F.O.P. Makes It Easier To Join

The F.O.P. has announced easier methods of joining. Now you don't have to come up with the full annual dues in one lump some ($105.00 active members, $65.00 retirees). You can simply have the fees deducted from your checking/savings account at $9.50 per month. That's only 33 cents per day! You'll never miss it!

With the many changes coming in the future with the new city of Brookhaven and the possibility of Chamblee annexing more of the county, we need to be more organized and with numbers.

If for no other reason, then think of your family and the insurance benefits available, and the optional Legal Defense Plan

Click here for the F.O.P. webpage and follow the links for the proper forms, and mail it to: DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police, 1238 Ridge Ave, Stone Mountain, GA 30083.

Strength in numbers.

It's just a matter of time before S.O. takes complete control. DKPD will be nonexistent obviously as has been the case in many similar scenarios. Sad it's become an empty shell of its once great former self.

I want to know what the FOP is going to do for us? What happened to the big eyeball on the pension?

It appears a ton of the good officers we lost in the last couple of years due to the horse shit of Dekalb will be making an effort to create a vibrant Brookhaven PD. Godspeed...

Dear Anonymous,

Attend our monthly meetings. They're held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Lodge in Stone Mountain. There, you will learn what the FOP will do for you AND what YOU can do.

A pension watchdog committee has been formed headed by J.R. Gardner. He and the committee are staying on top of the happenings. You can find out more... at a meeting.

So, like the PBA, I join and you (can) do nothing. Whatever.

F.O.P. needs some teeth, when they buy some dentures, I will join.

You should have the PBA or FOP for the insurance purposes. Just being a member give you a $10.000 life insurace policy. You should also have the legal defense, if any Dept attempts to screw you and they are in the wrong, you will be protected...... Was suspended for three days while working for DeKalb and FOP legal defense, helped me and took care of me.... Just look into the way you will be reprsented legally.... Just saying.... It's was the worth $365 a year, I have spent during my 20 year career.....Its gives you a peice of mind and I never have any fears of being sued either.... If I am sued and my Dept doent have my back the FOP does...." M Gone and Happy"

I have been to the meetings and have been told different things. DeKalb will loose good officers to Brookhaven and our great BOC will shove a pension increase right up our backside and nobody will do anything about it. Mr. Miller will be our new Chief once O'Brien retires and another major change at the top will come. Face it nobody will stand up to the corruption that is happening in the Department or when then try that person gets promoted and becomes part of the problem they told everyone to trust them and they would fight for us. It has become a said day for officers and now that Brookhaven has become a city be prepared for more reaming and change that will just make us more depressed. May God help us all and give us strength to handle what is coming.

You guys know I am not a cop, but I worked with you guys for so long and got to be friends with quiet a few of you, that I visited the FOP during the last open-house and was gratified to meet some old friends and make some new ones. Personally I like the orginization and feel that Jeff Wiggs has gone far above the call of duty to support you guys for the last decade. Do the commissioners listen to Jeff? Yes, but they never follow his recommendations, but time and time again I have seen Jeff in front of the BOC publically airing your gripes. That's a lot more than anyone else is doing.
I find it difficult to understand why our five union loving Democrat commissioners refuse to sit down with the FOP and discuss the issues facing the DeKalb officers. Elaine Boyer will, and the Republicans are not known for being union lovers. DeKalb Democrats, you just have to love the hypocracy and their total BS.
I strongly suspect the five Democrats will not sit down with you guys is that they despise everything you guys stand for; Duty, honor and commitment.
a concept that is foreign to most Democrats.
Best of luck guys and gals!

Ken, the Republican(s) on the BOC are RINOs anyway. The majority of the voting citizens of DeKalb obviously don't care what happens to the county or whether the DeKalb County government is corrupt. And they could care less about the police department.

Why do I say this ? Because they keep reelecting the same retards EVERY time. When is this inexcusable madness going to stop ?! We will be absorbed into the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office sooner than we all think……

Corrupt Dekalb WANTS a smaller more controllable PD to do its bidding. As everyone has stated minimal maintenance funding is all the police get here if that. DKPD will not be taken seriously in our lifetime. Cut your losses guys and get in a professional law enforcement environment if you care at all about your career.
