Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss

Lee May all of a sudden finds it necessary for a security detail, so he takes over Burrell's.

That power kick didn't take long.

The madness continues.

I think they need to put the ILP Supreme Commander in Charge of the security detail. Then they can hold their Logistics meetings 3 times a day and snuff out all of the threats...then they can all walk around talking into their sleeve mics and listening thru their earpieces.

Here we go with the same old pot of soup just need a little heating up.

Hey Interim-CEO,
Can you roll-over on these corrupt department heads? Or not because they are your friends? If not, your going down as well. What better way you can make a name for yourself?

Speaking of bosses. What's up with all the demotions then the promotion, and demotions of the same people. How does it all work one day you are a Major, or Asst. Chief, next day your a Capt. Then two weeks later a Major again?? What happens you make Major stop kissing ass. Get knocked back down to Capt. start kissing ass again then "poof" Major again? Doesn't ones lips get tired of smelling like ass? Just saying. How will anything change when the same idiots are running the show?

What the hell are these people scared of? They don't need this security force when they are a commissioner but do need it when they are the CEO. What the f**k is the difference? Lee May this was your chance to differentiate yourself from the previous two corrupt administrations. Don't go the way of the last one.

Did your day change after Lee May took over? ... no...you came in ...punched the clock....and did the same as you did before....no difference in your day, your pay check or your pension.

Anon. July 26 12:30 PM Funny but lots of people within the county "in crowd"are wondering the same thing. Do you suppose whomever or whatever Ellis fears will soon be feared by May as well? Is it a coincidence that many of the same names that appear on one's disclosure records also appears on the other one's as well? Oh please! Not the 24/7 detail again!!!

My opinion of this circus is that as soon as Lee May announced that the position of CEO should be abolished...then, all of a sudden, he needs a security detail. This should be a red flag that there are some heavy hitters (no pun intended) that have a vested interest in keeping DeKalb County under the control of a CEO. The corruption didn't start with Ellis, or V Jones, or Levitan....this mess started with the position itself...under Manuel Maloof. Anybody remember the zoning hearings under Maloof that were held @ midnight? For many years - Maloof ran this county even after he left office. It seems the crime syndicate has slowly fallen apart since his death. Oh well....I just wish May had the guts to call out the criminals. That just will never happen....

Did anybody see 20-20 last night? There was an hour expose' on the Dwdy Sniderman homicide. That's right, nation wide coverage. Even though investigated in Dwdy,it made this county look like a bunch of bush league yahoo's. But,when your key witness is an alleged court appointed 22,and everything else is circumstantial,it's pretty much a done deal. It just "aint" against the law to be a lying adulteress! I bet Jimmy Cates is happy as a fat pig in the sunshine!!

Here's your chance WSB. You made sure it hit the news that Mays ended the security detail that cost the taxpayers over 1 million. How about a story on this? What will it cost tax payers to protect Mays? Why does he need it? The citizens need the protection a hell of a lot more than Mays.

@ 7/27 10:56am,
The Citizen's need the protection. Good comment!

Let's see who's the next County employee or department that makes the News. The DA is working his way down to each floor in the Clark Harrison Building. That building is Sodom and Gomorra.

Anonymous said...

What about the recent transfer to support services. I thought the department had to advertise specialized positions.

So did anything new come out of Lee May's meet the CEO meeting... is it worth the effort on Tuesday at 0900?

The big "trial's",start tommorrow. Since the Sniderman case has been reduced to a more or less "lover's spat",I guess she will get double secret probation. Maybe they can convict her "liar, liar, pant's on fire for perjury/false statement's.(did you do it!NAW! O.K. You can go now.) Wonder if DA.James is going to come down with another bout of personal ethical crisis facing the Ellis trial. Hope he doesn't have anymore "I can't win this case",panic attack's. I thought the Grand Jury indicted her,so isn't it his job to prosecute the case and let the jury decide? Guess he was out sick the day they taught law,in law school!

It's great that the FOP again took the lead in informing members and non members of the July pension minutes. I notice that there is nothing on the county web site about it as usual. I thank Alan Blaisdale of the FOP for contacting pension rep Mr. Hendrix about the status of the potential COLA for retirees. If there was any involvement on the COLA by our elected retiree representative who lives in Chicago or someplace up there it is not eveident....as usual.

The DA is busy building up cases against Dekalb County Employees instead of going after Sneidermen for playing a role in her husband murder. Sneidermen will still receive jail time.

Cases in order
1. Burrell
2. Business Licenses
3. Zoning
4. Permits

Thomas Brown is next. What, he's leaving soon. DA James can't indict him after he leaves office, ask Shaft Victor Hill.

Extended security @ Lee May's residence. Hmmmmm? Remember the old saying, "Where there's smoke, there's fire"!!

Anonymous said...

Did you all see Andrew Baker sitting front and center at the employee meeting while Lee May was talking? He got there early to lick-up to Lee May. That Andrew Baker is so pathetic. The DA need to look into Andrew activities.

Andrew never sat front and center when Burrell was the CEO.

So I hear Brookhaven is hiring police officers...

Per Lee Mays appeal for dialogue with the employees and citizens, I have requested a 30 minute phone/personal appointment to discuss the issues facing DeKalb government.
I will be surprised if it happens.
As for the comments on the pension plan.
I called Robbie Robertson and discussed the pension issues. Robbie was present at the pension board retreat and has worked with pension representative James Hendrix to provide a 1 percent COLA increase for the retirees.
The issue is that the county pension fund is only funded to 60 percent and cannot afford a COLA for the retirees.
CEO Lee May attended the retreat and was asked by the pension representatives to address the issue of the drop in percentage of pension contributions by the county from 66 percent to 50 percent, May agreed to bring the issue to the BOC.
Another tidbit of information that developed during the pension retreat was that Joel Gottlieb, finance director, announced the employee pay raise is only in the discussion phase, to be implemented in 2014 at the earliest if approved.
I advise contacting Robbie with any of your questions directly at 404-314-4574 from 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
Best of luck mates!

Why doesn't Robertson communicate with us? WE elected HIM? There wasn't any difference when he was the regular rep back then either.

Atlanta sandy springs Dunwoody all are implementing alarm ordinance, DeKalb has alarm ordinance but chooses not to enforce it.

Sec. 3-9. - Notification and appeal process for assessments.
(a)
The police chief shall have the authority to issue a notice of assessment, hereinafter referred to as the "notice," to alarm system owners, and/or customers of alarm system companies who do not abide by the requirements of section 3-8 of this article. The notice shall briefly describe the facts forming the basis for the assessment, include the date and address of the incident, the amount of the assessment owed, and advise the person of the right to appeal the notice. The notice shall be sent via United States mail to the alarm system owner or customer of an alarm system company at the address on file as provided by this article.

Hey chief why don't u enforce it cause I hear the fines and penalties could actually fund our raises . Considering the amount of false alarms we respond to.

Anonymous said...

Why dosent someone arrest our chief for impersonating an officer. When is he going to be post certified I guess it's just like our county lets look the other way.

Anonymous said...

Time for Robertson to go! Keep changing until we get results. Been on several sig. 10s and 41s this summer and the fire chief shows up with his 12 y.o. kid in the county car. Why are the standards so different. We get written up for every little thing we do but other departments act as if there are no rules.

@August 1, 2013 at 5:46 PM ...DKPD has crafted a new ordinance (alarm registrations & false alarm fees). The commission has yet to adopt it but they love it because it should bring in more money.

Anonymous said...

So Brookhaven knew they were becoming a city....planned ahead and had a police department ready to go when it was time.... how is it that DKPD was caught flat footed and didn't plan ahead....North now has two territories with up to five officers in each....

Why wasn't the CAD system ready....why wasn't a precinct number decided upon ahead of time... why are the powers that be still trying to decide on whether we'll have four or five precincts...

Brookhaven did suddenly happen overnight... if they could use the time to hire and equip a department, why could we plan for their departure!?!?!?

Anonymous said...

There is a plan in place to go to four precincts. Where have you been, living under a rock? Not paying attention in roll call? The Chief can't do it without the permission of the micromanaging board commissioners. Rumor is we're also asking the board fire permission to switch from fine point to medium point pens.

@ 2:45 I think you know the answer to your own question, we ALL do... One group is competent in their work and the other is Dekalb County.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 2:45, because our leaders had there heads sooooo far up their bosses ass, they couldn't see the light of day. Much less see what was happening and see what had to be done. Just saying.

Anonymous said...

@August 3, 2013 at 2:45 AM ...Y,Y,Y..u ask?...I'm asking, no I'm begging; if u r DKPD please think b4 u post....the CAD was reprogrammed 4 them at our cost...the north officers still have plenty to do until the reassignments r made...the # of precincts is a political deceision and when the commissioners decide then the dept can act....if u just want to complain plez drive on down to the tag office and stand in line there......

Anonymous said...

Things were not ready because no one at this god-forsaken place ever plans ahead. Back in the day, you would have been terminated if any of this had not been ready when something major was going to change on a specific date. Does anyone even know how to update the CAD with changes? They have 3 people doing this and not a one of them have any CAD experience.....I say, clean house and hire competent personnel...oh wait? that would make SENSE!!

Brookhaven had 7 arrests in their first 2 days. How many officers do they have on each shift? That's less than one arrest per shift! That's pretty sad! I could get more arrests than that on my own!

Channel 2 report's that Burrel's defense want's to postpone the April 19'th court date. If it is rescheduled after the 31st,he can/will be able to go back in office, and resume his duties! That will give the D.A.the dry heaves for sure !!

Anonymous said...

Burrel's defense was the one that wanted a quick trial date. If your client is guilty you have to find every diversion in the book. Hey burrel your office and floor ( for that fact ) has been cleaned out and not a damn soul misses you! The quicker you get this over the quicker you can get that protection that so much think you need. That big boy in the cell with you will keep you safe and warm.

To Aug. 4 @ 1:27pm You want to know what wasn't sad about those arrest, I will tell you. Each officer that made one of those arrest did so in a brand new car that was not worn out. They did it while making more money than you, They did it while not being raped to pay for health insurance. They did it for a city government that appreciates them. They did it for a community that puts their needs and well being above their own and treats them like public servants or Heros! After their shift they drove their new car to their home and did not have to buy gas while doing so. So mister I can make that many arrests are you just mad because Brookhaven didn't call you or are you one of our brass who kissed ass to the very politicians that caused us to lose this are in the first place? Go back into hiding and see where your arrest have gotten you in ten years.

old warhorse said...

The bad part about being sad and mad is that you take it out on everybody around you. More especially re; sucessful people that make intelligent decisions about their careers and future. All that decided to go to other dept's,saw the hand writing on the wall, and left before they became trapped here because of time in service or age. Sad,but true.I wish them the best of luck where-ever they go. You can bet your ass that these new cities do not hire everybody else's "shit birds"like this county does. But,rest assured,if they were malcontents here, they will be malcontents there.(just give them enough time). I know retired officers from here that are still bitter and bad mouthing this dept, years after they retired, and are still doing it. As usual, they all badmouth me behind my back because I'm quick to tell them that this place was pretty good to me and my family, regardless. I get a good,30 year retirement every month. You could win the gazillion dollar lottery, and be around them for 5 minutes, and want to hang yourself!! If you can hang, stay here and do a good job,if not,go. It's funny though. The biggest complainers always talk about how much they hate this place, and their job,but never leave. I knew a officer here that pissed and moaned, and was guitting everyday for 25 years. The only reason he left then was because he had a bad heart problem and was forced into a medical retirement.(I bet he is still bitching). I used to ask him, "Damn, dont you ever have a good day? No? Well take your ass over there and stand. This shit's bad enough as it is"! Doh, one less "alleged" friend !!! Hang tough, boys and girls. Hang tough!!!

Anonymous said...

Let's see how long the citizens of Brookhaven are pleased with those low arrest numbers. I'd care more about their productivity and being safe than how pretty the officers cars are.

Anonymous said...

you know what was sad? waiting 30 minutes for a brookhaven unit to respond, being flagged down by a brookhaven unit who asked for directions to a buford hwy address, seeing 5 brookhaven units parked in northeast plaza for an hour, seeing shim 32 activity in plain view on buford while brookhaven units drive right by, etc, etc, etc...

Let Brookhaven go. Dunwoody and Brookhaven are only the ugly beginning of a mass exodus from the grips of this county. Still rumblings re; City of Lakeside,City of Tucker,or poss City of Smokerise. Thats only on north and center side. Rumors of City of Stonecrest,City of Ellenwood, and City of Prosperity(if that just wasn't a cruel joke). Don't be surprized if the cities of Doraville,Decatur,Clarkston,Pinelake and Lithonia don's start to incorporate more area's around them for their tax base. Don't think it could happen? City of Chamblee just did this! Then, once Dunwoody and Brookhaven become more stable and secure, they will probably do the same thing. Don't believe me? Look at the unprecedented city developments in Fulton County. This is exactly where this county is headed. You might consider riding around this county on your off day,and see just how much of this county will be left for county services from the P.D.. Small disregarded remnants that no one else wants. When is the last time you saw a Fulton County police car around? Better stop worrying about patches and uniforms, and worry about if you are going to have a uniform at all !
