Rancifer Throws a Fit, Is Spanked By O’Brien

May 15, 2009 is Police Memorial Day. Every year, our department is represented at the national service in Washington, D.C. by our Honor Guard.

This year, Assistant Chief Rancifer wanted to send along with the Honor Guard, the Motorcycle Unit. Not understanding that the county, just as the rest of the nation, is being severely affected by the current economic crisis. Rancifer’s idea was properly shot down because the lack of funds.

Rancifer’s response? If my guys in motors can’t go, then nobody goes, including the Honor Guard. Bill O’Brien, with his plate full enough with the wake of TeBo’s corruption, had to step in. Yes the Honor Guard is going, no the motors are not.

On a side note: On the heals of “Car-Gate”, Rancifer wanted to reassign 15 black Ford Crown Vic’s that are in reserve to S.W.A.T. and replace those with cars currently being used by S.W.A.T.

Seems when Tip Green with to retrieve the Crown Vic’s from the locked gated area, he found the locks had been changed. It appears C.E.O. Ellis has ordered all the cars in reserve locked down. Good for him.

Bolton had his motto of "New Start, New Beginning". We have come up with our own: "And the beat goes on."

"And the beat goes on.".... with the same deadbeats beating the drum! Nothing has changed.

I knew there was a reason that I looked up to Chief O'Brien.

Good job Chief O'brien, although I will miss seeing all the pictures of drunken Special Op's Officers hitting every bar in Washington.

I feel a big showing in DC is needed. This year Bryant and Barker will be honored. Dekalb should send as many as possible to show support to the family who will be there. The honor guard will get busy with the competition they compete in (and do quite well I might add). Hopefull they have chaparones (excuse the spelling if wrong) with the family. There are numerous events going on and they need to have someone there with them every minute.

Well if we need a big showing up in DC, then why should the Motor unit go. Why not some Officers and Detectives from all units in DKPD.
