Nice to see that promoting off the list has started. I was surprised to see Rancifer's signature at the bottom.

Congratulations to all who got promoted.

Too those who were fired, brought back, and tested well....good luck going forward. You have now been called to lead. Learn from your mistakes and use this as an opportunity to show that you can rise to the occasion. There are a lot of rookies who will know nothing about your past.

How and the world did Pierre ever get promoted, he was fired from this place for numerious criminal acts.
I hear that North Sgt who was on the study board gave him some insight as to which questions he should study for.

Quit hating. Just study and maybe you'll get promoted the next time.

Why are your surprised to see to see Rancifer's name on that order? O'Brien as A/C signed the original promotion order, Asst. Chief of Field Ops, which is over uniform, signs the assignment order. Nothing new there...been that way for quite awhile.

Sure would have been nice to see something making O'Brien permanent Chief.

Lets try to be supportive with one another. Whatever happened in the past is the past. Lets move foward and wish everyone well.

My only advise to the newly promoted supervisors is treat your people well and stand by them. If they fall pick them up and keep moving foward.

Anybody see the order putting some 2700 badge # in Aerial Support? Do we really need someone else up there? Surely that officer should still be on the street, uniform is short enough..I also see that King Rancid was able to get another one of his doo-boys over in Spec. Ops...Yarbrough..geez will someone control King Rancid? He is still running this dept. as he was when Bolton was here...O'Brien, I am losing faith in you..you gotta control this guy..

News Flash,
If you know how to fly a chopper, Your badge number does not matter. Believe it or not, some people come to the department with other qualifications than just a required GED. But with your line of thought, lets have a skilled pilot humping 911 calls for 10 years and then let him fly......

Yes we do need more pilots. If you are a qualified pilot, then you are a qualified pilot, no matter the badge number.

No, I'm no Rancifer fan, I'm a realist. How many times have supervisors called for the helicopter and are told it is not available?

What about the other qualified pilots that have lower badge numbers that haved tried for years to get into the unit. They served their time on the street humping 911 calls, some have even left, only because Rancid would not give them a chance....Its called POLITICS..not who or what you know..its whose ass you stick your nose up.......

It doesn't matter what your badge number is, the fact of the matter is that the officer that got promoted is WELL qualified for the job he has his hours and is a good officer. And as far as having a high badge number there are some rookies I would take over some vetrans. Get rid of the baggage and be happy your being employed in this economy.

Folks, I have nothing against someone who has a pilot's license. But I have been working here awhile, and I can tell you with certainty that they do not NEED another pilot up there. Rancid never lets them fly anyway, he does it all. Yes, any rookie SHOULD do his time and hump calls, maybe after he has been here a few yrs then go to 90 and goof off. There are numerous vets that got their license and STILL were blackballed from 90, cuz Rancid didn't like em. So please, stop drinking the Kool Aid that Rancid is spoon-feeding you. Oh wait, I bet it was newly transferred Yarbrough who posted those pro-pilot blogs!!!

Wow. I thought once TeBo and VJay were gone you'd all pull together and move forward. But with all the infighting, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Discouraging.

Change...nothing has changed as of late.

Bolton's being out is the only thing that is different.

The Chosen are still in positions of authority and continue to bestow their blessings and funds on the "made" officers and specialized units.

There's a new expensive toy parked in the front lot for all to see when they leave 34 in patrol cars with high mileage, sub-standard laptops and software that is not even sub-standard.

No, not much has changed.

This blog has done a wonderful job of bringing to the public's attention the corruption of high ranking members of the police department. Instead of focusing on who should or shouldn't be promoted, or why this person shouldn't be sent to a particular unit, why not continue to focus on things that really matter? Great progress has been made through the firing of Bolton. I think this blog's next focus should the revolving door at the DeKalb County Jail. How many times are DeKalb Police arresting the same people over and over again because of cases not prosecuted by the DA's office? Or how many times have repeat offenders been given a slap on the wrist by lenient DeKalb County Judges?? Let's start naming names: Judges who are too lenient and let repeat offenders continue to victimize the good, decent people of DeKalb County, DA's who don't prosecute cases because they're too scared or incompetent to go to trial.

Through the firing of Bolton, we've shown we can make a difference. Now, let's go after the people who are hindering out efforts to make DeKalb County safe!
