So the chief wants to restore trust huh? The AJC article makes it sound as if Chief Cedric is responsible for thug drug dealers posing as police officers. That responsibility lays with the hiring practices and low hiring standards put into place before his arrival.
But what Chief Cedric is responsible for, is allowing a officer in command, who lied to a grand jury investigating the corruption of Burrell Ellis, to remain employed and to remain in a command position.
Former Deputy Chief Lane-Woodward, now captain, lied to a special grand jury. A criminal offense. A felony offense. And Chief Cedric honestly thinks the public, let alone honest police officers can trust him?
We're not fooled. Burrell hired him to do his dirty work, and he's doing it.
