Though often controversial Lt. Daniels was always a hard hitter when it came to catching perps which is what it's all about. He had no problem chasing one down until the day he retired. There's something to be said for a mandatory 20 year retirement in this career/military service, etc. as the risk increases exponentially as you age. RIP Lt., you were a cop's cop.

Prayers to Elgin's family, I enjoyed working South Precinct C.I.D. under him. He was a quiet man but always was there to listen when someone had a problem. Henry County we feel your loss too. God Bless.

It is so difficult to understand any death but this one seems senseless. Lt Daniels died performing his duties and will be sorely missed. All of us who ever worked with man know he was truly one of the good ones. My prayers go to all of his family and friends. Rest in peace Lt.

Ther are no words that can truly explain the loss that is felt when a brother or sister officer is killed. Elgin was a cops cop. He was always nice and never failed to give you assistance in anything you asked of him. I thoroughly enjoyed the times we worked together. Prayers for his family and his friends. RIP Elgin. I'm sure he has already been welcomed by Charlie Nelson, JW, Combee and all the others that are now patrolling on the other side. Rest easy my friend. You will be missed....
