Recorders Court has decided to change the preselected court dates of each officer with total disregard for the officer's regular off days, leave time, child care issues and overtime cost to the taxpayers of DeKalb.
All court dates for October, November and December will be changed to conform to the courts scheduling, not yours.
Who loves you baby?

If you think you're going to call me at home on my off day and tell me I have to be in Recorder's Court the next day, also my off day, without putting a subpoena in my hand, you're dreaming!
That's OK. It will be hard to give me a court date when I haven't written a long copy in some time. Warning tickets have and will continue save me a lot of free time not going to court after working all night.
Well that will just increase the number of dismissed cases. Most officers don't knw when their court date is.
Hmmm... you don't go to court for short, yellow copies.
Press soft... two copies.
The S--T storm never stops does it. Only until someone that has the ability to change things for the better and is willing to do so. Why will no one do anything? Can the top Brass not see how bad things have gotten? Do they not remember what it was like before they were promoted? I guess they just like to sit behind there desk just like it has always been at Dekalb. Maybe someday.....
Stop writing tickets! You don't have to go to Recorders Court, and they go broke! It's win/win for us. Until the county and the brass show some guts and tell Judge Withers to stop treating officers like slaves we need boycott them!
I see Judge Withers has the same mentality as the BOC..... when will they realize that it is easier and less costly to work with officers than to screw them over.
I don't know about yall, but my butt's getting a little sore.
No tickets....no revenue for the BOC to buy votes.... I mean build sidewalks...
No tickets....no cases...no need for officers to go to Recorders Court....
No tickets.... no need for more than one or two judges...no need for more than one or two clerks... ......no need for more than one or two data entry clerks and no need for more than one or two cashiers.
Problem solved.
Keep this up and Judge Withers will preside over an empty court room.
Heck...I'll take my suspension day during a furlough pay period.
I'm sure they'll pull someone from ICP to take up the slack.
Damn...in addition to everything else going one, I've grown tired of standing around in the hallways behind the Recorders Court courtrooms.
More efficient my _ss.... I stand around a lot longer than I did in the past!.... what takes them so mother freakin' long to put up a list of needed badge numbers.
Judge Withers, trust me... I've grown tired of your sh_t and will add that to the list of reasons I'm not writing long copies.
Side bitch.... if you're gonna have us stand around for so long, why don't you put in some benches/some place for us to sit down....maybe even a TV like they put in the entrance to 34.
Talk now is that Recorders Court may have to start laying off employees because of a lack of work coming into the court...hence...no tickets....perhaps the employees there need to get behind the officers and support our efforts instead of whining that we are costing them their job. By all means all county employees are in this together and in some way or another it affects us all....it's time the employees stand together and stop being the whipping board for the BOC....Commissioners listen up....ALL OF THIS IS YOUR FAULT....IF THE SHIP SINKS IS BECAUSE OF YOUR ARROGANCE....
I hope that you will keep up this site for a long time. It brings the employees that matter together and puts us on the same goals.
Thank you for what you do.

Recorder Court- Where do we begin, officers having to report every week for court. Officers having court at 9 am and 2pm and 5pm... all in the same day. Guess what they worked Morning Watch.
They want the money and they do not know how to get it.
Officers are going to court several times a month. The COMMAND STAFF has no control over this because its a Burrell Ellis venture. MONEY-MONEY MONEY- all that counts.
They want traffic tickets to make up for the budget fall out in DeKalb.
Well the citizens are just as broke as the county.
Its all about money and nothing else for the current administration.
They keep paying out the big bucks for all the problem children of the CEO.

Yup....the problem children are always taken care of...... they get fired and brought back....... then promoted/given rank.
Dekalb seems to really value the problem kids over their hard workers.
If I were you guys I wouldn't write a long copy if anything ever again for the foreseeable future! If you resond to a 41 (a car wreck to you civilians) I wouldnt even write one then, and put in the narrative the "you are unable to find who is at fault based on the evidence at the scene". Do that and even the insurance companies will start to scream.
Turn off your cell phone when your off duty or better yet get a private one for your private life and dont give the county the number. Make them try and get ahold of you. Some of us remember how we policed before cell phones and computers when all we had was a home phone that we would unplug so we could sleep. Do you have a take home car because you are on call 24/7? If not, then yall need to learn how to make yourselves unavailable!
Also, suspension days are not a bad thing expecially when you get enough of them they run concurrently with off days. Plenty of time to come see some of your old police buddies in PC and drink a cool one and watch the sun set and think how wonderful it is in DeKalb. Look closely while your there and you'll see your see some of your supervisors right beside you!

Remember that the folks that work at recorders court, well their job only exists because we give them something to do.
No tickets, no JOBS! They should be extremely nice to the ones who puts a pay check in their hands.
When was the last time a clerk or judge told you thank you for giving me a job officer.
How many millions does Recorder Court take in a year?
