Since the story broke of Burrell Ellis' corruption, he has been provided personal protection at his residence by our police department.
Our lustrous leaders claimed the protection was needed because of traffic flow problems. After 40 days, you would think traffic engineering would have figured a fix to this traffic dilemma.
In the meantime, a new chief has been hired. Shouldn't he have already put a stop to wasting the taxpayers money? Oh wait, Cedric was hired by Ellis.
And the beat goes on.

Word is that SOD guys are getting paid O/T for working it also. Tucker Uniform still gets stuck sitting on it weekends though. GO DKPD!!!!
Don't forget about the two officers assigned to watch/drive him around all week long.
Maybe April Hunt with the AJC will look into this for us. She seems to be right on top of things and judging from her articles, it doesn't look like she is going to let up anytime soon. Let's hope not!
To 7:22 pm we all know that SOD has to be free on weekends to work their part-time. What good would a take home car be if you aren't available on the weekend?
Let's look at the bright side of things!
Whenever an officer is accused of something serious (or even not so serious), whether it's administrative charges or criminal, the brass/County Gov't always allows them to continue working, never suspends them without pay and has never fired people for less than what Mr. Magoo Ellis has been involved in.
Because if I'm wrong, that would mean they are some kind of sick, unfair, twisted, immoral, courage lacking, unethical, integrity challenged hypocrites of the highest order who don't belong in office and they should STOP DOING IT TO US immediately and get on their knees to beg us for forgiveness.
Just so you know, the new Police Chief does not start work until April 1. AS of right now, he is still employed by TSA - I'm just sayin'.

One of DKPD's biggest problems is lack of technology being utilized. Surrounding agencies have light pole cameras being monitored, real time updates for officers enroute to calls via Skype type technology matching the complainant to their unit, etc. Dekalb JUST NOW began utilizing officer worn cameras where other agencies have been uploading the digital video recording of calls as part of the incident report for years now. Without it you have almost zero credibility in todays modern society.
Anybody tried to use the new ACE property room computer? That freezes up? There is 1 computer & 1 printer for 1000 officers to use-WTF? Who the hell thought up that bright idea? Ohyeah, if the computer breaks (it already has, several times) wait for that phone call from the property room telling you to come in on your off time to enter the stuff once the computer is workking again. Unbelievable! No class given on how to work the system..no consideration for the beat cop. Wow, once again, officers are being pimped out to make some wanker in a specialized unit's job easier. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Thanks a lot. Maybe officers would stop leaving if you jokers in your ivory tower would stop thinking up absurd ways to waste our time, based on some crap that some fool who hasnt worked the streets ever tells you is a "great idea".

Security @ the Comm's crib? What poss enemies could that guy have, besides us? He's not exactly on any of our christmas card lists, but he is still safe. No telling who's turn it's going to be the commisioner ,next go around . I think they should go and and find a dog and pony act. At least it would be entertaining to watch ! That guy is his own worst enemy. Bet he's got J-Tom on speed dial ! Guess they still got that absurd EXECUTIVE PROTECTION DETAIL for him too. I asked someone once re; that "perp preacher" down in east precinct, "If this guy is in so tight with God, like he says -- then why does he need all of this security "? Makes sense now, though. I didn't know about all the poor victims. Uhh, to say the least, I was put 10-8 with a quickness ! Just saying, yo ? This place reminds me of the movie/-The Wizard Of Oz. Think about it. We've got all the main characters: Oz/the new Chief, Dorothy/the Dep Chiefs,Tinman/ I.A.,Cowardly lion/any rank scared supervisor,Strawman/all the ass-kissers,the Wicked Witch of the West & her flying monkeys/the court systems,and the perp's.
