Director Miller's Female Driver Suddenly Transfered To Uniform Division

Lieutenant V.S. Logan has suddenly been transferred to the Uniform Division, East Precinct.

Sgt. D.M. Bentley has been chosen to replace Logan.

The only question that comes to mind is, What's up with that?

When you make a career based on who you know and who you $!@& stuff like this happens. If you get a position base on your knowledge and job performance you don’t have to worry about this kinda BS.

Why does the Director need a driver anyway? Is it a dual role position like Aide/Driver? It seems like it might be a waste of manpower. Either way, unless his driver also serves as his aide I can no reason for a Lieutenant to hold that position.

Why the hell does he have a driver? CEO Ellis, is this the kind of waste of money you approve? I bet he makes at least a 100k, he should be able to drive himself. Is that not a skill set he acquired? I'm so disgusted with this place!

OUCH!!! So True!

Of course there will be a lot of rumors flying about this one but only one of them is actually true. Many people know this already but what actually happened is this. Last week Logan went to a party at some restaurant near Stonecrest Mall, got drunk and wellllll I’ll just say she acted like a bloody fool and leave it at that. Director Miller found out about her public conduct and did not care for it to say the least. Apparently he said he would not have a lieutenant acting like an idiot in public and embarrassing the police department. He transferred her butt to uniform, where she should have been in the first place. I do not know Lt. Logan but I know she is arrogant and will not speak to anyone below the rank of Major.

I have nothing bad to say about Director Miller on this one. Hell, I commend him for taking the action he took. We (DKPD) have had enough embarrassing incidents over the last few years to last a life time. If you can not conduct yourself in a decent manner while off duty then you should not be in law enforcement.

The before mentioned party was hardly a secret. People were talking about it all weekend and how SOME officers acted like they were at a frat party. From what I hear, most officers who attended were fine but there is always a few who ruin everything. At any rate I am surprised at how fast WZ Miller dropped the ax. I also hear that there may be a few more heads to roll but that IS just another rumor and I am not sure about that one.

I do not know Sgt. Bentley either, but I hear good things about him.

Wow, there are so many haters in the Department. Lt. Logan attended this gathering and like many other officers and had a few drinks. She was not sloppy drunk, she was not put out and no one had to carry her. She was actually looking very nice, which is probably where the hate is coming from. From the moment she made Lt., she has had haters. So to all you dummies, GET A LIFE! I don't know who you are who made the last comment, but Lt. Logan speaks to everyone and is not arrogant. Anyone who has ever worked for and with her would have nothing bad to say.

Hell, I have no doubt that she may be your or whoever supervisor one day!

You people act like no police ever get drunk. Lt. Logan was out of uniform and off duty. She wasn't driving either. And how in the hell can you say that she embarrassed anyone? If she was some ugly road officer, people would have nothing to say.

As far as dropping the ax, Lt. Logan was not demoted and didn't lose any pay. Hell she is gone back to uniform with less responsibility. I would say she is okay!

I'm sorry, I was trying to impress you. I don't know what it means. I'll be honest, I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.

It is really sad how cowards come to this blog and tear down fellow officers. No one really knows why Lt. Logan was transferred but instead of going to Director Miller or Lt. Logan and asking you all want to come here and just spread rumors. We have more serious problems in this county than why someone got transferred, who's doing what on their off duty time,etc.. all that I can say is God Bless all of my co workers reading this and we all need to worry about our own problems instead of others. If one of us to was fall in the line of duty today we would be touched by that loss so keep that in mind instead of the rumormill.

Does he really have a driver? I remember the good ole days and both Bobby and Dick drove themselves but I guess that is too old fashioned. Does Obrien have a driver?

I've worked with Lt. Logan. I thought she did a good job and would work for her again.

That being said, why do we have drivers at all? Isn't the county provided take-home, pimped out Crown Vic or fuel efficient SUV enough of a perk?

Good leaders lead by example!

When the budget shortfall is being made up on the backs of officers (furloughs...no holiday pay....no merit increases or cost of living increases....increased pension contributions...increased health insurance) don't they think cutting back on the largesse is called for?

Because the money isn't there, we're driving line vehicles with over 185,000 miles! ....officer, wha are your chargers and what is your mileage?....I know we spent money on pursuit training, but you vehicle has too many miles is not safe for pursuit speeds....break it off!

Drive yourself!

Why doesn't Adam Murphy ask he tough questions?....how many "drivers" does the county have and WHAT DOES IT COST!

Hey folks - probably has a lot to do with A: Loss of Lt's due to early retirement, and B: Recent loss of Lt. "Teflon" at East. Probably hard to find a replacement right now for such a sudden loss.

I just want to personally say all of you guys who are on here bashing your co-worker you sound like fools. Before you speak or spread a rumor you should really sit back and think how ignorant your gonna sound when you don't know the truth. It's funny we get paid to investigate yet you get on here and ASSUME. What makes any of you on here different than the perps you arrest. All of you are perped out. You get a kick out of Defaming, critisizing, bashing, and as some of you put it on here HATING on your co-workers. I think all of you are LOSERS!!!! Worry about the shit that happens behind your closed doors. LT. Logan feel free to transfer if you like, more power to u.

You have to love all her tattoos, I think some are very interesting. I guess she got special approval to avoid any violations.

I remember the stories from when she was assigned to I.A. and the studs doing battle for her.

Hmm...I worked around her and noticed a sense of arrogance.

As a DeKalb County resident, I could care less about how an officer behaves off duty, so long as they are not breaking any laws. I am disturbed by the "rumors" only because this officer has no way to address these issues in this public forum, but if a Public Safety Director ordered her transferred because he didn't like her off duty conduct, I am concerned that is another display of power gone overboard, and opens the county to legal action (IF the "rumors are close to true.)
What I am also concerned about is why the Director has a driver in the first place. Can someone please explain that to me? I realize I may not understand because I am not a police officer, but it seems absurd and ridiculous that he has one in the first place. Is there justification for it that I am not aware of? And, if so, why isn't a professional driver (from say a taxi, limo service, delivery, etc company) who would cost significantly less than a sworn police officer hired to drive him? I hear complaints about not enough officers on the street, why would one ever be a driver? Why did the expense of training them to do police work go to them being a chauffeur? Again, I may be missing somethings, so please, someone explain it?

Thank you all for your hard work, I like many residents do appreciate it.

To the last poster on why he needs a driver. You would not know because you wont be Public Safety Director.

"Teflon"..ha....I guess it wears out eventually

I worked with her a good while ago at South and she was useless as an officer and the truth is she is arrogant. I say bust her butt down to PO2.

Hell I think I actually dressed up like a pirate at one of our parties several years ago and was told that I was driven home by another officer. WTF is all this crap about a party where an officer was at? Did anybody get killed? Did anybody get maimed? Was any property torn up? Any fights? Did somebody do the dance of the flaming A***ole that got out of hand and burnt the place to the ground? These petty complaints and rumors about a party where an officer was at are too much. You should have seen the parties we used to throw. I feel so sorry for you guys now. Always remember that if you throw a party is not a REAL party until all three (3) divisions of public safety (Police, Fire & EMS) are called out and actually have good reason to respond.

Haaa.. cop drama... LMAO... look at the way y'all behave... no wonder citizens of DeKalb don't respect you. And someone tell "Wiz" to get a bus pass and give me back about $50,000 /yr from a Lt. acting as his chauffer.

Get a dictionary, loser! "Know" means to have knowledge. "No" is the negative term you meant to use.

It's really sad how low the standards in this once fine department have sunk.
