This will probably turn into another Nichols case. Sad this coward didn't resist just a little to save us a trial. Until the courts treat these repeat offenders for what they are nothing will ever change. Too bad a life was lost for a sorry p.o.s. that should have been locked away. Prayers to the troopers family and loved ones.

Every 'average Joe' should be enraged by the apparent disregard our courts have for public safety. How many police officers and regular people have to be killed, raped, and maimed by repeat offenders who are out on bond, cut an ankle monitor, or simply aren't prosecuted?

The defense attorney is a barfbag - 'scared young man'?!? Please. Based on the dashcam transcript, it sounds like this guy was a) DUI or at a minimum, open container, b) about to have a bench warrant for missing his court date, and c) a repeat disrepector of law enforcement in general.

It's too bad this wasn't a fair fight so this dirtbag couldn't get what he deserved.

I wish judges and court officials could be held accountable for letting potentially dangerous people out of the system early. 19 arrests...supposedly none violent...and now he's "scared and depressed". Someone needs to shoot that defense attorney in the neck and see how scared and depressed he gets.
This situation is just another example of irresponsibility in our legal system.

A bank in Conyers was just robbed.

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/26313755/detail.html

One of the suspects, Mr. Nyepah, is currently out on bond for a DeKalb County MURDER CHARGE. His bond was set at a remarkable $5,000. $5,000 for murder!!!! That means if he went to a bonding company to get out of jail, he only had to come up with $600 to walk out of jail for a MURDER CHARGE!!

Mr. Nyepah had a bond ten times higher a year earlier when he was arrested for Aggravated Assault by Stone Mountian Police.

You try to kill someone, you get a $52,000 bond. You actually kill someone, and you get a $5,000 bond? What the f*ck is wrong with these Judges and our District Attorneys? There needs to be some f*cking accountability! We, as police officers can get written up for slightest things. These judges are being lenient as hell as putting the public in danger, and nothing happens.

This dirt bag's attorney, Michael Mann, is just another dirt bag himself. I speak from the side of personal knowledge as a private investigator who was, at one time, working with new inform. received in a murder case and he was going to handle the appeal. I got so sick and tired of his BS and lies not only to me but to the defendant's family that I just walked away from the entire fiasco. It was my understanding from the ex-g/f of the defendant that Mann acted like the jerk that he is in the courtroom and he walked away with the fee and the def. walked right back to state prison(literally!). And this year Legislature plans to make the laws tougher for recidivism ...what a freakin' joke. Sounds good in theory but will never happen in principal.

It is ALL about to come back around to them. They have pushed their liberal agenda so long and so far it will soon be their wives and daughters being victimized by these animals. Reap what you sow...

To anon 10:15 they can be held accountable. VOTE their sorry ass out of office. And its not just Fulton County just take a look at our Magistrate, State and Superior Court Judges. Same thing different county.

The core metro area tends to be liberal in the judicial justice. Criminals are excused of their crimes in the interest of "social justice" whatever that means.

However things are changing in Georgia. The state used to have extremely restrictive "conceal and carry" weapons law that made most citizens reject the thought of carrying a registered concealed weapon because they be would breaking the law in most places that they frequent.

The new laws give a lot more latitude where you can carry a gun and people are taking advantage of it.

More and more stories are coming out where citizens are defending themselves and the bad guys are coming out dead.

This doesn't set well with metro elected officials who would rather see a citizen dead than admit a citizen has a legal right to defend themselves with lethal force instead of waiting for government intervention.

We will have to see how this trend plays out.

Judges are nothing but lazy lawyers who think they are God.Defense lawyers are dirt.

Cops put their life on the line to catch these assholes and the courts let them out so we can put our lives on the line again for a public, who for the most part does not know and does not care. We are in this by ourselved guy's unite and take care of each other.

I am so glad you posted this information. Lets look at some of Dekalb criminals. Prep who shot Deputy Freeman out on bond, bank robbers in Conyers on of the preps out on bond agg. assault....on and on. I could remerber in Dekalb when a prep could not get a bond on these charges.....

If he had enough money to once again afford representation by Michael Mann, why was he given an SOR bond?

This idiot committed two robberies in 2010.

http://www.ajc.com/news/dekalb/shot-teen-found-dead-792569.html

In both, he was only given a $5,000 bond. He's out on bond for robbery, commits another robbery, and gets another pathetically low bond! Way to go DeKalb County Superior Court!

I guess it all worked itself out in the end!

The readers of this blog get tired about reading about perps who have killed one of brother or sisters, and get a bond for doing it. What kind of nonsense is our judicial system coming to ?

No, we do not want another Brian Nichols case to come to light, another pair of Fulton (or any law enforcement) officers to have the perp get fed for the rest of his life enjoying color tv, R&R, exercise, and all of the amendities
that are associated with prison life. We got rid of the electric chair because the ACLU thought it was inhumane. Thats bullshit !!

It time for these liberal bastards on the bench, to get off their warm fat butts, and do something right for a change instead of that slap on the wrist mentality. Lets go back to an eye for an eye instead of slap and a comment ("bad boy")

The old style of justice worked in the 1800's and dammit, it should work in the 2000's.

LETS ISSUE THE JUDGES ROPE AT THE COURT AND HAVE A GALLOW IN THE COURTROOM.
