RETIRED THANK GOD said...

I retired with E/O opt but it seems like alot of these badge numbers are still rookies or are the badge numbers already passed 4000? I'm a firm believer in putting plenty of road time in before getting transferred to CID, SOD but I guess its not like it use to be when I started in the 80s.

Not even close to those days anymore. Its all about who you know or who you do....... Badge means nothing!!!!! Its sad around here.

Absolutely!! Any snot-nosed rookie can get a position in SOD / CID. Used to be officers had to be on the road for a significannt amount of time before they could be in CID. I think that started to change with the first 8 years of Vernon Jones administration. Thank God the command staff in CID is decent. Otherwise, our detective division would look like the rest of this effin' county. Just a question. Have any of watches at the precincts had command staff come in and extoll the virtues of keeping up productivity like they are our best buddies? I have gone from 15 per shift to 2 per shift. Just a couple so no one can say I didn't try. Figure I am costing the county between $1500 and $2500 per shift.

Officers should be rotated out of uniform periodically to lessen the burnout factor in Dekalb.

Half of you SOB's are in the same catagory as the young badges. Stop complaining, put your time in and handle business. Don't worry about things you can't control.

Dont complain about badge numbers....so many senior officers have left. So many GOOD officers who would have stayed and retired left becuase they got sick of this place.

When you crap all over your employees, a lot of them will jump ship even if it means a pay cut....which we have all seen.
