Vernon Jones Fighting Grand Jury Subpoena

A special grand jury has issued a subpoena for Vernon Jones as it investigates, gasp, corruption in the water and sewer department. Arrogant Jones wants assurances that he is not the target of a criminal investigation.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will District Attorney Robert James send the Sheriff for Jones, or let him slide?

Sadly this is not a federal grand jury and Jones really shouldn't be that afraid. It's only Robert James after all.

It's pretty obvious Vernon has something to hide, or he wouldn't be concerned at all. If he didn't do anything wrong, he shouldn't have anything to worry about! He gets a subpoena and his first thought is "I'm a target" not "I'm a witness!" That says a lot! Thanks, Vernon, for confirming what we've all known about you for years!

I think Vernon is also concerned the Grand Jury might ask something outside the water and sewer department corruption....are they limited to water and sewer?...or can they follow the trail of corruption where it leads them?

Too bad it isnt a federal grand jury, he might actually go to prison.

I wish it was Federal too, because he would be facing a lot more time, but I would pay money to be the Dekalb Officer who gets to slap handcuffs on Vernon and perp walk him into the Dekalb County Jail. Maybe we could raise money for a charity by auctioning off the privilege to handcuff Vernon. Shall we start the bidding at $500!

He won't show up and the subpoena will not be enforced. Typical superior court. But we get suspended if we don't show up when the DA's office calls us 10 minutes before a case goes. Even though we were never received a subpoena.

If Vernon Jones is such an honest individual, then why is he worried about a Grand Jury subpoena? What is he hiding that he doesn't want anyone to find out?

This is very simple. Once a crook, always a crook. Just because he is a little older now, doesn't mean that he cleaned up his act. His laundry is still very much dirty and when a person washes dirty laundy with dirty water, the end result is dirty laundry.

So quit trying to make Mr. Veron Jones a new and polished, clean individual because now, he is nothing more than an older crook in a newer suit with the same crooked ambitions on his agenda.

Verrn is ascarit of Robert James because the current DA actually has some balls-unlike Gwen Keyes who just covered up Vernell's messes
