16-10-23. A person who falsely holds himself out as a peace officer or other public officer or employee with intent to mislead another into believing that he is actually such officer commits the offense of impersonating an officer and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 or by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years, or both.

He can't arrest criminals, So what? Nobody on the forth floor of 34 has put handcuffs on anyone in ten years or more anyways.

Chief Alexander, your doing a fine job. Please clean up the DKPD. Take the trash out! WE STAND WITH YOU. Please TAKE THE TRASH OUT! We need someone just like you to help make changes in the county. Thank you for going after the perps in the strip clubs. These perps are poison for the County. Please make sure all DKPD officers are aware they need to report all illegal activity/code violations observed while on j2s. Keep up the GOOD WORK. Wishing all DKPD officers happiness, and good health. BE SAFE.

I guess he shouldn't be riding around in a car with blue lights and police radio or wear a police uniform. Aren't those the things that Kiesha Williams was fired for when Ellis fired her and Bolton?

I guess you can't read where does it say a person has to have certification from post in there it doesn't . It also says public officer or employee so obviously you maybe you need re-training

All I have to say is I keep hearing all kinds of numbers as far as how many officers are here in this dept. I have heard this chief say 1000 and a couple weeks after that, at a service for an officer, 1300.

Which one is it ?

It certainly isn't either of those. Its lower...and we will leave it at that. I love how everyone loves to lie about numbers. The Brookhaven citizens were not fooled at the number of PATROL Officers Dekalb claimed were patrolling the Brookhaven area each day.

Some folks just don't get it....The stubborn thing about facts is that they speak for themselves. Remember that the next time you have to shop for a health plan ...bahahahaha....

SERENITY NOW

Anybody have a copy of his resume they could post? Whats his background?

Anonymous said...

There is no requirement under Georgia law for a Chief of Police to have arrest powers. They are only required to complete a 60 hour executive course. This information is in your LE handbook that all of you have been issued.

Hey chief you have more important things to worry about, get on the elevator go down one floor and take a look at how things are being run.

Anonymous said...

We've got pension issues to worry about, cityhood issues to worry about, not if the Chief can carry a gun.

Tip of the iceberg my friends - http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/key-dekalb-county-corruption-witness-breaks-silenc/nbdpY/

Alexander's resume is a bunch of BS. Like many other people he just makes shit up. He says he has been in law enforcement for 35 years. Bullshit! He has less law enforcement experience than most DKPD sergeants. I don't care what the LE handbook says, I promise you he is the only police chief in the state who is not POST certified. Another embarrassment to Dekalb PD!

Can we get some good news in the paper about Dekalb County?
I'm so tired about hearing about the corrupt employees.

Let's hear something like a Police Officer saved a child from a kidnapper or a Dekalb County employee refused to take a bribe and called the Police.

Let's get back to good of Dekalb County.

In reference to last comment, r u joking? This is dekalb county lmao...don't take bride and call police hahahahah haha my stomach hurt

LoFlyer said...

I agree with a lot of the comments, I don't care about his POST certificate, I do care about his lack of LE background as chief of a major LE organization. My understanding is he has a masters in psychology, three years with the TSA, and six months as chief of Buffalo PD. I question his TSA LE experience and six months at Buffalo as legitimate qualifications.
As with all the other chiefs, the political rulers will fire him if he strays from the prevailing political policies of DeKalb leadership. As long as Alexander doesn't "make waves" and avoid major departmental scandals he will keep his job.
There is just too much going wrong in DeKalb government to worry about the "Mickey-Mouse" stuff like the chief's POST.
To be continued...

Anonymous said...

Cause all you'll hear is Dekalb Officer writes 15 tickets a day to generate revenue for his corrupt superiors.

Anonymous said...

Why don't you post the Chief's resume here and show us all which parts of it are b.s. and your proof? If you can't do that, you're the one full of b.s..

So more companies hired (further kickbacks and corruption) at taxpayers expense to tell us what to do about the current kickbacks and corruption? Guess we know why no raises are ever coming. WHAT A JOKE: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/witness-who-accused-current-dekalb-official-shaked/nbffM/

Surprised this place has any employees remaining. You'd better have an exit plan, not just from this dump but from this country.

DKPD. The department run by Bobby Burgess, now run by.....this?

Anonymous said...

Everyone in the department obviously must be POST certified; except him. He takes all of the Assistant Chief's SUVs from them because he says there was no need for them to have them and it sends the wrong message. Now he drives the nicest SUV in the county government. He doesn't want supervisors disrespecting their subordinates by talking down to them or yelling at them. He routinely screams and curses at subordinates and makes threats like a street thug. This dude is the biggest hypocrite this department has ever seen. And yes, as amazing as it is, including Bolton.

I saw a news clip on Channel 2 news about people being stopped driving Dodge Chargers? I'm curious, is that DKPD?

If you are a DKPD employee and do not like the way the DKPD is being run, PLEASE turn in your badge and go find happiness. DeKalb County citizens deserve better than petty bitching from their police officers. There are many problems facing the COUNTY(Citizens, Government, and ALL departments). Are you part of the problem or the solution. Times are hard EVERY WHERE. Look no further than yourself, correct all that is wrong or bad and if you think you are perfect check yourself again. Do this till you GET IT. ALL OF YOU CAN BE REPLACED.....GO if your unhappy. We wish you well. Thank you for your service. It is time to start a NEW attitude in the DKPD, if you do not like the job, county, or its citizens GO. Wish you well. Be Safe

If he yells and curses at you and talks down to you....grow pair tell him to go you know what himself...Take your demotion and know you will sleep just fine tonight...
Stand for something or you will fall for anything...be a man...and respect for yourself.

I'm staying, I like DKPD get over it!!!!! It's not working dummies, lmao at you idiots. Y'all just won't give up and continue to beat a dead horse. I'm sure that ppl who are disgusted with the department will leave and some have already so what, who cares. We also have plenty who have tested the grass on the other side and where are they now, back at DKPD re-applying. Before I work for any of the smaller agencies in Ga I will leave the state, ain't no way in the world. DKPD has been good to me!!!! Now what?

Hey dickfuck 8:23

I have been here 20 years and I am 45 years old. I have worked every division in this department except swat. I was promoted after being here 8-9 years. This place was great up until 2003-2005 there are lots of ideas what happened, but I will let you choose for yourself. This place is disgusting with all of the corruptness. I will be staying here until 2015 and will bitch about this place until I retire. This is the most prejudice run department I have ever even heard of. Im not speaking just race, but several factors. Take a look around roll call, a good percentage of officers cant even speak English, its disgusting. I dont even talk at roll calls anymore because I just want them over with. The Lieutenants and Captains come in every once and a while and its sickening the lack of common sense these commanders have.

I have a background of CID and now since CID is so jacked up, who would want to go there. There are several good officers who have been here close to ten years that would do great in Investigations. Why would anyone in uniform want to go there now. It has been my opinion that it is a great benefit to the department to have well rounded supervisors. The next few years the Sergeants list will be strictly CID because for the first time in a long time detectives want out. The five year outlook is bleak for our department. Uniform will soon be great supervisors with some good officers. CID will be any idiot who puts in for it.

Looks like a time for the assistant chiefs to be re-arranged again. Like him or not there is one assistant chief in this department that holds himself to a higher standard, and possess the command to fix shit. Yes he does go off the deep end once and a while, who doesnt.

I've seen the chief driving a car 3 or 4 times. I've never seen him driving an SUV. And I mean driving, not chauffeured around. As for the yelling and screaming, I've never seen it. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never seen it or for that matter, met anyone who witnessed it first hand.

Anon 9:09. I had federal jury duty today and I am going through security and a big guy asked me if I worked for the county, I recognized him as a DKSO deputy and he got a job with the feds making more at entry level with the feds making more than a DKSO deputy with 20 years seniority. DeKalb is training the men and women then leaving the salaries and benefits so low that people are leaving in droves.
Going back to jury duty, the case was two bad-boys of MS-13 charged with two murders in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties. The Feds were deadly serious with this case, and all the jurors names were kept anonymous and the defendants never spoke a word. It sort of of opened up my eyes on the gang problem in the metro area. I was not picked to be a juror on this case, but I will keep an eye out on the results of the trial.
Be safe out there guys and gals!

The Chief has only been here 7 months. Can any of you fix a messed up department in 7 months? I think not. Give it time and support him and worry about things like the pension , health insurance etc. and not if he is a certified officer. You 1% that write on this page are bringing down the department . This is the first and last time I will look at this page. My life is more important than reading these uneducated posts .

So where are all the spcl ops blue-order changes and ensuing comments?

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:49

The sad truth is that the vast majority of officers who left the DKPD have never come back.....facts and all.

Anonymous said...

What happened in Special Ops?

Anonymous said...

Lets see here if there is a pattern with this new chief.... durham, Williams-lane, amar-rutland, connie howard. Hmmmm SMH

I've had the privy of meeting Lt Howard. She presented herself to be upbeat and takes great pride in DKPD. Asked me to consider joining the department.
