That man terrified me...along with Captain Tommy Yates and Lt. Larry Crawford at South Precinct......they were police among police.

God rest his soul.

The family is in my thoughts and prayers. Cancer has taken yet another one of the good guys.
I can't imagine anybody being afraid of any of those guys. Yates was one of the funniest people around. He and Ledbetter would get together and pull pranks on people when you least expected it.

I only wish today's current officers could have been around to see true leadership by those in the past.

These guys were not afraid to make a decision and defend you and the decision.

Today they are scare to do anything without calling the entire chain of command to see what they want them to do.

His brother Earl was one of the best who love the job and would be beside you all the way.

I wonder if this department can ever come back to the days that these officers who have left us can be proud of us again?

They made this department and Captain J.J. Anglin was one of the ones who made us the best.

If Command Staff today was like it was then .....Dekalb would not be in the condition we are in today...."They would walk into roll call and say...We'll handle the complaints...go do your job.....it's a good day to take the perps to jail....BUT..remember...BY THE BOOK!!"...perps knew....you screw up in Dekalb.....or tried to fight a Dekalb officer...it was to jail..by way of Grady E.R. first....and the perps knew it!!!

Folks like J.J. were all around the county command staff...and at every prec......

We need to remember the policy they all set forth....instead of being here to collect a paycheck....Dekalb would be a BETTER place to live....

Go in peace brother...your family and you are in our prayers!!!
