Tragedy Strikes Tampa Bay Police

Two Tampa Bay Florida police officers were gunned down early this morning during a traffic stop.

We have seen such tragedy here before. Pray for their families and the officers who have to sit in that dreadful roll call room tonight.

Remember, on July 4th, you will be working for reduced pay. Be careful and watch each others back. We only have each other.

Do we know if the A-Hole that did this was arrested or killed?

Hey guys - I know I joke around a lot but this is some serious shit. It was only a little over 2 years ago that our department suffered a similar loss with Barker and Bryant. I feel like we should make an effort to show our support to the families of Officer Curtis, Officer Kocab and our brothers and sisters in blue at TPD. I feel like it should be more than a donation, more than a card, more than a bouquet of flowers. I joined DKPD because it has a reputation of being one of the best departments in the country. Let us continue to live up to that reputation and support our family in their time of need.

God bless these fine young men who didn't deserve an end like this. It's heartbreaking.
And God bless you and thank you Dekalb Officers for risking your lives to keep the scum off the streets. You deserve better than what you're getting from our pathetic "leaders".

Suspect is still on the loose. We should expect that someone will cry out about his right's being violated once he's arrested.

Both officers were shot in the head at close range, without returning fire. Never, ever, forget your training. Every stop could be your last.

Just a question: God forbid, but if something like this should happen to one of our own on July 4, would the widows benefit check be short 10 percent?

Just wondering.

I remember Step's funeral a few years back. He got murdered by some maggot from New Orleans about this same time of year. After that I asked myself if it was worth it anymore. That funeral made me realize that I had made the right choice. I wonder if the public in Tampa loves thier officers as much as the public loves us in DeKalb?

Tampa will step up. They have an extremely decent chief who is respected by her officers. the atmosphere down here is nothing like what I saw in Atlanta.

BTW, four Tampa-area officers were shot this week -- two others in a nearby county were saved by their vests.

An arrest was made in this killing and APD made their arrest in the killing of a SW Atlanta store owner. Good job and now court system do your damn jobs. Stop issuing probations, timeouts and time served.

My prayers go out to the officers and their families. We put our lives on the line for others every time we put that uniform on. When we loose one of our own, no one feels the impact, but their family and US.
