great job Sgt
It was Sgt. Calamese (probably spelled that wrong)- happened at Club Obsessions, Glenwood/285. Shithole of a club with shithead patrons, oh wait I just described every club in Dekalb. Well done sarge...
should we really be identifying people on this blog who were involved in shootings? I think that is very irresposible. I mean, I get that it can probably be found out with a little digging, but the the department doesn't usually ID officers involved in shootings, so maybe that wasn't the best idea. I am sure with all the emotional stuff he may have to deal with, on top of perp family members trying to sue him, good shoot or not, the last thing we should be doing is outing him on the blog and then people "digitally high fiving him."
Damn Club Obsession...tell me that's a good paying j2 for all the crap that has to come along with it...I think I'll take the property manager of Brannon Hill up on his offer before I'd work a club like Obsession
I am so tired of supposed officers getting on this blog and being so damn politically correct. Part of the reason this blog was created was so we could have a forum where we didn't have to worry about political correctness and just communicate how we feel (prefarably from one officer to another) good and bad. The PC factor is one of the reasons our hands are tied when it comes to doing our job. Also, there's nothing wrong with identifying the officer involved in the shooting- it's public information (Open Records Act).
It does not fall under open records until the case is closed you moron, meaning it has to be closed by DKPD and then reviewed by the DAs Office. I just meant to give the man some privacy. How would you like it? You don't even post under your name.
I've been in his situation and if officers wanted to discuss what happened and mention me by name i would have had no problem with that because i did what i had to do- nothing to be ashamed of. Now i was not clear a case had to be closed to fall under the open records act, i am now. I actually thought your comment about not posting under my name was comical considering you're annonymous as well. I don't want to deflect from the big picture though; i'm glad sarge was prepared to do what he was trained to do before the perp had a chance to hurt him.
Those M&P's are smooooooooth.
To the readers of this blog: please remember Officer Guinta tomorrow who lost her life in an auto accident on 7/20/2002 on N. Decatur Rd while respnding to a call. She is the only female officer with DeKalb whose life was lost while on duty. . She left behind a 6 y/o son. Prayers go out to all of her family.
No shit mine was anonymous. I am not the one calling someone out. You obviously don't follow irony well. Here let me explain: You think its OK to out someone on the blog before the investigation is closed and probably(just a guess) against his wishes, and you post under anonymous.
