwardly abhorring bad cops, while internally encouraging them, that allow them to flourish. And, IA is uses for the specific purpose of answering to the chief, to ferret out "enemies". Ohhhhhhh the Feds need to get involved, but not to investigate Ellis, to investigate both departments, and the Bolton's, so that our dept's can serve our public.
