Judge Kaplan is a great guy.....a real life saver and a friend to the police in Atlanta and Dekalb. The last time I saw him was in 2001 in Dick's Sporting Goods in Buckhead. I had not seen him prior to that for years and he remembered me by name. I wish the judge and his family well. May God bless him.

The very best to Judge Kaplen, I never met the man but from what I have read, a true man in every sense of the word.

If an officer got shot or stabbed you wanted Judge Kaplan to be the first on the scene. If an officer down call went out, Judge Kaplan would be enroute and nothing would stop him from getting to that officer. He would shot the prep if needed, get the officer stablized, and then go patch up the perp. That's the type of guy Judge Kaplan is. A true friend of every police officer.

King Arthur was one of my instructors when I went through the academy. Major Kaplan is a true hero.

Hospice is never good news. May God be with the Judge and his family during this most difficult time.

If only we all aspired to leave such a wonderful legacy....God bless him, and his family for supporting him so he could live his life in such a noble way.

Judge Kaplan taught me in 1987 in Class 29 Sierra Hotel taught by Tommy Irwin and the Late Derwin Brown. Can someone post an address where we can send a card or note to let him and the family know we are thinking of them and how much he has truly meant to us?

I have since left and now work back in my hometown Tuscaloosa Alabama Sheriff;s Office. You can find me on Facebook- Andy Norris or Twitter www.twitter.com/SgtAndyNorris.
