The recent big changes in the department were a clue that this was coming down the pipeline.
He'll sue like he did last time. He's too stupid to understand that the last time he was fired, he didn't break any laws (we know of) and he lost. This time, it is well known and documented that he did breaks laws pertaining to use of seized vehicles. So what kind of chance does he have in court?? ZERO!!
Is it safe to come back now? Finally good news for the guys and gals of DeKalb, better news for your WAY better no longer just acting Chief.
I heard Keisha appealed her firing too?
Also, ran into Harry Samler recently and he said the video they showed wasn't even the best they got of her tantrum.
Ding Dong the witch is Dead, the witch is dead!
every one sing along!
ding dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead!
Damn I thought sure you was coming back, I still love ya Te-Bo.
Signed your BFF....

BOLTON, I HOPE YOU READ THIS:
YOU SHOULD BE NEVER ALLOWED TO WORK IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAIN. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY ABILITY TO LEAD A MAJOR POLICE DEPARTMENT. YOU, KEISHA, AND VERNON SHOULD ALL GET A GRIP AND EXCEPT THAT YOU GUYS DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO ANYTHING RIGHT. YOU ARE ALL PERPS.
To the anonymous, Toledo poster:
I don't know who you are, Sgt., but I agree with you 100%!!
Does anybody know if in fact O'Brien has been officially named the Chief or is he still Acting.
DKPD - Citizens share in your joy over this news!! Let's all move forward together.
To Anonymous poster #4-
You can put your chapstick and knee pads away now....Tebo can't help you anymore so quit kissing his A-- already!!
Chief O'Brien is now OFFICIALLY our police chief. "Dead weight" is history --- except, of course, for the no-surprise-here law suit. When I look at TeBo "the bigger they are, the harder they fall" comes to mind.
Unfortunately Bill is still A/C Chief. He has not been appointed yet, keep your fingers crossed it happens. IMHO he is the best man for the job!
FREEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOM!
How is the mood at DKPD after the news? Looks like everyone on the blog is happy but what is the overall mood @ the precincts and HQ?
So, has O'Brian been appointed permanent chief? I have seen on these blogs that the county commission appointed him permanent chief. I have also read on this blog that he is still the acting chief. There is conflicting information here. Does anyone know for certain if he has been made the permanent chief or not? I think for the most part the reorganization is a good thing for the department. O'Brian has done the job now for many months. Ellis knows whatever he needs to know about O'Brian in order to hire him or not by now. The posts on this blog unanimously praise O'Brian as the man for the job. If he has been made the permanent chief, that seems like a good call. If O’Brian has not yet been made permanent I am concerned. The past "acting chief" before Bolton (Nick Marinelli) had also been with the department for many years and was respected and qualified but was passed over for the same reasons certain parks department employees were passed over. If O’Brian is retained at this stage as "acting" chief it makes me wonder if DeKalb County is still sticking with the illegal goal of maintaining a "darker" administration. If this is the case more litigation will ensue. The taxpayers of DeKalb need to get out our wallets to pay for futher judgments. There is overwhelming evidence in the parks case and I am sure that the county will lose that case. Additionally, if O’Brian is not made permanent the department will lose him like they did Marinelli.
Overall mood is for the most part unchanged....
I had a long detailed explanation, but deleted it. It started to sound like a baby who didn't get a lollipop.
On the bright side, they're not laying off like the private sector. Officers are taking home less, but they still have a job.
In reference to Marinelli's many years . How many? I have not been retired that many and do not have a clue who He is or was. Was he a five year wonder or another wonderful hire fron APD? Obrien seems like a good choice I knew him as an officer and he was a good one.
Marinelli. Now there's a curious situation that made no sense.
Vernon had a "yes man" that would do whatever Vernon asked. The department would have continued on unchanged and Vernon would have had ammunition to fight claims of racism.
Marinelli was qualified, capable and would have been a drama free chief.
For someone who was able to win the election for CEO not once but twice, Vernon wasn't the smartest guy on the block.
