Seriously? The Lieutenant On Up Knew Nothing?

Sorry folks, we are just not buying it. There is no way the chain of command knew nothing of this.

Commissioner, you may think that apologizing for your actions exonerates you, and you may think that you can hide behind your "church", but there is no doubt that you think your position gives you the right to act like an ass. As a citizen, I am offended that you tied up valuable police resources because you think you're "special". Well, you're not. If you are voted in again, it will prove the lack of intelligence of voters in your district. Ugh.

Sickening. Watson has 30 years of government checks, I mean service. Don't worry this and all the other inexcuseable crap will be swept under the rug as usual. What other county besides Fulton could this piece of crap get away with this, much less stay in public office. How could anyone question the motives of anyone cutting ties with DeKalb? I love how Watson was wearing his DeKalb shirt and making threats. Glad his office will get part of the 3% B.O.C. raise. Just close the department down and put it out of its misery. Damn.

Is there really any point in commenting ?

Anyone want to guess who the A/C he kept referring was going to drive him gome

The buck stops with the sergeant, bad call on his part. That's one you send up the food chain asap, lt,capt, major..............but to let him drive, bad call period.

Everyone knows what happened here and at the end of the day the citizens who vote in this county DON'T CARE. Politics and the police department shouldn't mix but for those of working here we know that isn't the case.

Everyone thought it was a great idea to remove the merit protection of the chief after Bolton, how's that working out for you now? The chief should be either merit protected or work under contract.

Also, where's the Director on this one? Hell the chief can't move a PO-1 from one precinct to another without his approval yet Chief O gets the camera in his face when something like this happens. Funny how you only see them when it's something good.

It's a damn shame the sergeant didn't put him jail. To all you sergeants out there; you don't have to ask for permission to arrest someone, if there is pc, then make the arrest. Check your manual, only officers have to clear with a supervisor. Do your notification AFTER the arrest. Sure it's tough to do the right thing but when you're right you're right. As long as you didn't violate a policy aint a dang thang they can do about it. That's why you have merit protection.

The public got a glimpse from stan watson of the management style of DeKalb Govt and its departments towards many of its employees, in this case, its Police Officers. The elitist attitude, the constant reminding of position of power, and, of course, the threats and intimidation.

This commissioner wears a Dekalb commissioner shirt to a bar (loser!), gets drunk, disorderly, accusatory toward innocent people about a theft that didn't happen, threatens a business some officers and a sergeant, and then drives off drunk.

It appears that the officers and sergeant are cleared from IA. This just goes to show you boys and girls how covering yourselves with reports, witness statements, and videos can save your ass. Don't be lazy.... Some knucklehead like stan watson could come along acting like a fool, make a complaint or accusation on you, and now your the one on the defensive that may end up being the one who pays the price. The dept had no choice but to stand behind its officers this time because the evidence was there, especially on tape. Good job Sergeant on having that recorder out during this incident.

And guess what the great citizins who voted him in office will do nothing.
He will simply be voted in again, why because the great citizins are idiots themselves.

Not on this subject. But those of you that are taking the promotion test....By doing so you are telling the BOC, and CEO that you are ok with his 5% raise policy...Sorry but I think a promotion is worth more than that..Is to me at least..Just saying.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1121, I agree with you. I am eligable to take the Lt's test but refuse to for the 5% raise, so for those of you that do. Well ur as much a part of the problem than the solution.

What until Oct and there is NO ONE fighting battles for you behind closed doors. The inmates will TRULY be running the asylum. SO glad I'm not subject to these idiots any longer.

Hell yeah, Stan's going to get re-elected. He'll even become CEO in 2016. Those who say the citizens don't care, yep that's true. Also the police don't care. Not one officer did the right thing. Not this time and not with Sutton. Most folks don't care and just want to cover their ass. No courage round these parts. Chief? Director? Major? Lieutenant? Sergeant? Officer? Solicitor?

Look the other way. Keep your head down. Hold on til retirement. That's now The DeKalb Way.

Stan Watson denied driving on the news. Video proves he lied. He needs to resign.

Well, let me grab a Dekalb Commissioners shirt and reign havoc in Dekalb County now. It must be great to have such privileges. An Assistant Chief to drive home a Commissioner?? Really! Fulton came under fire years ago when their PD was being used as a driving service for Commissioners. One commissioner used to have FCPD pick her up for rides to and from the airport. Mind you, she lived up north, you can imagine the gas and time away for the officer.

Initially, I was against Merit Protection as I thought it gave undue protection for the wicked. Now, I guess O'Brien is afraid to lock up one of the bosses. Four police officers and upper brass on the scene and no arrest. Looks like its time to protest DKPD!

At this point, I am going to need counseling.

Will the BOC offer a reprimand; probably not. Will the DeKalb delgation or even the state legislature offer a comment; probably not. Will the CEO or even the governor utter a word; probably not. I doubt a mayor or even a city councilman of one of the county's cities will offer a comment; why becasue they're all politicians and they probably empathize with Stan. The officers dealing with Stan did the best they could with the info and situation they had. Officers best of luck to you and always lock these politicians up when you have the probable cause!! That video is great and captures the true sentiments of politicians. Carry on officers, I'm proud of you.

Ethics, what that be?

I assure you Watson didn't apologize to his church etc until he was notified there was video of the incident. Deny and lie until you're caught red handed, the Dekalb thug way. Pathetic...

Retired & Damn Glad said...

Stan Watson = PERP!!! Just like the rest of them! Hey Stan, you like to invoke your church, and your faith??? I wonder what your church and your pastor would say about the language that the media saw fit to bleep out!!! YOU ARE A PERP & A THUG!!! Parker, I understand why you did what you did. I have been there back in the day when we used to catch (a then Deputy Chief on Buford hwy) driving his county car home from the Knights of Columbus DRUNK AS HELL... We were made to take him home and the Sergeant or Lieutenant would park his/her unit in a p/l and drive his car home. Until you other "claim to know folks" have been in those shoes..... The pressure is a hell of alot more than you want to throw your supervisors under the bus....

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 7:54..Parker told him not to drive, did you not see and HEAR that in the recording? Parker covered himself when he turned his recording on..FYI folks please keep your cameras's on you at ALL TIMES regardless if you DON'T think you will need them, this just goes to show shit will and can hit the fan at any second. On another note , I thought we couldn't DRINK while wearing a shirt w/ the county emblem on it?

I guess the same seargent, major and captain gave A.R. Robinson and Buckner to solicit the prostitute also. Dekalb is a disgrace.

Finally a story I can point too and tell the wife...this is why I didn't seek a promotion any higher than I wanted. I would pray for you guys but I believe you are already in Hell.

The same crap happened under Bobby Burgess...just ask Capt. Peacock about the W.D.Corn case...that's just spooky and evil. Then there was that County Atty that supposedly killed himself under Moody...no one allowed there from crime scene until half a dozen people came to "look" at the scene. Burgess, Moody, Graham, TeBo...and now, poor Bill. But - I forget the 1st prize winner - Dick Hand. Some allowed that he was a good administrator - but, Lord have mercy...that man loved to fraternize with the female help. If the rank and file are too scared to make tough decisions...it's because the higher-ups are too scared as well. Now, it's just a matter of not getting killed....

Anonymous said...

He loved to "fraternize with the female help" and his name is "Dick Hand" ?? LOL - sorry, that's just too funny.

Keith Martin and His dad Fire Chief Dudley P Martin both very good men, Chief O I now have a new much lower opinion of you. God help the DKPD.

And we all wonder why more and more cities are incorporating and forming their own PD's.

Dekalb PD will become smaller and smaller as the years go on...and for good reason.

I would love a drunk commissioner to cruise through Dunwoody or Brookhaven when they are up and running.

to Anon 8:08

The citizens of this county DO CARE! And they are voting to form their own cities and own PD's. At least the ones who pay the vast majority of the taxes.

They are punching people like Stan right in the mouth. It may be slow and painful but its the only option the people who foot the bill have against the brain dead mass of voters.

This is a textbook example of a lack of leadership. You have a Sergeant, Lieutenant, a Major, and a Chief all without the courage to do the honorable thing. They fear controversy and political retribution so they make themselves liars and show themselves for cowards.
