The Director of Public Safety position is under the spot light again, which well it should be. Commissioner Lee May wants to abolish $427,000. in funding for the position.
Quoted in The Champion News, Miller says “That would be my entire budget,” “That’s our entire office.” Miller went on to say 98 percent of the budget goes to pay the salaries of Miller, an administrative assistant and two aides.
But, according to county spokesman Burke Brennan, Miller’s $150,000 salary is being paid from the E911 account under the police services budget.
So do the math.
And here's the punch line. According to Miller, “I can’t think of anything negative I have brought to the county,” “Everything is positive. Nothing is negative. It’s surprising that this would come out".
