DeKalb County is paying a high price for School Police. It appears that the real police ( DeKalb Police ) are the ones who are always having to handle everything at the schools.
The School Police have take home cars and work during the day. They hire DeKalb Police to handle all the school functions. If they would split their shifts they could cover all these night activities.
If the school system and county wants to save money they need to abolish the whole school police department.
Have you ever look at the salaries of school police. They get raises every year but the real police do not.
Just thinking of my lost holidays and furlough days.
I bet the school police were the last ones to show.
The last one's to show...... in my experience that is IF they show! Usually it comes across as "have Dekalb advise "... I'm 10-6 with Amerian Idol at home.

School Police need to go and make this budget in better shape.
What good are they , never available when you need them at a school.
I like how they do salaries, they just decide what your starting pay should be and then its done.
Sorry you're in this position guys. But I do love a good story about how stupid people who break the law are. Really makes my day.
I'm not mad about a school police officer's pay. I'm mad that(we) Dekalb Police lost our holidays and don't get our raises. We should be making more money than what we get now. Especially since we have to clean up other departments crap.
