It's nice the county says we're covered but it looks like someone forgot to tell the actual insurance company. This is total BS and not acceptable. How in the hell does this happen for the second time in 3 years?????

Why would this action (or non action) surprise any county employee or retiree since the orginal news about this subject was brought to life?

Hey people......This is how things are done in Dekalb County. It isn't nothing new and I doubt very seriously, if it will end with the current problem. Another matter will come to light soon, and the same answer will be the same.

You can be sure of one thing, that those who are screwing up these types of matters are most likely insured with no problems whatsoever.

Aren't you glad you are employed or retired by this highly rated county? The Board of Commissioneers should be called the Bunch of Crooks.

OMG, fact of the matter is there is no checks and balances with this place....absolutely no customer service....If this was a private company someones ass would be fired for not doing their job. It all comes down to someone screwing around not doing what they're paid to do....open enrollment ended back in October... They had 2 months to get everyone updated, if they can't do the job then fire their asses and hire people who can. Unfortunately the idiots that run this fabulous county are just as much to blame. How long and how much does it take for the people in this county and the employees that work for the county to realize that we're on a sunken ship. It's bottoms up baby and there are no life preservers left...time to jump ship....

You know...you would think that the BOC would get tired of all the negative press thanks to all of the screw ups. My guess is that it is not just one department that let us all down...it probably involved everyone who had their fingers in this process. Which leads me to believe - this change over was not very well thought out. Also - Brennan advises that we switched insurance providers...well, that ain't true -all that was done was that choices were eliminated - we have the same old insurance companies that we had last year. Something isn't right about this whole thing...also, those of us who have PPO High with Cigna - did any of you get a benefit detail? I was told by Cigna that the County was suppose to issue those...the County advised they had none to circulate. Cigna told me that I will have to file a claim - and, then they would decide if it is a covered benefit...well, what's that all about? Also - if you have set up a logon for Cigna - go online and view some details about our coverage thru the County....it says that Cigna has "grandfathered" us in and we do not fall under the new Healthcare law...ok, what does that mean? Why in the world couldn't the County have a meeting to describe what is really covered on Cigna's plan? Geez...

I was told, when i called, by the insurance provider that i was covered on jan. 1. I didnt receive my insurance card for 3 weeks.I had no idea i was covered till i called the the insurance provider, not the liberal run county.

I remember being told awhile back / years ago, to stay out of and stay away from peronall. File complaints or questions through the chain of command. How come we are always subordinate to EVERYBODY?

Okay, then, Burke. Simply stated that means that if your insurance provider won't pay then the county most certainly will. We all will now know where to tell the doctor to send the bill...

What really pisses me off is the lack of communication that Police Personnel and Risk Management has with their customers....

Glitch my backside.... I highly doubt that they thought the "problem" was limited to a few cards not being printed and mailed.

We're their customers but they give is little to no information and treat us like enemy they are fighting....they are here to protect Decatur FROM us! Somehow we've become a problem. They'd do away with county employees all together if they could.

Outside getting my cards today, I had to find out on my own (last week) that I now have coverage. That would have been nice to know when the health provider was expecting me to get back with them.

The chief is trying to build us up and create an environment of responsibility and pride...I have a news flash that is old news......

Decatur is still singing the same old song..... "you're a necessary and evil and outside the fact that we need Police, Fire and EMS, we don't give a damn about you"...just put the uniform on, respond when we need you, then crawl back into a dark space... you are to been seen and not heard.
