Congratulations to all.... I'm surprised not to see a number of sergeants and lieutenants from South on the list of those being transferred/moved ..... that's what I'd expect after this week's J-1's.

Wow, shakeup in Chiefs Office........

Anonymous said...

congrats!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Mighty Mouse to save the day.

Anonymous said...

Well we see the Director still has his hands in the chosen ones.

Anonymous said...

Looks like Major Anderson has finally met her obligations in her deal for testifying against Bolton.

Anonymous said...

It's good to see people still get rewarded around here for doing nothing. And the cliques taking care of there own. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Anonymous said...

Anon 9:25 Yes, you would think that sex ring would be broken up starting with their Major down but it hasn't and this is because Major Jones is one if the boys. If they don't demote or transfer him all if his dirty laundry will be aired as well.

Anon 1208- Yes, the Director still has his dirty hands in the mixing bowl and I'm very surprised he didn't appoint his ex driver, she has been completed her probation hasn't she?

Anonymous said...

Congrats Sg. Andrew, It looks like someone finally listened to how you were wronged at training.WOW.Thanks Chief for hearing our cries from Training.

Anonymous said...

Congrats Artime, all your hard work has paid off. Glad to see you back in CID. Good choice by the division leaders.

Anonymous said...

Where did Anderson go?

Anonymous said...

SGT.Andrew knows what he did was wrong...So no need for congrats...and who is the one crying from training...She got more done than any of the others before her.

What a hoot! 1st Tonya now Kliesrath. I'm glad I retired years ago. I would be as crazy as an outhouse rat right now. And - for the one who says Dedrick did alot for the Academy - you must be joking...Capt. Peacock was the best. Y'all take care.

Anonymous said...

He has to come to work first before you congratulate someone.

Anonymous said...

Didn't mention moving the Lt. to the medical examiner's as an acting director!

Anonymous said...

Which Lt. is moving to Medical Examiner? Thought a ex pd offficer had this slot.

Anonymous said...

I heard that there is basically a sex ring going on at South. Someone told me that there are at least 11 members involved including a Captain, Lt., some Sgts, and road officers. Any truth to this?

Anonymous said...

Calhoun is at the M.E. Office.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1159- Is there? From their Major down

Anonymous said...

More promotions from an already top heavy department......Although some may be deserving for the promotion, this department already has too many Sgts, Lts, Capts, and Majors. Where do they put em??

Anonymous said...

To 11:59 that's why they don't want any spotlight on South right now. Need to send the crazy major to straighten things out.

Anonymous said...

All one has to do here is stir the pot a little and the puppets start dancing as usual haha

Anonymous said...

Sex ring?.....I must be too busy doing my down south because I think I would have heard a rumor from someone other than an anonymous poster on the blog.... Do you have an ax to grind? Or do you have concrete evidence to backup such scurrilous, defamatory rhetoric?

Anonymous, baseless slander is the lowest of low. You paint with a broad stroke that taints a number of innocent, honorable, hard working officers, sergeants, lieutenants, etc....etc. As a south precinct officer, I'm offended and insulted.

I've earned my badge and have done nothing to disgrace it, my family, and my good reputation.

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:21....... You said taint! LOL

Anon 3:21 said...

Yup, I may not agree with you but, I do have the same retirement package. Every precinct has their problem children.... south is no different. I've spent numerous years at other precincts and seen the same lack of drive and morals that I see at south.... those lacking officers though do not reflect the majority. South's biggest problem is the lack of experience ...... most at south have less than five years.

Anonymous said...

OMG what in the hell is going on at the ME office. Calhoun is a complete moron, always has been always will be. he couldnt cut it in Major Felony so they hid him out in training. Now he is a Director at the Medical Examiners Office. Please somebody tell me what his qualifications are besides buddys with Holmes and Miller. This cant be true, god help you people there

Anonymous said...

Wait...Calhoun is at the M.E. Office? How/why did that happen?

Anonymous said...

Problems at the South Precinct? Consider this citizens perspective.

Over a period of years I have attempted to contact the South Precinct on either Saturday or Sunday. Never, not one time did anyone ever answer the phone. I would call the other Precincts to see if they answered the phone. On every occaysion but one a Most Courtious Officer would answer the phone.

I have lived in North DeKalb, Emory Morningside and South DeKalb. No where in the Metro Atlanta Area is their so much Video Poker Gambling as in East and South DeKalb. Most in plain sight. The seedy bars like we have at Moreland Ave and Cedar Grove Roads abound with all types of Criminal Activity. How many thousands of people have walked by Uniformed DeKalb County Officers sitting in these seedy bars having a "free lunch", sometimes within 15 feet of 35-40 Illegal Video Poker Machines over the last 15 years? Now what do you think these people think? The actions of a few bring shame upon the Entire Force.

Here is a Test for the South Precinct.

How about The Command Staff, Chief O"Brien included with the Major at South put on their "big boy britches" and march down to Moreland Ave and Cedar Grove Roads and take care of the business they should have taken care of 15 years ago.

You got Three Pits of Hell in a row at Moreland Ave and Cedar Grove Roads that have had little to NO Code Enforcement and little to NO Pro-Active Police Work covering any aspect of crime what so ever for years. And you wonder why two Officers have been shot on Bouldercrest Road?

Well, I guess we will see when Moreland Ave and Cedar Grove Roads gets cleaned up?

If not done so soon, Perhaps the BOC can delegate these duties to the Sheriff's Office.

Let me say that one more time, If for what ever reasons the DeKalb Police Department Can Not clean up this Crime all about East and South DeKalb County then Delegate These Duties to the Sheriff's Office.

Calhoun has a Masters Degree plus he is a Collage Professor. What about you?

Anonymous said...

Yup, Calhoun is Director of the Medical Examiners Office. Guess no one down there was as qualified as he is. I guess after an exhaustive search, they (??) found that Calhoun was the most qualified. When I retire I'm gonna apply to be Secretary of Agriculture.

Anonymous said...

I'm hearing some of the recent retirees are gearing up to staff this Brookhaven PD as they want the former glory that DeKalb once was.

Anonymous said...

But where is that master's from?

Anonymous said...

Calhoun is not the first person who has a degree and is still a moron. He cannot even speak the english language. Rumor has it Pat Bailey was running the M.E. office and doing a great job until he refused to kiss the miller times butt. So now he put one of his butt kissing lap dogs, "Calhoun" down there in charge. No way in hell he is qualified for that position. But as Calhoun likes to say, "it is what is is" and "this to shall pass" We can only hope it passes in a hurry. Come on Wiz you know this is a bunch of crap, Ellis you need to step in on this one before he ruins that office.

Anonymous said...

wow you know there is a world out there guys, go find it remove the bucket from your head, FORWARD MARCH!

Anonymous said...

Wiz won't wipe his butt without Ellis's say so. So you can bet that the change at the m e office comes straight from the top.

Anonymous said...

Seems like there's a STORY here on the M.E.s office? This county issues press releases everyday, for some pretty dumb stuff. Just look at your emails. But, put in a new director at the M.E.s office, and you get silence. I'm surprised the county didn't bring in someone from Atlanta to fill that position. They sure have been bringing them in lately and we all know how well they ran Atlanta.
To anon 5:45 it's "college" and you don't have to have a masters degree to be a "college" professor.

To: November 20, 2011 11:59 PM

Yes indeed. There is a sex ring going around at south. Capt sleeping with aids, sgts. sleeping with officers on same watch(day watch) admin officer sleeping with every guy at precinct and mpo officers doing female rookies officers promising them j2. All females at south were called into IA one by one

Anonymous said...

To anon 5:45
Is that you Calhoun? Why don't you just sign your name?

Anonymous said...

I must say it is a breath of fresh air to work in an environment where court proven racism and race wars do not exist. I can't believe I wasted 20 years of my working life in that shit-hole but it makes you greatly appreciate normalcy and professionalism when you experience it all that more.

Anonymous said...

Anon 11:59, I'm sure the only thing that will come from an investigation is the roll call reading of county policy on employee relations and the responsibilities assigned to the senior officer in th relationship. Once again, the slate will be wiped clean.

Anonymous said...

thats total bullshit, IA better step up and do thier jobs on this one, im sick of seeing perps I mean cops with 3 or 4 cell phones and spending hundreds of minutes on their cell phones talking to females that they pulled over the day before or females they met while on 87's. If there is truth to these allegations demotions better be in order

Anonymous said...

If something was going to happen it already would have so don't bother holding your breath. Remember, you're talking about a county where the Sheriff had his deputies murder the Sheriff Elect while the CEO was busy intimidating a female he just raped after losing multiple racial discrimination suits in civil court while his police chief was calling his subordinate a "white bitch." And these are just the incidents proven in court and reported by the media so imagine the whole truth, the short and the Eddie Long of it. Great job guys...

Anonymous said...

I really loved getting counseling from two East Lts that are now incarcerated. I'm amazed any true professional officer remains at DeKalb.

Anonymous said...

A new posting should be created titled Indictments And Sentencings as that officer list accrues in Dekalb faster than Promotions And Transfers.

Anonymous said...

Haters, don't get mad that some people who have some education and you don't. If you are a hard worker, take care of your responsibilities, pay taxes, why can't you have a good education.

I think you should have some college to be a LT. along with experience.

Anonymous said...

can we get a raise if we have a two year degree, 4 year or a masters?

Anonymous said...

To anon 6:42, while a college degree is supposed to ensure that you will earn more money over a period of time, than someone with a high school diploma, that doesn't apply in DeKalb County. Look, we have endured back sliding salaries in the last 5 years. We are the only department in the county that gives a promotional test. All this means nothing to the BOC and CEO. They lump us in with all the other departments.
I don't think you can require a college degree in this county, given the current attitude. The county offers nothing in the way of salary or incentive to require college. Also, you are forgetting those individuals who have a military background. Don't you think they should receive the same credit for choosing the military. Most have a greater degree of specific training that enhances police work. I have a college degree, but I don't think the degree makes me any better than someone who doesn't. Quite frankly, I'm always suspicious of people that push the college degree requirement. It's as if they think they're better than others. Before, we start requiring a college degree for this job, we better be offering an incentive package.

Anonymous said...

The Sheriff's Office also gives promotional tests.

Anonymous said...

Ya both of my F T O's were fired and j1'd, amazing and not in a good way, at all

Anonymous said...

As I sit in my paid off home by a roaring fire watching the freezing rain fall outside I just wanted to say how thankful I am to be retired from that shit-hole. I feel for those of you still putting on the cheapest polyester uniforms DeKalb could find for you and walking into the dumpy roll call rooms where the animosity is at toxic levels day after crappy day. Just know you too can escape and have a healthy normal life so keep the faith as bad as things are and ALWAYS be safe.

Anonymous said...

Stahis is really a man among men. He has outlasted everyone else and been a great commander. What a hero...

@anon 12:25am I agree....
