Pawn Desk Supervisor Terminated

Sylvia Woods, a long time pawn desk supervisor has been terminated. It appears she failed to verify any stolen article, including guns of all types, that was recovered by any other police agency, or pawnshop.

Other allegations include cheating on her payroll time, for example, taking a day off, but documenting being at work.

It is alleged this had been going on for up to 10 years!

More to come.

NOTHING surprises me about this S*&%hole anymore. Are there any decent people remaining in Dekalb at ALL worth serving? Little legitimate businesses, almost ZERO respectable public safety employees remaining, and NOTHING tourists from anywhere would bother coming to visit if they have any sense The entire playing board needs to be cleared and started anew at this point for any chance of salvation.

Chief Dale Holmes fired her and I’m glad he did. But I’m sure nobody will want to give him credit for it.

When is the last time a detective got a pawn hit on a stolen gun.

There are hundreds of guns at pawn shops all over metro Atlanta reported stolen from DeKalb County on hold for pick up.

She was protected by the prior administration,Farley and Moody so they are to blame for this embarrassment.

Fired instead of prosecution because it went on for so many years. I hope this leads to her being arrested.

Oh hell yes I'll give Chief Holmes all the credit for getting ride of that POS. Looks like he's the only one with a pair. Now lets see if the DA's Office will prosecute her like they should. If she were a sworn officer, well you should already know the answer to that.

I am sorry to change the subject but could one of you fine officers please come and get Vernon Jones off of Hwy 138 in Conyers. He's wearing a yellow hard hat now. I guess that means he is going to create jobs??

So how does this effect NCIC? Why has not Dora Tabb realized this? This does not surprise me, she was trouble back when they put her in that position "threatening racial discrimination" if they didn't put her in that position after Gina Pittman retired.

I give Sgt. Germano and Lt. Logan the credit. They have done the investigation.i am glad the Chiefs finally backed them.Way to go guys.

The pawn desk has not help solve any cases in the last 10 years. I find it hard to believe that the sergeants never realized that we were never getting any pawn hits.

So everything stolen from DeKalb was never pawned.

The issues with the pawn unit and this particular supervisor has been brought to the attention of many supervisors for many many years. They were not ignorant to the fact. It started day one when she was put in there. Ask every person that has worked in there and why they are no longer in there. Oh and let's not forget Joiner and Maddox who played protector too. Don't forget them.
