Congratulations to all who were promoted and good luck to everyone in their new assignments.

The blue order.....

It doesn't mention demotions from major to captain.... are they all taking their rank with them?

There was scuttlebutt about a BIG blue order....wonder if this is the first of two today.

Loving it so far...

The lieutenants are next, send them back to uniform!

Here we go again Major White assigned to another position he's never worked ! He wont last long to much like work for him.

Anonymous said...

OMG, Harris, Voss and Clere all in the same unit. Good luck SOD!

He's cute ain't he? Only problem is, he's got a little bit a Mississippi leg hound in him. If the mood catches him right, he'll grab your leg and just go to town. You don't want him around if you're wearing short pants, if you know what I mean. Word of warning though, if he does lay into ya, it's best to just let him finish.

Anon 7:40

What are they suppose to do with people like White, Conroy, Anderson and many others? The fact is that if you assign them to anything that is not hanging around HQ f***ing off then you will be assigning them to a position they have never worked.

Anonymous said...

Good luck SOD? More like good luck Harris. He needs to clean house down there. Make those guys and gals in motors/stepp work for a change.

Anonymous said...

Looks like full 10 hour shifts maybe in the making. It's really not that hard guys just remember that when you think it is time to go home you only have 5 more hours to go. You also don't have to stop being a police officer just because your sheet is full for the day. Maybe Harris needs to have roll call at the end of the shifts if you know what I mean.

How do you think Harris got where he is ? OLD BOSS/NEW BOSS/SAME BOSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When's the last time you saw a "tac guy" handle a wreck, write a report,or even voluntarily show up to "79" at a 41-I/49 ,32's,all major incidents, back you on a bad call , whatever ? If the "old school motormen" didn,t clear/1076 , radio automatically assigned them, then the old Tac Sgt "59-ed and chewed that ass out/big time !
"NEW TAC/NEW ATTITUDE" . Happens when you don't put "real experienced road police with real experienced road Sgt's" in there to begin with . POLICE FIRST, S.O.D., C.I.D , SECOND !!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Guys..you can pull my P.O. Sheet any day of the week...I'm in S.O.D. and I work 10 hrs. a day....until you work my shift...becareful what you say....any day you want to go head to head....or productivity head to head...you just let me know when and where.......and I've been there more than just a day or two...

Signed.....

Sorry Old School, you'll have no takers because those spouting their hate either don't have the ability to get to a specialized unit or...well I guess that's it isn't it? Those who cast aspersions have never walked in your shoes and there is a reason they haven't. Jealousy is an ugly thing. Do your job, stop complaining and good things will happen.

Anonymous said...

Old School,

If you're going to say we can pull up your p.o. sheet, it would be helpful to provide us with a badge or employee id number! That's how PATS works. Careful though, I've looked at Special Ops' numbers, and I don't see anything to brag about.

Anonymous said...

"POLICE FIRST, S.O.D., C.I.D , SECOND !!!!!!!!!!!!"

Do you even work here? Are SOD and CID not police? CID reads and investigates and then goes to court on all of those reports uniform writes. Ever written any of those? SOD comprises a bunch of units, not just motors. While I don't necessarily agree with the way those units are always utilized (TRT on ticket writing specials etc), they're all performing different functions. Sitting around pointing at other units is not going to make anything better. If you don't like what you're doing try to transfer or quit.

I have to say, the new chief is making some good moves. The people in spots with take home cars that do absolutely nothing, are not on call, but were friends with the right people just lost their cars.

Uniform is about to get another 25 officers, then another 25 when the academy graduates.

The only problem is that in the next few months 20 will leave and go other places where departments appreciate good employees.

We are in need of a good 5 percent raise, with a promise of a 2 or 3 percent raise in early 2014.

Chief - you need to fight for our money. No raises in six or seven years. That is unheard of!!! Keep the good officers here, and make this a place where good people want to start careers in law enforcement!!

Anonymous said...

To 6:42pm not saying that it is all you guys, there are some workers but we know what the majority of TAC is doing. Getting their quota and hiding for remainder of shift.

re; 4/9 2:37 . Easy big fellow! I didn't suggest that S.O.D. or C.I.D. , are not police . I'm just saying don't forget where you came from---- the road . Pause and think about the "road police" who are out there 24/7--365 , all kinds of weather , and most of the holidays . They are the backbone of every dept . BUT, A GRUNT CAN TAKE IT. A GRUNT CAN TAKE ANYTHING . Yes , I worked there for a little while---just 30 years .

Time to jump ship get out why you can before being layed off if u have not read the news from AJC talk of new cities fighting over boundaries get ready cause Dekalb is about to be like Fulton and that means if three new cities form then most likely that will reduce revenue and lay off of officers.

Hey did you guy's hire Bolton back?

Anonymous said...

ESTO ESTA BUENO.......

Anonymous said...

Hey anon12:01, no. Did you take an English class?

Anonymous said...

Well I was impressed with meeting the new chief and what he had to say. I was actually looking forward to seeing what kind of changes he was going to make and hopefully get rid of some garbage in the higher ranks. Then he goes and demotes chief gassner now I have lost all respect and hope. If you think for one minute that people like Holmes, williams, white and Horner are more qualified than her then you are crazy. I guess all your degrees came from an online school for the dumb.how in the hell can this place survive with idiots running it. I give up.

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:29

You are mad at Chief Alexander because he demoted someone you like? I think you are worrying about the wrong thing.I'm more concerned about the line officers than what happens to anybody in the command staff. What has any of them ever really done since being in appointed positions to be proud of? I don't care if he demotes every assist. chief in the department.

Anonymous said...

Gassner asked to be a Captain.

Does that make the Chief stupid, or you. I'll give you a hint, it's you.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I agree with what Anon 3:29 says. Just like Wiz Miller forced Chief O'Brien to retire early Holmes, Horner and Williams at the least should pack their things and move to Florida. DeKalb County needs a fresh start not the same old attitudes still in positions to run this Department.

Anonymous said...

Wait, Gassner asked to be demoted? How do you know that information?

Sorry if I don't believe you but I don't!

Anonymous said...

Ok so let me get this straight, Gassner wanted to be demoted so she could work for the biggest asshole in the department major white. No I don't think so...

Anonymous said...

I spoke to Chief Gassner and she did not ask to be demoted.

Anonymous said...

Yeah right, Gassner "asked" to get demoted and take a pay cut. 2:28 how does the new chief's ass taste? 3:29, no I'm not mad that he demoted an assistant chief, it doesn't change anything for me. I just think the new guys an idiot for demoting the one chief that has never been tied to a scandal.

Anonymous said...

It's true whether you believe it or not. Ask around, you'll see.

Anonymous said...

If you asked Gassner then why are all of her friends saying she didn't want to be a Chief anymore? Sorry, I don't believe you.

Anonymous said...

Anon 7:50, she didn't want the actual Chief position, that's why she served as the interim. The demotion is a whole different story.

Anonymous said...

Chief Gassner: Excuse me sir, I would like a demotion!

Chief Alexander: No problem, you got it buddy!!!

YEA RIGHT!!!

For Old Warhorse,
I specifically remember mutilple tac units handling (not just helping) a pretty bad 41i on Glenwood not too long ago. They showed up before I did on the call and offered to take it over. Lets give credit where credit is due.

Anonymous said...

I hear people are getting transferred back to uniform from cid and special ops. Where is the blue order for this?

old warhorse4 said...

re;April 16, 11:26. Thank you. SOMEBODY HAS FINALLY SAID SOMETHING. GOOD ABOUT SOME OF THE TAC GUYS! Some of them still "police", in spite of their supervisors demands for outrageous ticket numbers . Hey, some of the old motormen were lazy as hell too. Who do you think got their ass chewed out, to no avail. Sorry/lazy, right up until they retired . That's where the bad rep started, years ago. Credit given,m where credit is obviously due! Good lick !

Anonymous said...

Not just the motor units in TAC. The ones who are just making their numbers and going on personal time for remainder of shift. Only patrolling in your favorite little area or where your hangouts are.

Anonymous said...

Was that a misprint or is there a Major with a badge number 2700?

Anonymous said...

yes we have a Major with a 2700 badge number, came from APD from Bolton

Anonymous said...

The 2700 badge number Major. I don't know what bothers me most about her. Is it that she doesn't deserve to be here, or that she had no loyalty to the person who hired her unqualified ass? It's pretty well known she only has a job here because she flipped on Bolton. Her only qualification for being here is disloyalty. Bolton needed to go, but do does she, right along with Mekka Parish.

old war horse said...

re:5/4--12:49. #2700, #27 million,it doesn't matter anymore. The rank structure here is a joke, and has pretty much alway's been a joke. Just throw her in the sh*t pile with the rest of them. She is just one more of the many "empty uniform's" that allegedly "work" here! That piece of shit Sidney Dorsey couldn't even carry a weapon b/c of his "FELONY" criminal history, but this ignorant voting public "welcomed him in with open arms".(and you remember what happened, because of that)! Don't worry about 2700. AT ONE TIME IT WAS LEAD,FOLLOW OR GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY(but there have alway's been people that make thing's happen, there are people who stop thing's from happening, and there are people that stand around and wonder "what in the hell just happened)? WHERE ARE THEY? WHICH WAY DID THEY GO? I MUST FIND THEM! I AM THEIR LEADER!!!!

Anonymous said...

Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way.... today, it is lead at your own peril... if you have rank and don't wear a white shirt you learn quickly to lay low and CYA....whatever happens, you can only count on your officers the white shirt if they want to take credit.

Why would you put your LE career at risk with POST, etc by working in such a volatile environment?
