DeKalb OKs $73,000 Raise For School Chief

This has nothing to do with P.D., but damn, they are robbing the treasures of the county without care.

You have to laugh out loud at the thievery.

Fellas.........why do you stay and work in such a dump? If you cant see that this place is a dead end and you need to move on then you deserve everything the BOCs shove down your throats!!!!!!!!

Respect yourselves and move on!!!!!!! DC isn't worthy of not only yours but also your family's sacrifices.

The dog is eating its tail!

A majority of the county taxes go to the school system. She deserves a raise!!! I've been working my position since 2007 and still no raise. This place is a joke!!!

Black Water is recruiting training officers for $1,000.00 a day starting out. Why bother with this Mickey Mouse place any longer?

Those people just sit back and laugh at the public, saying "Yeah, we did it...what-choo gonna do about it!?!"

What a travesty. It's immoral. While teachers continue to spend money out of their own pockets for basic necessities for their students, these people have the audacity to flaunt their power and enjoy their riches. Too bad they don't have the sense to be embarrassed.

I moved out of Dekalb County many months ago. can't you see that this county is completely disorganised and corrupt. The leaders are completely out of thier minds. I urge all public safety personnel to get the hell out of the county and start a peacefull life some where else. The county should be investigated by the feds, even though they are a buch of nuts too. Go while you have a chance.

A Watchful Eye said...

The Dekalb BOE has no business whatsoever handling or dispersing money from taxpayers and grant money from the state or the feds.
These idiots are WORSE than the Dekalb BOC.

This interim chief doesn't need or warrant this raise at any price because she is not permanent. The nerve to ask for a raise in these tough time when employees of the school system are taking furluogh days, pay cuts, and the like, is totally rediculious.

Nevertheless, this government doing what theydo best.......SPEND, SPEND AND SPEND some more.

People, its time we take the bull by the horns and get rid of the whole darn bunch

They mine as well have just given her a cool $100K raise. <----- Being sarcastic.

But we are all missing the facts surrounding this raise. As commissioner Rader stated " You have to produce to receive". Have you guys missed all the achievements of the DeKalb School System. Crime within the schools is up, test scores are down, teachers are as pissed as we are. Hopefully this helps to understand why a raise is justified. Just how much will the citizens of DeKalb absorb before they uprise against the real criminals in this county.

This women is a greedy, hungry, eating xxxxxx!!!!! At first she didn't want anything and now she does! Of course, this county finds it awarding to her hard work? Listen, majority of us have been busting our tails off for this county with no retributions. If CEO Ellis can insult us with $250, 500, or $600...then you can fork out alot more! You too are greedy Mr. CEO... I can only hope that the Federal Government does a Federal Investigation soon!!! This will be the only way to save this county in their financial woes!!!

Reminds me of Big Vernon when he promised to not increase his salary if re-elected, then the first year of his second term he gave himself a $100K increase.

Greed is all that these 'leaders' in DeKalb are about, it only is more obvious now that the budgets are tight. They will not give up the greed because they know the house is on fire so they are grabbing as much as they can.

It is sad to see what our leaders are really made of now that times are getting tough and the leadership role they have is requiring more than just kissing butt and dressing fancy.
