I will be in the front row, will rise to my feet and clap my hands as loudly as I can following any statement by Director Miller praising our Dunwoody firefighters.

Finally, somebody in Dekalb government willing to step up and take responsibility. Someone willing to face the music and address the issues. Kudos Miller. Kudos.

We all know Vernon and Bolton would have been dodging the bullet, blaming anything and everybody else. Or, the general assembly would have simply formed a committee to "study" the issue.

Who cares he needs to worry about whats left of the county, Dumpwoody is on there own now.

Anon3, that is simply not true. Dunwoody receives, water & Sewer, sanitation, fire services, roads & drainage and other services from the county. They pay the county for these services, and we need all the cash they will send us. Vernon Jones and the BOC had the same short-sighted attitude and now the county is reducing our pay and benefits to compensate for the recession and the loss of Dunwoody revenue. Dunwoody needs DeKalb a lot less than we need their revenue. Director Miller is commended for his straight-up handling of this fiasco.

Right, Who cares. Look Around...Vernon and Bolton are gone but Ellis continues to get a free pass. He has twice the staff that Vernon had and they are all seeking 10-15% raises while we will be geting no raises, furlough days and no holidays. We don't need a Public Safety Director or CEO.

Anon3, I'm curious..did you apply to be a Dunwoody Police officer and were rejected simply because the standards were set too high for you to qualify. Is this why you refer to the city as "Dumpwoody" in some obvious bout of aggression? As we all know rejection can be rough but be thankful my friend, you do still have a job!

I agree, abolish The Director's position and the CEO. Just two more ego's we dont need. That first post on here must have came from his driver. I about threw up.

Anon #6 - read it again. I support our FIREFIGHTERS. I didn't say anything about Director Miller, other than I will go hear him speak, and I will show support for the FIREFIGHTERS. OK?
Some people in Dunwoody have been more than unkind to them recently, and I believe it's very wrong to put them in that position.

How exactly is Miller going to take responsibility? He didnt resign, yet he is over the fire department. But has he ever even had a fire class? If he is supervising the department, this falls on him. He oversees a department with no adequate knowledge or training is exactly why this tragedy happened. We needed a public safety director when bolton was still here to reign in his madness. now foster is gone, so the new chiefs of police and fire should be expected to run their own departments. a public safety director isn't needed, especially when he just runs up the County tab with take home car, aides and drives and more aides and an admins..

Ellis is just like Vernon was on running the police department. Some things never change.
