Are retirees eligible for the Insurance Buy Out Program too?

I went to open enrollment 2day and personnel said this is untrue. If it a lie they told it!

Like I posted earlier...I was there today and there was NO MENTION of a "buyout".

Here's the link on the county network: You can give it to personnel.

"Personnel said this is untrue", yet the document shows it is true.
From a taxpaying Dekalb County citizen, GREAT job on communication (NOT). As one who has worked in benefits, you in personnel should be ashamed of yourselves for not going to an "open enrollment" prepared.
Stupid.

Could this be Dekalb County Illinois?

The form states "decline health insurance coverage through DeKalb County Government for the 2010 calendar year" 2010 is almost over guys!!

I hope they look at this plan to help avoid furlough days. I don't care what state has the plan it sounds good.

Too good to be true, I was hoping and praying and even dreaming that this county was doing something good for employees.

I wondered why it said this was for the 2010 calendar year when the 2010 calendar year is almost over.

How did the fact this form isn't from DeKalb County GEORGIA slip by the blogmaster, even after the blogmaster posted a link to DeKalb County Illinois' website?

I think we always hope for something perfect to come to us. This was not meant to be and we have to look as to why someone else got the better deal.

Hint:

Burrell Ellis

Why don't Dekalb Georgia have this for insurance coverage? This is a perk, wait I forgot , look who is in charge.

Somehow I think someone is trying to make a point about who running this county.Did this blog really make a mistake or point out something that makes things better here if they would put if into effect.

DeKalb Illinois....too funny!!!

If it benefited the employees then DeKalb would not even consider implementing this to our current insurance program.

The blog got it wrong twice, since the post right below this one also mentions the county offering a $2,200 buy out and complains about it being wasteful county spending.

Why is everyone so concerned about this issue?

The bigger issue is how the commissioners and Burrell Ellis are spending money hand over fist on their chosen few, while we are being furloughed and our insurance premiums are being increased.

I'm more concerned about putting food on the table for my family.

And people wonder why we can't unite.

Put the Wiz Miller Kool Aide down for a minute and realize this blog has done more for us then any one person in the command staff or on the board of commission.

I think someone has made a point. I do not think this was inept but a point well made. Why dont we have this plan at DeKalb?

Hey we can move to Dekalb Illinois and have what they do not offer in Dekalb Georgia.

The Bottom line is the Officers in "Dekalb Illinois" have a union unlike us....It is also in a part of the country where the gov't acctually cares about their officers and makes sure they are taken care of. Dekalb county gov't makes me sick shame on all of you!!

".........this blog has done more for us then any one person in the command staff or on the board of commission."

That's a fact jack. The absolute first voice we have ever had comes from cyberspace. So much for command staff management ability even way way back in DKPD history.

If we as police officers acted even remotely as irresponsible as the BOC or the CEO, not only would we be fired, but we would be in jail. I cannot wait for this place to implode, it won't be long now.

DeKalb Illinois, what do they offer, my guess would be a much more competent leadership than here!

I don't think the blog was pointing this out as something that would work great here in DeKalb since the first story where it was mentioned said it was a bad idea and a waste of money. Pay attention to details, people! Of course, the blogmaster could just clear up all of this confusion for us and tell us why this mistake took place.

DeKalb Officers--the link you attached is for DeKalb County Illinois.

Good investigating whoever figured this out.

Whoops!, DeKalb Officers Speak.

But, I understand. We all are human and make mistakes. No one is perfect.

This is funny. The blog has taken on a responsibility to give information and once again its WRONG! Yes I said again go back look for yourself at old stories and posts. People take the info here get off your A#$ and find the answers on your own. It really is not that hard.

Rhut-RO! Of course its not DeKalb GA because the idea makes way too much sense and would save DeKalb government money!

Their are like 20 DeKalb counties in other states, DeKalb Illinois is the next to the largest after DeKalb GA. DeKalb GA holds honors for the biggest and baddest DeKalb of all. Haargh!

Wasn't a mistake, it was genius.

Alright people, mistakes happen. Get over it an move on. I printed it off thinking it would be nice, but it's not true so I put it in the shredder and went about my business.
