I guess the blow to her huge inflated ego just can't stand the strain. You couldn't put her ego in a blimp hangar.

Couldn't have happen to a more deserving person(s) Good riddance to both, they exactly what they deserve.

Good for both of them, get the hell out and enjoy some life.

Klls me that Don Frank is still on the force. Without Vernon Jones, he would have been lucky to get a job as a bus driver.

woo hoo good riddance!! Helms is a nice guy, but that is about it, not effective at all. And I can't even begin on Waddleton. Just the fact that they are retiring RIGHT after being demoted shows that neither of them want him to help the DKPD rise back up to its glory. If it were me, I would stay and continue to make DKPD a better place. Their selfishness is not needed here.

Center Precinct is stuck with someone's left over.

Duh.....did it ever occur to anyone that it's quite possible that the newly demoted personnel are retiring so their pension payouts are not impacted by the drop in salary?

In any event, whatever you think of these people, they are lucky enough to be able to escape this dump.

GOOD.... HAVE A NICE LIFE YOU TWO CAN GO HOME NOW!!!

I think your pension goes by your highest two years of pay over the last 10 years. Saying they are retiring now to save their high pensions because they went down a few ranks isn't true.

Your pension is figured on your highest earning consecutive 36 months (3 years) out of your last ten (10) years. So that's EXACTLY what some (maybe not all) are doing when they immediately announce their retirement; chances are the inflated salaries some got these last few years by leap-frogging the "middle of the pack" ground got them over the top and they don't want screw that up. That, plus they don't want to receive the "come around" after they gave everyone else the "go around". Karma's a b*tch, ain't it.

So they could stay for at least a few years to help fix the mess they helped create and still keep their inflated pensions.

I read this site often but when I see most of you complaining that the Atlanta people were brought over and given high ranking positions without going up through the ranks but when Waddleton does exactly that goes through the rank structure you all talk sh**. Let me say she stood up for the little people and I am willing to bet most of you don’t even know her but have a 3000 badge number and are talking out you’re a** just because it is the new thing to do. Those who claim Waddleton did wrong by them are sure not giving any good examples besides the generic “Oh she was a kiss a**”. Well if being respectful to your supervisor is being a Kiss A** then every one of you are Kiss A** because if you weren’t respectful then you wouldn’t have a job. Oh and the line “She must not care if she couldn’t stick around and make Dekalb a better place” isn’t fair. Anyone of you would do the same given her position and time with the department. So in closing instead of crying about supervisor’s lets worry about getting yourself squared away. I am sick and tired of this place claiming to be a paramilitary department with strict uniform and grooming policies but a lot of officers are running around looking and acting like thugs with no opposition from there supervisors. Waddleton I wish you a healthy and happy life in retirement you deserve it.

Would someone please start a blog so we can blog about this blog and get the truth out there. Is it just me but everytime I post something that is a fact instead of bullshit fiction it want get posted. Also it seems that there are some people you just cant post about. I have found it to be mostly north precinct people or their spouses who may be employed here.

Kudos to the poster about Waddleton working her way through the ranks. She did, and had assignments that contrary to what you might think are cushy, they were hard as hell! Junio Police Academy at South, Inspections, and Accreditation are TOUGH! You get no backing but are expected to magically make things right. You have no clue. Godspeed, Maleta. Enjoy your grandbabies and retirement! You earned it.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Rancifer, Helms and Waddleton on their hard earned and well deserved retirements. The incorrect information posted by some of you in reference to how the pension payments are calculated is on par for the level of intelligence shown in most of the post on this blog.

If this blog is about being positive and caring about each other then why not one heading or mention of condolences or prayers for Sgt. E. Adkinson and his family in their loss of a loved one and I will venture to guess that there won't be any for the family of Sgt. D. A.Thomas.

From DeKalb Officers: Please forgive us for not posting these tragedies earlier. We do have other responsibilities and try to keep your blog updated as timely as possible.

Glad to see a few positive post on this blog. The bullshit and outright lies from disgruntled haters who can't get promoted gets a little old. As the saying goes, "most of you would bitch if they hung you with a new rope." Try doing your job and just maybe one day you will get promoted yourself.

Oh, please educate us all on how the pension system works and how great these Bolton Butt Kissers were!

Anyone who thought Bolton was even half-way decent needs to have their head examined.

Doing your JOB doesn't get you promoted......except to appointed positions....and saying that much is a S T R E T C H.

Don't believe me?

How many dirt bags or retreads have been promoted because they "did well on the test". Performance don't mean squat....even more so now that Merit raises were suspended.

There have been a lot of quality people promoted, but performance on other than the test had nothing to do with it.
