Recommendations made by my police officials????... didn't we hear something like that about Vernon's detail?
If I'm not mistaken, Moody was shown the door when he didn't fall on the sword for Vernon.

Derwin Brown was assassinated a decade ago and then we had 911, security went over the top after that, with good old Vern's Security detachment sucking up 3/4 million a year and running GCIC checks on reporters and counter-surveillance against The DA's office.
Against the background of that we now have CEO Ellis insulated on the 5th floor of the Ponce building. Without a card key you cannot access the floor without escort, and it is far easier to get a card-key to the Jail or 1960 building.
It was far easier to access Vernon (If you could find him, he was as likely to be secretly in Athens, Greece as at his office) than CEO Ellis, and I hate to say it but Vernon's staff was a hell of lot nicer and easier to deal with than Ellis's.
When DeKalb's political leadership is so scared of its employees that it has lost touch with them, then something is badly wrong with DeKalb leadership.
When was the last time any DeKalb employee saw a commissioner or CEO at their facility?
As much as despise Vernon at least he would visit departments and face the employees.
I dare current DeKalb CEO and BOC to do the same.
A suggestion to CEO Ellis. Drop the DKPD units and buy a 12 guage Mossberg, quit acting like a pussy and quit wasting tax payers hard-earned cash.

I would have never thought that the DeKalb County Sherriff would have had the Sherriff Elect murdered in front of his own house but he did. Would any of us really be shocked if we found out that Terrell Bolton had hired someone to shoot the current CEO? I know I wouldn’t. Bolton is one stupid, crazy S.O.B. and I wouldn’t put anything past him. I hate the fact that DeKalb officers have to sit in front of Burrell Ellis’ house as much as anyone. But he probably does have a reason to be scared if you consider who he is dealing with.
When we first read this allegation on another story, we did not believe two police cars were guarding our CEO Burrell Ellis’ house. However, we drove by his house and discovered the statement was true.
It’s a crime to make a threat against an elected official. Someone needs to make a police report against the guilty party to justify the expense of having “two” police patrol guarding the CEO’s home. With all due respect, we have no confidence in Public Safety Director William “Wiz” Miller’s judgment!
Please give Shelia Edwards, the Chief Communications Officer, another political job position. The answers and quotes she gives to reporters on a number of stories on DeKalb County are embarrassing.

Why does Wiz Miller listens to Edwards and allow her to speak on Police issues. She is an idoit and having her around speaks volume about Ellis' character.
Ellis you should be ashame of yourself. Buy a gun and defend your family if you need to or give up your position. Do officers have police protection for their families while they are out fighting crime in the mean streets of DeKalb. Who ideal was it anyway? Brown or Miller??

Its funny that the bloggers don't
remember Bolton coming to COMSTAT during the CEOs election and re-assuring everyone that people have died in DeKalb County politics referring to Sheriff Elect Derwin Brown. You telling me that man want do something crazy? His lawyer needs to wake up and so does the blog. CEO keep the extra security and forget channel 46.
