RIP ANDY

I left in '01, did things ever get better there?

Whats up with the capt at east is she getting arrested or not?

Anonymous said...

If you want to know how little the county cares about its police officers. Just ask the men and woman at east.

Anonymous said...

According to the news the Capt at east has a hearing coming up in a few weeks to determine if a felony warrant should be issued for her arrest. Everyone else in her household has already been arrested. Some of them have been arrested more than once.
And in other news I understand that they are sending Capt Porter to east. This will be her third precinct in just a few months?

So if you are an officer at east and you have a complaint against you, it will go up to one of these two Capts? One of the Capts recently was transferred because she called her fellow Capt the “N” word. The other Capt is facing a felony arrest warrant. This is what passes for leadership in DKPD? I am supposed to have confidence in this? And the Chiefs continue to wonder why we have such horrible discipline problems with the line level officers. If we line level officers have to answer to this type of “Command Leadership” do not expect it to get better.

What Captain is everyone referring to out at east pct and for what?..... (Sorry, cant keep up with all the law breaking going on around here)

Also, the board of crooks are having an "emergency budget meeting" scheduled for next week. Rumor has it that all departments need to cut another 5% from their budgets.

To be a city or not to be a city: The vote in Brookhaven is coming up at the end of the month. In a time of high government dissatisfaction, I give the city vote a 50-50 chance.

I tell you this boys and girls, If Brookhaven does become a city, the BOC will have a "Super Emergency Budget Meeting" and shit is gonna really hit the fan for us.

God Speed

Hey East Morning Watch, could you please give radio a break and keep 411M off the radio!!! 10-30 Traffic!!!!

Geez, you all talk about Wiz being an awful speaker? Did you see Captain "Ebonics " Newton attempting to explain the chase from this morning on channel 2?!?! It was so bad that the news anchor said "let me explain the scenario for you a little better than "that" Officer".....LOL. Newton you are such a little punk ass! Learn to speak proper english or let someone that does speak for you!

What those Cpt did or what one faces don't have anything to do with me. Therefore, the fact that they will be running a precinct want have any bearing on the way I do my job. Yall are so stuck on bashing dkpd its pathetic. If its dat sickening and ur still here get da hell on. If u no longer work here then what's ur concern. Move on and quit being concerned with dkpd. Why are you continuously looking back and feeling da need to blog on dkpd blog if you are so happy at your current location. Give it a break! Whether ur hating or not dkpd ain't going no where. All this bashing ain't paying my bills or taking care of my bills, so if you think for a moment your dislike for the department will rub off on grown ups, who know what side their bread and butter is on you got another thing coming. GEESH!

HAaaaaa Anon 12:07 that was too funny. I think he was nervous and was trying too hard to soud intelligent. Its a lesson for all, when you do an interview talk normal and don't use words you don't use everyday. If you wanna talk about something let's talk about how nothing has changed since Bolton left, just a different set of CLOWNS and I do mean CLOWNS. Who the hell came up with the idea to send the Gang Unit on every homicide? Every department has been asked to trim its budget by five percent or more. Let me give the IDIOT who made this decision an IDEA. If the Major Felony Detective determines it just might be gang related you call the Gang Unit. The way this thing is looking a lot of overtime is about to be paid out and the only thing you have todo is use just a tid bit of common sense. Ohh that's not common around here.

Not saying that one post was "Spanky", but if it was and you know its him,, why would you bust him out.... Heard he loving it in Mcdonough.. There is life and a much better life i must say,,after Dekalb P.D.

I'm surprised our BOC hasn't suggested cutting our salaries to minimum wage as well. After all, officers that still remain will obviously take all their other abuses without mustering a word in defiance.

The FOP put out a notice on the Pension Board Meeting for this morning. I was in physical therapy and could not make it.

Any news on the home front?

People who don't live in Dunwoody have convinced themselves Dunwoody residents were better off before they incorporated, but no matter how hard they try, they can't seem to convince the Dunwoody residents of that.

12 hour shift is off the table.

Anonymous said...

12 hour shift off the table? ... what's the scoop?....

Did they figure our we don't have enough patrol cars?.....

Did they figure out we need our part times to help make up for taking home less every year?

What's up?

julio said...

But the 5-2 is on the table good bye 4-3 Burrell what else are you putting off waiting on the election? I guess furlow days and increase in pension will come out on Aug 1

Anonymous said...

When are they switching to 5 on 2 off?!?!

Anonymous said...

5-2 is being discussed. It will increase manpower on each watch. Running 5 or 6 cars is not safe. Officer safety issue. Can't bring in those stats when all we are doing is humping calls. It will be last resort. No one wants to do away with 4-3. Will cause more to leave then we are worse off than before. Might not matter depending on upcoming votes. County already in dire straights with budget.

Anonymous said...

5-2 will increase the numbers on the street in the short term. It will hurt morale, more people will quit, and we will be right back where we started.

Anonymous said...

The 5-2 plan is none other than Chief Holmes....He has never liked the 4-3 and every opportunity he has gotten has been to eliminate it. If you don't believe what I'm saying then ask anyone that was working in SOD back when he took over a few years back...the first thing he did was eliminated the 4-3 for them and put them all back onto a 5-2 work schedule...then the very day he left SOD they went back to a 4-3 ...

Now that's a FACT!!!!

PatsQB said...

You guys should throw support to the 12hr shifts instead of the 5-2. It provides more manpower and if implemented correctly you never work more than 3 days in a row even on the long week. Plus every other weekend is a three day weekend.

Concealed Carry for Law Enforcement.

In light of recent events, I sent the below to each of my government representatives and urge everyone to do the same...

Congressman/Senator/Governor etc,

I'm writing to you today as a sworn law enforcement officer in the State of Georgia. I am currently a ___(fill in blank)___ with the Dekalb County Police Department and have been there for over ___(fill in blank)___ years.

I would like to ask you to consider sponsoring and championing a bill that would expand the ability of sworn law enforcement officer and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed weapons.

When having lunch with my children at school, eating dinner in restaurants that have policies against concealed carry or visiting other locations with policies against concealed carry (see the policy in place at the Aurora movie theater), I am forced to disarm and leave my weapon in the vehicle or at home.

I would like to ask you to give me the ability to carry out my sworn oath to serve and protect by exempting officers and retired officers from bans in those types of places. Please thoughtfully consider my request.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance in this matter.

Sincerely

_______(Insert name)____

To Anon 10:23 07/24/12:

Are you serious? You want government to dictate to private businesses whether they can allow firearms on their property or not? If a particular businesses doesn't want a firearm on their property, then don't do business with them! Good God man! Government is not the answer to all your problems. It's called FREEDOM of choice!

Anonymous said...

To : July 24, 2012 10:23 AM. What are you an idiot??? Juat carry it any way...

Anonymous said...

Private businesses have the right to say they don't want guns on their property. But if you are active duty or retired pd and are certified by your former employer, you can carry concealed just about anywhere. Read up on the Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2004. Here's a tip. If you're eligible to carry concealed and are carrying concealed, how will they know? Doesn't advertising that you are carrying concealed defeat the whole purpose of carrying concealed? If you're legally allowed to, carry concealed and keep quiet about it.
