Winter Storm 2011 - State of Emergency

In all seriousness, if you are not in public safety or a health-care worker, please stay home. By venturing out on the roadways, you make all of our jobs harder.

Be safe!

Getting outside to get a pack of ciggies, loaf of bread, or any other non-emergency reason, is suicide. From past experience as a law enforcemnet officer, 99% of the accidents in this type of weather, is generated by idiots who have no business on the road. They either got bored at home, with the power out, or just wanted to try something new. Either way, it was a big mistake and very costly. Why would they put an emergency vehicle in danger, just to say "I drove in the snow", is totally rediculious.

Officers out there....BE VERY CAREFUL. AN ACCIDENT CAN WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE OR TWO FOR HELP. DOMESTIC FIGHTS ARE NOT GOING TO COOL DOWN IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER.
MURDERS, THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE.

Good Luck !!!

Kudos to motor maintenance for the quick turn around on the chains ...... same to the brass.... the leadership did a good job... ..your planning and prep was first rate.

My team was taken care of and had the needed resources.

I find it very admirable of chief o. Going out there and picking up dispatchers. That's how it should be done.

I have to say I was called in to ferry people in and walked into the top floor ema room and people were actually working taking care of business. Guess that room is used for something after all.
